do i need to adjust a setting to see the proper times of posts? it appears on my screen that noon posts are happening when its only 11 on the right coast. did i miss something?

Go to "My Controls" then "Board Settings".Under the time zone, if you have "Auto-correct DST" checked, un-check it (because it apparently doesn't work). Then un-check "Is DST in effect?".
