THIS IS THEIR BEST SONG! - Music Draft - Saturday Night's Alright for iFighting (8 Viewers)

I can empathize.  We have 4 dogs, 2 of which can be directly attributed to my daughters who conveniently moved away and left them with us.
Funny how it works.

The 22 year old has already mapped out getting a Doberman in a few months.  I told my wife to make sure she understands that means a) she'll have already moved out before that happens and b) it prevents her from ever moving back in.

I purposely don't let myself get attached and won't show them any attention. I've got my own pooches for that.
Yeah, we volunteer with a rescue organization but we don't foster for them, I'd want every single one and our two are enough for the size of our house/yard. So I do transportation, Mrs. NV is the volunteer coordinator, and we both help organize the annual picnic, the biggest fundraising event of the year.

My youngest daughter volunteered at the Humane Society throughout high school.  Her junior year she asked if we could "foster" a dog over the Thanksgiving weekend.

Needless to say, 6 years later, she's laying next to me on the couch right now.

That's awesome.  I'm impressed that you're able to keep your emotional distance even under those circumstances.  Animal suffering really pulls on my heart strings.  If I was doing what you do, I'd have a home full of dogs.

I am satisfied with my picks in the first ten rounds, but I suppose everyone thinks that way.

Deep Purple - You Keep On Moving

Fleetwood Mac - Child of Mine

Thin Lizzy - Little Girl in Bloom

The Smiths  - This Night Has Opened My Eyes (Fun Fact: They weren't as popular in US as some think)

(Paul McCartney and) Wings - Coming Up

Squeeze - Another Nail In My Heart

Pet Shop Boys - Rent  (🎶 I love you, you pay my rent 🎶)

Nancy Sinatra - You Only Live Twice  (Nancy chosen before Frank? How does that grab you darlin'?)

Junior Walker - What Does It Take  (Live Letterman 1985)

Billy Idol - Hot In The City

I've had to cut back on the transportation. I'm good getting them at the airport or as the 2nd or 3rd leg and taking them to their new home but I can't do owner surrenders.

The last one I did was a guy in his early 70s who was moving in with his girlfriend and pets weren't allowed in the new place.

I don't know how he possibly gave away this dog, a perfectly trained 7 year old Golden Retriever, named Ami (french for "friend" 😢) he'd had since he was a puppy. It was so sad driving away, I wonder if it was a "it's me or the dog" situation or something. But in any case, that's the last time I ever did an owner surrender.

Wow.  Unexpected for you to be such a jackass.
Wow.  Sorry.  I always liked Edith and the singer/song.

It's more that I think we need to give people more space than usual due to Covid stress.  Everyone is more prickly than normal.

Please see Moment of Zen up above.

Why didn't you threaten me with that when I melted down the other day? Am I not important enough for that punishment? Huh? HUH?
You sound like you might enjoy it, so nooooooo.   Bwa ha ha.

I don't care how hot the new girlfriend was, I would have picked the dog.

Somehow you also missed being called out by name by NV for ruining the draft, unlike squistion and I, despite the fact that you actually said you didn't want one-a-days, unlike me.    Maybe no one reads your posts?!
Yep.  I was going to point that out, too.  I didn't figure that out until I was in bed.  The rationale for not doing the one-a-day whenever used to be that it tended to kill discussion of the songs.  When did that change?

And I'm not sure NV actually called anyone out.  I put most of this stuff down to Covid sensitivity.

And I am so not going to a Jets game.

Apologies to you.  Actually I "hid" the above post before you posted this, but somehow you got to it anyway.  I re-read and realized that you had just been trying to be funny, and that even if it landed with a THUD for me, your intentions weren't bad.  So again, I'm sorry for being a jerk in response.

:lmao:   I've volunteered at several rescues, especially in Chicago.  At the main one I did there, I was a member of their Board and, at different times, their volunteer coordinator, their foster coordinator, the main adoption counselor, and the person who organized their largest fundraiser of the year, which was a pain-in-the-### three-day sale of donated garbage stuff.  As a result, I always had way too many animals, at most 13 dogs, cats and kittens at one time (only two of whom were actually mine).   at some of these posts.

One flaw with our board software is the original poster can "hide" an entire thread. I think that's wrong as once other people post, it's not "their" thread anymore. NV please do not hide this again.

I've unhidden this now.

It does look like there was some over the line posting. Please don't do that. This should be a fun thread. If you can't be chill, please drop out of it and find somewhere else to post.
