Not that it keeps up with some of the big young cores, but the Nuggets are doing a solid job on that front. Mudiay, Nurkic and it sounds like they are bringing over Nikola Jokic who is 20 years old and was the MVP of the Adriatic League where he was second in PPG and first in RPG.
Yeah, I almost added them to the list based on Mudiay and Nurkic alone. I really like Mudiay as maybe a young/poor man's John Wall.

Free agent Carlos Boozer is in talks with the Clippers, Spurs, Mavericks and Raptors, sources tell Chris Broussard of ESPN.com (Twitter link). Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.com first reported that the Spurs had expressed interest, while Broussard identified San Antonio and Dallas on the eve of free agency as teams that were poised to pursue the Rob Pelinka client, along with the Nets, Rockets, Heat and incumbent Lakers.
He is DOA. Awful at this stage of his career.

MKG is still just 21, but a young group of MKG, Kaminsky, and Zeller scares approximately zero teams.
Yea they kinda blew that one didn't they?
Which one? All of them? Yeah. MKG is an elite defender though....
I laughed at the Kaminsky pick, but after seeing the early returns, I'm willing to at least give a nod to the idea that maybe there's something there. Certainly don't want to bank anything on summer games, but maybe he really is polished and versatile enough on O that it'll be worth working around the defensive liabilities.

The problem is Charlotte could really use a homerun type player and Justise Winslow was still on the board when they picked. Frank is more of a known quantity, but you had to go Justise there.

Would be great shtick if Lebron took a one year min deal with the Bucks and they won a title take that to the bank lebronmigos
honest question lebron wtih the guys on the bucks or lebraon with the guys on the cavs who is better take that to the bank in advance riddlemethishans

No argument here. Just acknowledging that I probably shouldn't have laughed off Frank so quickly.

The Justise thing seems so obvious that I assume he has some crazy heroin habit that's only known amongst NBA dudes.

That's right: Coach Krzyzewski gets all of his players addicted to heroin.

Bjelica’s deal is worth $11.7MM over three years, league sources tell Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports. Bjelica confirmed that he’s heading to Minnesota in a statement released to Wojnarowski through Tellem. Minnesota will foot the maximum $625K toward his buyout from Turkey’s Fenerbahce Ulker, Wojnarowski adds

Nice to know where Woj gets all his stories these days.

no way he would crack the regular rotation given the weak defense on his part. Pop and Carlisle would be pulling their hair.

Frank is probably a pretty good fit in the near term, assuming he progresses well enough to put Zeller in the second unit. Probably the best shooter in the lineup ( ).

Not much to build around after this year though when Al, Batum, and MKG will all be on the market. That is where missing out on Winslow will start to get really painful. That is the price of making short term moves to get that #8 seed though...

Speaking of HornCats chat...what do you guys think about Aaron Harrison? Don't watch a lot of college ball, but it sounds like this undrafted guy has a pretty decent shot of making the team.

I don't see the Lakers arrow as up yet. We have no idea how good Randle or Russel will be (particularly Randle, people just assume he's already good for some reason. )

After this year they likely lose Kobe and Hibbert, who both kind of suck now anyways, and likely won't have a lottery pick to show for it. I don't get the excitement.
Unless that lottery pick is #4 or lower. #Hinkietheprocess

Especially since Tellem is now a Pistons employee. Should be a Woj fluff piece out soon about how Detroit is heading in the right direction.

Robbie, wait!

The Timberwolves have taken back the qualifying offer of more than $1.147MM that they had extended to Robbie Hummel, as Jon Krawczynski of The Associated Press hears (Twitter link). The client of the Priority Sports agency thus becomes an unrestricted free agent, and the team forfeits its right to match competing bids for him. The timing of the move suggests that it’s tied to Minnesota’s deal with Nemanja Bjelica

So, Lo Brown in and Robbie Humdog out I guess on the 15 man.

[rim]"Ouch"[/rim]
The backcourt is that bad...
Kemba a perfect mentor.
How about PJ? Shooting 2-14 from beyond the arc in the damn summer league. :yuck:
PJ looked like he put on a few lbs in the offseason too.

if they both stepped on the court right now in there currenty condition for an epic battle of the pjs i think pj carlisimo probably wins by 8 going to 13 by 1s and 2s bromigos

I watched the hornets game on NBATV the other day and agree that PJ Hairston looks like he ate an extra taco or two since the season ended.

Obviously I haven't watched a whole lot of him, just highlights from China, but it seems very similar to Wall. I'm really surprised he feel because of his jump shot with the success than Wall, Rose, Westbrook and Rondo have had.

I would be excited for Russell, and I would hope Randle is a competent/useful 4. Clarkson seems like a nice combo-guard/6th man type. Other than that I agree there isn't much to be excited about. They're in wait and hope for a big signing mode. Maybe next year I guess...
It's not Towns/Wiggins/LaVine, but that Russell/Randle/Clarkson core is one of the better young cores around...I mean think of it this way...how much (if any) worse is that than the Sixers core?
I'd rather have Noel/Okafor/Saric/maybe Embiid than those 3. And it's somewhat beside the point, but Philly has the picks to continue building through the draft, whereas LA owes two possibly valuable picks in the near future.
Point being is that the Lakers aren't that far from being competitive again especially with their salary cap situation. This thread likes to make fun of them because Kobe!, but they haven't been doing a horrible job.
Cap space is only asset if you can use it to sign someone.

Parker-Mills

Green-Ginobli

Kawhi-Anderson?

Aldridge-West

Duncan-Diaw

I hope they are healthy come playoff time.
