Here's my CBS season stats. 10 man league

Record: 7-8-0 (W1)

Coach Rating: 90 (1st)

Schedule Difficulty: 1st

Passing Rank: 1st

Rushing Rank: 1st

Receiving Rank: 10th

Defense/ST Rank: 1st

I was points lead as well. And of course, this particular league awards nothing for season points lead. And the only reason my receivers are last is because we start a rb/wr flex and i was starting 3 rbs for most of the year.

1st in basically every category and I didn't make the playoffs.

Yes, everyone blew up on me every week. :lmao:

tough luck, but it happens. I've been knocked out of the playoffs in the first round two years in a row with the highest scoring team in the league; this year I'm in the championship with a garbage team starting Tim Tebow.

Record: 11-4

Breakdown record:73-92-0

My receivers were fitzgerald, Moss, and Santonio Holmes...

Not the best crew, but like I said...the only reason it's 10th was because I was starting 2 wrs a week to most people's 3 since the flex spot is rb/wr.

Think about that before you spout your wisdoms.

I bet if your WR ranking was 1st also you would be in the playoffs. Kidding somewhat, but really, your WR's are what kept you back. Fitz, Moss, and Holmes were all non-existant this year. You need all positions to contribute for a championship imo.

That is also the reason you are 1st in RB since you started 3 and most people started 2. Everyone has there hard luck fantasy football story and if you haven't noticed, this board will just rip on you and point to the shirt. This isn't the board to post this on.

the OP joined in 2003 and is surprised by this?

it happens all the time, it's part of HTH and evens out in the long run.

wth did you want from posting this thread? you're lucky this guy was nice enough to throw you a bone, and you didn't get ripped on from the beginning for this violin.

Thats why I only play in points leagues. Amazed at how much better I sleep during the week these days..especially on Sunday.

Fixed. You forgot that luck is involved. Every league has one of these "tough luck" teams most years, though yours is on the upper end of the extreme, for sure. I bet it kills you when the 8th ranked guy in points is in the championship trash talking you... bahahaha, that's the best.

No kidding. That's also a pretty long time to be here and to still think that anyone actually cares.ETA: Anyone aside from me that is. I care. I really care about you Debeucci. In fact I care about all of you very much. G-D bless us, every one!

Ever thought of playing something besides H2H points draft leagues? This is like complaining your AA lost to 10-4 off-suit in a poker tourney. If you are playing a game that has inherently high variance, it seems silly to complain about it.

It's natural to feel frustration, but everybody on this board has been through their own. That's why the draft is so beautiful...the slate is wiped clean, and everybody starts fresh (unless it's Dynasty or keeper, etc.). Hang in there, you'll get over it.

Dude, your WR's pretty much stink... and that's giving you the benefit of the doubt that by "Moss" you are referring to Santana (not Randy). If that's Randy freakin' Moss, well you can whine all you want but that's about as bad a group of receivers that one team could have in 2010. Unless your league awards points based on past accomplishments. No wisdom here... just a little common sense.

Also I assume that u start a TE and that his stats are part of the passing stats? if so, thats 2WR + TE who ranked 10th. Did u also have a Kicker? rank? Also, your coaching rank being 1st could be a result that your bench stinks and you really had no better players to play. regardless...

Good point. It took me forever to figure out why I always was in the top third of the league, and had a lower coaching rank than everyone else. I usually have one of the strongest benches, so I have a bench player score more than a starter more often than my leaguemates with weaker benches. Coaching rank is kind of a worthless catergory really.

Ive played FF 16 years. All kinds of leagues, formats, styles, drafts auctions. It happens, but its never happened to me where I've had a great team and not even made the playoffs. Ive had plenty of very good teams, and some horrible ones. This is a form of whining if you ask me, because, if you didn't have the team that "Won the Games" week to week despite scoring points in bunches-- which obviously happened certain weeks not others-- then you obviously were not fielding a very inconsistent lineup, you were exploding then crashing. The Bottom line; The sin is equal, it is losing. Pouting about it here wont fix it, consider it when you get to week 5 next year, and make trades if you have to. Fitzgerald was a classic symptom of this type of team this year due to his QB situation.

Yeah, well, i was lucky and as unlucky as you. My team was unstoppable. I had the most point and it wasn't even close. I had something like 1450 points and the 6th place team had 1200. I lost 3 weeks by a combined total of under 1.5 points (we use fractions, lost by .8, .1 and .3). Blah blah blah. The "lucky" news was that our league gave the entry fee $$ to the highest points guy, so at least i played for free this year, lol. Still, would have rather been in the playoffs.

This year, I was 12-1 going into the playoffs. My only loss, I was 2nd highest scoring team losing to the highest team. Top point scoring team by almost 300 points. Starting lineup for first week of playoffs:

QB-Ryan

RB-Peterson

RB-Foster

RB-Charles

WR-Roddy

WR-Jennings

Flex-Mendenhall

K- Bironas

DEF - PHI

That team pulled 75 points in the first round of the playoffs against the #8 team which made it in on points. My lowest score all year before that was 125 and my average was 145. Stuff happens. Get used to it. I put in a weekly lineup in week 15 just to see how I'd do. With a 0 from Peterson, I still pulled 145 and was the top scoring team. Nice to rub salt in my own wound.

You never should have come back into this thread with this WR crew. I can't believe you expected to win. Are you just fishing?

Sorry, can't. They're both dead.

Can you tell me your entire team, including your bench? I also need the scoring system.
I play on CBS in one league as well and the Coaches rating is a joke. I've been in the championship of this league for 4 years in a row counting this year and my coach rating is always near the middle to bottom half . Why? because I have strong bench and sometimes play the wrong guy. Some of my league mates have high coaches ratings and poor records. Why? because they have a bench that stinks and its easy to decide who to play.I do also agree being ranked 10th at WR/TE is too low to expect big things to happen, especially if this is a PPR league. To make the playoffs you need balance particularily at WR and RBs.

2 things-

1) 10 man leagues stink. everyone is stacked, well sorta

2) wr's are soooo important!

oh and a bonus... so much luck involved especially in 1 week games.

but yeah fant fball is kinda lost it's luster and becomes annoying many times during the yr.

I am a fan of the VP scoring system that are on MFL and Antsports and others? rewarding not only victories but points scored. I'd be curious to know if you would have made the playoffs under that scoring system.

2 points for win

2 points if your are one of the top 4 scorers

1 point if you score 5th-8th most points

when you choose to play in a "record is everything" league, you give up your right to whine when things work out like this.

play in a total points league to avoid this in the future

Just think about the guy who was wooping on my team in week 15 till about the 7:00 mark of the 4th quarter in the Eagles/Giants game. He was the 1 seed.
