THIS IS THEIR BEST SONG! - Music Draft - Saturday Night's Alright for iFighting (3 Viewers)

I have not slept in a day 1/2. I started taking prednisone yesterday, and I'm supposed to take it for 12 days. It has made me wide awake. About 8 years ago, I slipped on some carpeted stairs and landed on my left shoulder. It has hurt on an off for 8 years, but the last two years it has hurt all the time, and keeps getting worse. Last year I had xrays and an MRI on it, and I have bursitis around the shoulder blade, and arthritis in the socket, and on top of the shoulder. I did physical therapy, and it didn't help, but I liked doing it. I lift weights to try to make it stronger in the area, but it still hurts. A shoulder specialist said I will probably need surgery on it one day, but for now a shot of cortisone could help. My rheumatologist keeps asking me if I want one, and said it could either help, not help, or make it worse. She said what would make it worse would be if I had a reaction to the shot. I keep holding out.  A few weeks ago she asked if I wanted to try and see if prednisone will help. I said ok, but she wanted me to wait longer since I had the booster 2.5 weeks prior. So I decided to start it yesterday. 🤞

Cincy spanked ECU last weekend. I think ECU is still going to a bowl, but we (they) aren't that good. I miss the years when they were the best football team in the state of NC.  I thoroughly enjoyed the NC State vs UNC game last weekend. State was behind 9 points I believe with a tad over 2 minutes left. They scored twice in 26 seconds, and ended up winning the game.  :wolf:

Need to listen to more by The Districts and Hot Snakes. I've heard of both but never gave a listen. Both are off of labels that I really like and that put out consistently good music, so that's going for them. The Districts have a real Walkmen vibe to them, Hot Snakes have that garage revival sound to them. 

Savage Garden reminds me of a very modern nineties Sweet and I'm not surprised that Mrs. R. likes them. I remember that song. I can almost hear the strains of Deee-Lite in that song for some reason.

My friend who brought me to that Walkmen frat house show I told you about a while ago? He was also really into The Districts. I never got around to checking them out, though.

I had Round 21.b all set to go, too. (21.a, of course, being the first round of overtime picks that didn't quite count because I'd already picked that artist and thus double didn't count. I was leaving 21.b's spot open for a newcomer to the spreadsheet).

If you go to Universal Studios, there is a place down Kirkman Rd. that is on Old Winter Garden Rd. called Lee and Ricks Oyster Bar if you want to take the family to what used to be a hole in the wall place to hang out and eat. I lived down the road, and went there all the time. It has changed some. The room that used to have the juke box and dart board is now another eating part, but it still has the portion where we would sit and eat oysters and drink long neck beer. The beer was always cheap, and so were the oysters back in the early 90s, and the jukebox was awesome. The place is shaped like a boat on the outside. If you go, when you walk in you go down a hall that smells like a creek, and then you turn right, and then turn right again. That is part where we sat where they shuck the oysters while you sit there. I think they have that setup in the old dart board part, and you would see that part when you first walk in, but the original part is off to the right and still the same, and where we would sit. You can get oysters raw, steamed, etc. They have crackers and cocktail sauce to go with them. You can also get other seafood.

Depends on what ride and what time of day. Longest posted wait time I’ve seen is 80 minutes. Longest wait we did was 70 minutes. You can pay to avoid the wait on some rides and we did that quite a bit.

Because then, it should be a favorite song draft, not a best song of an artist or group draft. If they have only done one song that anyone here has ever heard of, by default it is their best song. It takes no imagination to list your favorite songs of all time and draft them.

Technically, you're wrong. It might be that band's best song. It just only charted once. 

See, this is where you really #### up. You pick fights with people four times as smart as you are and proceed to find problems with their organization, especially when there was none, or that organization prompted debate about what "BEST" entailed. But you don't get it. You think there's some system or some rule that people are missing. 

Hint: They're not. And they're a hell of a lot brighter than you.

You missed the point of the draft.  It was to make a band's entire catalog unavailable to everyone else once they were drafted.  That was the only rule, so stop trying to make others up to fit in into some odd preconceived notion of what we were doing here.

 
And now that shuke has weighed in and can't stand it, I'm going to. 

I was going to say earlier that the people that whine the most about respect given are the people that give the least respect in public spaces, and are often the most tyrannical of the bunch in that they ruin the public space. 

That is you. You've ruined every discussion we've had with respect to fun or debate, and have been nothing but kindling fire to potential personal disagreements. You've taken this thread and turned people against each other, often chiming in and setting up debates that really shouldn't be had. You've turned every possible situation into a situation that you -- and only you -- try to ruin. I didn't participate in this thread as much as others partially because of the fighting that you helped cause, but also because of you, who have done nothing but involve yourself in petty debates and crappy asides. 

You bring out the worst in people, and you're among the worst I've met on this board at doing. Joe long ago should have cancelled you, and I can't believe he hasn't seen fit to do so. 

Your avatar -- a stupid one at that -- is wonderfully gone at their behest. I doubt it was per your removal. You can do what you want with this, maybe burn a thousand points of light at the sun, cursing its name, or whatever you do for fun. But you really can go take a hike from this thread as far as I'm concerned. You've done nothing to help it.

Per usual, you revert to being personally aggrieved when things don't go your way and say personal lthings. 

Let me give you a hint: You're not as smart as NV or krista, the two people that essentially ran this show. Say what you want about me, I don't care. But it's pretty obvious to a neutral observer that your IQ in the social setting, in the reasoning setting, and in the observational setting is completely lacking. 

Whatever you could say about me, you can think and hold dear. But you can't even understand what I say -- you certainly can't hold a candle to people twice as accomplished than you by deed and by education. 

You're picking at premises you don't understand, at Easter eggs that were there for debate intentionally but that YOU declared over and done with. 

But you didn't get it. 

And you never get it. 

And that's why you have such troubles.

This has been a gigantic fishing trip to get people arguing and to get them banned.

Well, you could have fooled me. How many times have people complained about being sniped? And more than once I've seen someone congratulating themselves or others for getting "the steal of the draft!" Seems like it was a contest of sorts to me (even though there were no prizes awarded or winners recognized, per se)

I am fine with people as long as they are fine with me. I treat people as they treat me. If someone, who has been critical of me for years, didn't take a shot at a post I made tonight, you wouldn't have heard a peep out of me.

I was simply noting that the draft was officially over (or so I thought per those pesky rules). The spread sheet now lists everyone's 20 selections in order of round and there is no place for post Round 20 selections. I didn't think it was right that people should start making 21st round selections, so I expressed my opinion about picks being made after Round 20.
