With his play in the postseason, has his stock in dynasty leagues risen? He has been a roller coaster this season. With the benching of James he was stock up and with the resurgance of James it looked like stock down? Does it just depend on what happens in the offseason? He looks at times like he has all the tools. Any thoughts?

personally I view him as a plug in but not the long term solution. I could see them using him again next year but would not be shocked at all if they brought in someone or drafted another player.

I think Hightower is mediocre at best. In all seriousness, in a dynasty league I'm not sure I wouldn't rather have Edge.

I don't see Hightower being a starter next season, they'll either stick with what's working now or acquire someone else(rookie, or maybe a McGahee type) if I could get anything useful for him I'd deal him.

Maybe I've been missing something but I haven't seen any impressive tools, he looks like a guy who should have gone in the 5th round.

Hightower hasn't impressed me much this postseason. I have him in a dynasty/salary cap league and I'm really not sure that I'm going to keep him.

He is playing decent... as a backup/change of pace guy. So basically he played well early in the season as Edge's backup, but when starting was awful. Now that he's the backup/situational player again, he looks good.

If anything this further downgrades him to me, as he is proving that he is only effective with limited touches. Obviously things could change but so far when given the starting gig, he wasn't very good.

He's only good at one thing. Running straight ahead. Any time he needs to make a cut, he seems to take 4 steps before the cut is finished. Get the man some tap shoes.

No thanks.

I think just the opposite. The post-season has proven Hightower to be a high energy, straight line change of pace back who works best as a complementary back rather than a feature back. Whether James is in Arizona next year or not, I don't see Hightower's role changing much from what is is right now.

That's the thing, he never appears to go in a straight line.

What do you think his value will be if arizona picks wells, knowshon or McCoy in the draft? IMO his stock is as high as it will get.

Well, he did convert the most important 4th-down in team history by running to the outside. He also scored the most important TD in team history at the end of that game. Not saying he's impressing the world yet, but the Cards are willing to rely on him when it really counts and he is coming up big.

I don't think he's featured back material. He has good energy, and I think he's been more effective on outside runs than people give him credit for. However, he doesn't seem to have the decision-making ability to find his holes and hit them quickly; he dances too much and runs into either his blockers or tacklers without any sort of elusiveness. I was hopeful for him, and it's still possible he might improve. He just lacks vision, which is unfortunately very important.

He's a rookie. There is at least a chance that he will improve going forward. He plays on a high-octane offense. If he gets the starting gig next year it will be hard not to value him.

He's playing like a typical rookie. What exactly has he done to make some of you believe his value has gone up? It can't possibly change now. James is most likely gone, but like some others have said/think, 'zona will pick up another FA RB and/or draft one early on.

He might need time to evolve...a la Tiki Barber or Darren Sproles.

Hard to say at this point whether he'll ever become a top back IMHO. He's definitely met expectations his rookie season.

i don't mean to change the topic - but why doesn't arrington get much of a chance. is he STILL incapable of blocking effectively? i haven't paid that close of attention to the cards run game, but it seems to me that the two would compliment each other nicely. arrington is a faster, shiftier guy.

Did they really need to evolve or were they just pigeonholed into part time roles by their temas due to the perception that smaller backs cannot carry the load full time?Hightower was handed the starting role and was unable to run with it. I just dotn't see the talent there. He runs hard, but as others have said he lacks visions and is slow. I have my doubts about him, but I do agree he's too young to totally write off.
