Kinda feels like Parker's legs and Ginobili's big, goofy bobble head could just spontaneously fall off and the Spurs would still make the WCF.

Any more older FA's out there willing to sign for a Veteran minimum with the Spurs? Do they have any more cap space?

Jason Terry or Tayshaun Prince maybe? Too bad Pierce signed with the Clips already.

You can sign as many players as you want to the veteran minimum as long as you don't go over 15 roster spots.

Hasn't been mentioned anywhere that I've seen, but there's a solid part of me that says there's a decent chance Terry is back in Dallas on the minimum until he retires.

Could be wrong, of course, but if he isn't in Houston that's my guess for him.

Yeah, West must have invested wisely...you have to assume he could have got 30M+ (maybe 3/33 or something?) and he's getting close to last chance for a big deal territory, right?

If it's just a one year contract (which it should be), maybe he figures he can still get 3/30 next offseason with so many teams having money to burn.

He has made almost 90 million in his NBA career.

He'll be 35 next month. Not sure about a "big deal."

He's just title-hunting at this point.

Which I think is great.

I don't see the Lakers arrow as up yet. We have no idea how good Randle or Russel will be (particularly Randle, people just assume he's already good for some reason. )

After this year they likely lose Kobe and Hibbert, who both kind of suck now anyways, and likely won't have a lottery pick to show for it. I don't get the excitement.
Unless that lottery pick is #4 or lower. #Hinkietheprocess
#readslower
Meh, won't and will look very similar.

Right, this must be what he's thinking. Hope he doesn't blow a knee this year.

Well, 30M vs 1.4M is pretty big. Maybe that deal wasn't it out there, but I'm guessing it was or something very close to it.

It's a lot of money, no doubt.

But he wasn't going to get a three-year deal like that from one of the contenders.

That's about it for serious title contenders, right? LAC and Chicago are arguably in that second group.

The T-Wolves are not 2016 title contenders.

The Bulls might make the EC Finals, but I don't think they have enough to win a title.

Raps are going to regret letting Sweet Lou go. He carried that second unit and the entire team especially once Lowry was injured. Dont get me wrong he is like JR Smith and lost the Raps a fair amout of games with his streaky shooting.

David West turned down 12 million from the Pacers to play for vet min. Thats insane. Only situation I can recall that was even close to this was the Nets getting AK-47 for cheap but it didnt end well for them. A healthy Spurs vs Cavs would likely rank among best finals of all time in terms of talent on each side.

They absolutely are.
Just need to flip Pekovic/Martin and some future first rounders for Anthony Davis.
No need. Already have Karl Anthony Davis Towns.

I don't think there will be an appreciable net drop off. I will bet that they move away from the ISO dominant offense from last year and towards the free flowing offense from 13/14. Bringing in guys from ATL and SA can only help with the ball movement. Ross going to the bench and having a defined role should greatly help his game out. The big loss is Amir and replacing him with Biyombo. That'll hurt the offense alot more than losing Williams.

Their achilles heal from last year, defence, will be greatly improved.

The games where he caught fire were great but they were negated by the all too common 1-10 nights.

LAC aren't there without DJ.

According to nba-reference, he's banked 87 MM so far. Surely he can afford to get by on the minimum, but still it's a lot f money to leave on the table. Would like to see an intrepid reporter dive deep into the culture of NBA players and reveal how significant a championship is to players. Braggin' right mean something in the NBA, no doubt!

ETA: It's as if Michael Jordan sponsors poker clubs/tournaments and a ring is required for entry.

Whaaaaat? In the West they will be lucky to be an 8 seed this season. It actually would be miraculous.

Come on.

$90 mil for West. That's amazing.

Yep. This is a huge, huge shot to them. There's really no way for them to recover from this, at least this year.

Related, apparently there are Jamal Crawford-for-Haywood talks.
I can see the Clippers missing the playoffs if the Jazz and Twolves make some leaps.

1. SA

2. GSW

3. OKC

4. NO

5. MEM

6. DAL

Then I'd put the Clippers fighting for the 7-8 spots. DJ was super important to their defense.

LMFAO.....come on man.
They're stacked

Unless they get hit by a rash of injuries they're probably only behind the Spurs and Warriors.

Boris Diaw has reeled in about 77MM, and unless falls off of a cliff he'll approach 100 MM before he retires.

Match them up man for man vs anyone else. You'll see.

Isn't this likely kobes last year? If so, with him and Hibbert off the books, they are going to have a dump truck of free cash. Another horrible year isn't going to give any FAs the confidence that this team is heading in the right direction. And it might hinder the development of the 2 good young players they have. They don't need another low lottery pick.
Lets say Kobe miraculously stays healthy for the better part of the year. Does he retire? If he doesn't, what do the Lakers do?
Let's not think about that scenario.
Gotta admit, it's an interesting storyline. Even if he's hurt, he doesn't seem like one to let go easily.

Best case scenario is nowhere near .500.

I'll give 'em an outside shot at 30, though.

Thought I would pop in and say good luck to whichever city the Milwaukee Bucks move to. The Wisconsin state government can't make up their mind on something so trivial. This should have been figured out ages ago and the state government is essentially trying to turn Milwaukee into some kind of city that is desolate and has no economic stability. Anyway, good luck to Seattle or wherever they move.
