THIS IS THEIR BEST SONG! - Music Draft - Saturday Night's Alright for iFighting (7 Viewers)

Thanks, Joe, for unlocking it.

I think I'm out of this whole exercise. That thread was making me sick to read because people I consider iFriends were fighting like cats and dogs, but this makes me sicker. What a disappointment and I'm not sure what NV was thinking when getting rid of the thread -- if that's what happened, even. Threads have been nuked for less. I have a hard time believing he did because I get that he was upset, but there were thirty other people participating. I'm hoping he didn't, but it looks like he did.

It's 4:00 where I'm at and I just woke up. This makes me unhappy, as did the thread. Peace.

One flaw with our board software is the original poster can "hide" an entire thread. I think that's wrong as once other people post, it's not "their" thread anymore. NV please do not hide this again.

I've unhidden this now.

It does look like there was some over the line posting. Please don't do that. This should be a fun thread. If you can't be chill, please drop out of it and find somewhere else to post.
Thank you thank you thank you.

Yeah, it's almost 5am now. Not the best time for decisions ;)

Your playlist needs you and I have been enjoying your work here.

We've been resurrected and I highly doubt there will be more drama, other than the purely humorous kind.

If you reconsider we won't mind.

I Flip between One Love  and Promises. That pause towards the end after "Prahhhhhmises" and before "Innnn theee darrrk". just blows me away every time.

Love hubby's guitar work in most if not all of her music.

How in bloody hell are the frikin' Go Go's in the R&R HoF and this woman isn't  :bs:

Oops! Just saw Zamboni's. My bad

Tomorrow we leave for Disney World and won't be back until the evening of Dec. 6. So please put me on autoskip until then. Some days I will be online at night and can catch up and fill in any missed picks. Some days I won't be online at all.

Thanks Joe,

As is said above here, last night there were a couple particularly awful comments directed towards me, after a weekend of nasty comments (and apparently PMs) and I did hide the thread.

I didn't realize I couldn't unhide it and with that knowledge and retrospect it was undeniably a ####ty thing to do. My apologies.

This isn't fun for me anymore, and the draft doesn't need me to keep going, so I'm going to log out for an undetermined amount of time after this post but I'll leave with a final pick, my favourite Crue song, directed solely at myself.

11.06 - Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away) - Motley Crue

Yeah, we volunteer with a rescue organization but we don't foster for them, I'd want every single one and our two are enough for the size of our house/yard. So I do transportation, Mrs. NV is the volunteer coordinator, and we both help organize the annual picnic, the biggest fundraising event of the year.
My uncle and aunt run a foster farm for abandoned/abused pet rabbits up in Washington state. I think at one time they had over 100 rabbits they were caring for but now I think they're down to 20 or so. He said it's a lot of work but worth it.

Going to go a little emo heavy for this pair - get your black out!  Oh, and just going to throw out the emo is not meant to be any sort of meta commentary - I remain blissfully unaware of whatever troubles befell the fine folks in this thread over the weekend.

Pick 10.33 : Dashboard Confessional – Hands Down

I’ve yet to come across another song that better captures the mood of being young and falling in love.  The end of this song always makes me think of my early days of dating my wife.

Pick 11.01: My Chemical Romance – Welcome to the Black Parade

Purposely didn’t link the official video, as to me it’s a little cheesy and faux angsty and takes away from an otherwise great song.

Thanksgiving turkey is going to be a plain hunk of Costco roasted breast (aka, turkey cans), but I'll compensate with an awesome array of sides.

Completed:

  1. Cheesecake
  2. Cabbage Dumplings (to be finished under the broiler)
  3. Cranberry Sauce w/Candied Pecans (I prefer it heated, but it's great chilled too).

To-Do:

  1. Gravy
  2. Raspberry sauce
  3. Mornay sauce (w/nutmeg and Gruyere/Parm blend) for the cabbage dumplings
  4. Mac and Cheese
  5. Beets
  6. Carrots Lyonnaise
  7. Cook two pounds of bacon
  8. Mash Potatoes (I'm doing instant on Thursday.  Come at me, bro!)
  9. Bean dip (intended as a post-meal sandwich side)
  10. Stuffing (signature side).
Kids Shopping List

  1. Ruffles
  2. Sandwich bread (and/or croissants)
  3. Take and Bake (Brown and Serve) dinner rolls
  4. Green Bean casserole (Savannah Classic, or some such).  I'm a little short on bandwidth to roll my own.
Damn.

Thanks NV. Let's get it back on track. This should be fun.

And if you see anything over the line, please report it and moderators will try to take a look.

I know nothing about music or of this band but this was the song used for the fire up intro video played during the LA Kings Cup run in 2012.  Due to that miraculous (and dominating) stretch of hockey that song will always be one of my favorites as it brings me right back to those great memories.

If I was in this draft it probably would have been one of my first few picks just because of what it represents for me.

If I can find the video they played I will post it.

ETA:  I couldn't find the production version one but you get the idea.   LA Kings 2012 Playoff Intro

From the other thread icymi.

This is not just any old weekend. It's Thanksgiving and that could further distress our troubled draft. Like some of you I am loving this draft. I have 25-30 more songs I'd like to add. Just 20 rounds will be a disappointment but oddly an achievement considering.

Experience with tons of these but far less than some of you has proved that for weekends a pick a day is the best option. The 2nd best has just been pausing until Monday.

Keeping a clock on the first few weekends has been a necessary evil to keep the fairness of the order because that's when we snipe the Beatles and the Stones and and and.

After a point running smoothly becomes better than keeping the order because the snipe issue is minimized. Not gone. I know. But those deeper snipes are always kind of fun anyway. Plenty of options for all of us.

So Thursday pick one (and any makeups you have) when convenient or not.

Friday the same, but if you missed Thursday you can take 2.

Saturday the same, but if you missed one prior day, you can take 2. If you missed both Thursday and Friday, you can take 3.

Sunday the same, but... you get the picture.

Monday we'll figure out who's up and go back to a 1 hour clock to the next weekend. Today we'll start the clock per usual.

I'm not giving orders like Krista would. This is my strong suggestion. I feel as if I KNOW it's the best way through this coming weekend, but will defer to whatever else suggested and preferred.

I travel Wednesday through Sunday maybe Monday. Lake Tahoe again. No problem picking once a day, but no interest in watching our draft and a clock.
