Catching up, pick coming soon!
All you need is Jm J Bullock for a full Too Close for Comfort situation.
We fought over clocks and masks. We’ve now moved on to thanksgiving and daughters with their dogs. That’s pretty much all you missed.Catching up, pick coming soon!
Funny how it works.I can empathize. We have 4 dogs, 2 of which can be directly attributed to my daughters who conveniently moved away and left them with us.
I do love both those dogs, though, and would not have wanted my daughters to take them away.I can empathize. We have 4 dogs, 2 of which can be directly attributed to my daughters who conveniently moved away and left them with us.
I purposely don't let myself get attached and won't show them any attention. I've got my own pooches for that.I do love both those dogs, though, and would not have wanted my daughters to take them away.
Yeah, we volunteer with a rescue organization but we don't foster for them, I'd want every single one and our two are enough for the size of our house/yard. So I do transportation, Mrs. NV is the volunteer coordinator, and we both help organize the annual picnic, the biggest fundraising event of the year.I purposely don't let myself get attached and won't show them any attention. My youngest daughter volunteered at the Humane Society throughout high school. Her junior year she asked if we could "foster" a dog over the Thanksgiving weekend.Yeah, we volunteer with a rescue organization but we don't foster for them, I'd want every single one and our two are enough for the size of our house/yard. That's awesome. I'm impressed that you're able to keep your emotional distance even under those circumstances. Animal suffering really pulls on my heart strings. I've had to cut back on the transportation. I'm good getting them at the airport or as the 2nd or 3rd leg and taking them to their new home but I can't do owner surrenders. That's awesome. Wow. Sorry. I always liked Edith and the singer/song.krista4 said:Wow. Unexpected for you to be such a jackass.

I don't care how hot the new girlfriend was, I would have picked the dog.I've had to cut back on the transportation. I'm good getting them at the airport or as the 2nd or 3rd leg and taking them to their new home but I can't do owner surrenders.
The last one I did was a guy in his early 70s who was moving in with his girlfriend and pets weren't allowed in the new place.
I don't know how he possibly gave away this dog, a perfectly trained 7 year old Golden Retriever, named Ami (french for "friend") he'd had since he was a puppy. It was so sad driving away, I wonder if it was a "it's me or the dog" situation or something. But in any case, that's the last time I ever did an owner surrender.
Yep. I was going to point that out, too. I didn't figure that out until I was in bed. The rationale for not doing the one-a-day whenever used to be that it tended to kill discussion of the songs. When did that change?krista4 said:Somehow you also missed being called out by name by NV for ruining the draft, unlike squistion and I, despite the fact that you actually said you didn't want one-a-days, unlike me.Maybe no one reads your posts?!
The Thanksgiving Foster DogMy youngest daughter volunteered at the Humane Society throughout high school. Her junior year she asked if we could "foster" a dog over the Thanksgiving weekend.
Needless to say, 6 years later, she's laying next to me on the couch right now.
This is my new official name for this. Mr R is going to fall out. We've both seen Bachelor Party.Mister CIA said:plain hunk of Costco roasted breast (aka, turkey cans)
Especially for someone in his 70s. Dude should be long past thinking with the man downstairs.I don't care how hot the new girlfriend was, I would have picked the dog.
That and We Belong.Round 11
Lost Triumph and the Runaways (Cherry Bomb) from my list. Close call between this and Hell is for Children.

I doubt he was. It sounds more like elder abuse or a fear of being alone to me.Especially for someone in his 70s. Dude should be long past thinking with the man downstairs.I don't care how hot the new girlfriend was, I would have picked the dog.
You're probably right. Hopefully they're both better off.I doubt he was. It sounds more like elder abuse or a fear of being alone to me.
The dog may be better off without him.
I won't argue about best, but I really like "Town Called Malice".Gonna take an obscure (throwback to the half-decades draft) band from the UK.
Round 11:
Going Underground -- The Jam
They have like 5 songs that rotate as my #1. This is what it is today.
@Northern Voiceup
Skip me again here, out for a bit, I'll pick when I'm back home.
As someone who can't check in much on weekdays, I wish we would have gone with a pick a day for the weekend.
Nah. Just wishing for more picks.
Nah. Just wishing for more picks.
I actually don't really care.

Promises In The Dark for me. Helluva solo by the criminally underrated Neil Giraldo. That and We Belong.Round 11

Wow. Sorry. I always liked Edith and the singer/song.
It's more that I think we need to give people more space than usual due to Covid stress. Everyone is more prickly than normal.
Please see Moment of Zen up above.
I've volunteered at several rescues, especially in Chicago. At the main one I did there, I was a member of their Board and, at different times, their volunteer coordinator, their foster coordinator, the main adoption counselor, and the person who organized their largest fundraiser of the year, which was a pain-in-the-### three-day sale of donated
at some of these posts. That's another one that mixes in as their #1 for me, along with Eton Rifles, That's Entertainment, Set the House Ablaze and Beat Surrender.
I’ll pick then because I’m heading to bed soon and I’m not going to snipe him anyway.Hate that I didn’t notice this earlier but @Chaos Commish said he could be skipped yesterday. Not sure if that applied to today too.
