Titans 2015 in-season thread (2 Viewers)

The Titans now know all 16 opponents they will face during the 2016 regular season.

In addition to home and road games against their AFC South rivals (Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars), the Titans will face every team from the AFC West (at home against the Denver Broncos and Oakland Raiders; on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs and San Diego Chargers) and every team from the NFC North (at home against the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings; on the road against the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions).

Additionally, every team has two conference games based on order of finish within its respective division. No matter what transpires in Week 17, the Titans will finish fourth in the AFC South. As a result, they will have a 2015 home game against the AFC North’s fourth-place team, the Cleveland Browns, and a road contest against the AFC East’s fourth-place team, the Miami Dolphins.

As per Wyatt, from MM conference, Wright is expected to practice Wednesday and probably will try again in week 17 to play.

I couldn't want this any less.

Two broken ribs and now a sore MCL...and some say hip too.

He barely played while new guy Damaris Johnson and Turzilli sat inactive.

TZ would gain so much more from playing than Wright could.

Colts don't have a QB. If the Titans win they lose the first pick. If they lose they should start a 76er style rebuild.
Interesting considering they took Tanney from Titans after summer then Whitehurst midseason

I have yet to understand why Luck doesn't play. He got hurt late in Titans game and that seemed to snap him out of his funk, he was great after that. IDK how long "lacerated kidney" puts someone out for, just always seemed back soon.

Stephen Morris I thought was that running 3rd stringer the Cowboys used to have. I guess I don't know him.

Whenever teams get stuck I always think they do it wrong trying to forcefeed the O. What they need to do is draw up plays in the sand and spend the whole week getting timing down with WRs.

Do you realize how much time is wasted learning the run plays-skip that! Have the RB say turn left or right in huddle.

TY is so cat quick, I don't know how a QB could complete much to him without having practiced a bunch. He's gonna side step and it'll go right to the defender arms. I don't know if he's all that good with just one cut routes and curls that take a minute.

Where's Sorgi and that other longtime backup? Can't they get up off the couch somewhere? They probably know the O enough. Manning never got hurt, that Sorgi guy probably retired grumpy he barely played and would love to

Chip Kelly is available. Quick yes or no. Do you guys want him?
Sure. As offensive coordinator. (Kidding, sort of)Fwiw, I'd bet on him becoming a titan soon. He doesn't want personnel control and that was his biggest problem. He will have his qb to run his system.

Actually, that is not what Lurie is saying. He wanted to take personnel control away from Chip and he said Chip balked at that. That is why Lurie said he fired him.

I don't know how much faith to put in glazer but:

In my convo w Chip he said next stop he just wants to coach & insists he does NOT want to be the personnel guy too. This is significant

the non-personnel role was reported by many by the end of the night. I think his agent spread that quickly

Can Kelly be hired to trade for picks during the draft, like a week long position? I love how that guy wheels n deals on draft day and they really need to trade down for more picks

It's fun to watch, but he doesn't know what he doing. Like him much better as OC with the QB his system was designed for.

Draft Tunsil, move Lewan to RT and they have two good bookends to protect Mariota.

Lewan and Wright are out

Mularkey expects Hass to play despite all the contrary reports all week- maybe that's the way to go as the new guys will emulate him?

Last presser, Mularkey reiterated how he had to continue in Whis' philosophies and wasn't necessarily his own

Fun mentioned by a few, curiously interesting for a losing season

Today no plans to put Mariota on IR to free up a roster spot. Geesh put he, Lewan, and Wright on IR and let the practice squad guys dress already. One of the few common things amongst Fish, Munchak and Whis was late season action for PS guys...give it to em'

Bell in at LT

Not stated who is RT but assume Meredith. Bell complimented for all the switches and not complaining

Not said who is C but Looney and Gaillick both stunk last two weeks, I suppose Looney stunk less but if there's hope for the Boston College C well then play the rook, it's week 17!

No mention of TZ or McBride. Tavai makes nice play, McBride scores TD and no one notices because it's end of year

Wright finishes with one 100 yard game and one game with more than four catches

Mett hasn't had full WR corps or full OL in any start

**********************

Titans 8th in pass D and 9th in total sacks- thank you Lebeau

17th in rushing D

Lebeau wants top ten D

Currently13th in total yards- just 200 yards separate 9 thru 16. If Colts do go with scrub QB, he could get it.

7th fewest snaps on D also illustrates well how they get off the field

For me it's a tale of two halves almost or before week 10 after week 10. Very good prior, terrible after

If Lebeau retires, despite the most interesting career full of impressive things, after watching 2014, I sincerely think making the Titans a top 10 D would have to be one of his best accomplishments. It's certainly an amazing feat

Assuming Tenn picks first and doesn't trade down is Bosa the logical pick here? I don't believe there is an OT rated that high and qb definitely should not be an option.

Laremy Tunsil, OT Ole Miss, is rated that high.
Doubt this. Not exciting to casual fans and they've lost them and need to get em' back.

My other prob is most still totally expect Lewan to be a stud for years. It's not uncommon for a guy to struggle more his 2nd than his rookie year.

Is Tunsil better than Lewan? Or will he be a RT?

I don't think you draft a RT top pick, but a LT.

With a ton of cap, I'd rather they sign Russell Okung because I've been impressed with the guy since college so he seems like a sure thing here

Mitchell Schwartz and Cordy Glenn are UFA also

Poutasi was fairly highly rated by them and they were pleased to get him in round 3. He is now a Guard. I do totally question their judgement.

Oher and Bell were free agents signed but oh so late. They didn't even truly try to sign a top free agent T but kind of give a half effort.

So I'm thinking why not draft a star with the top pick and actually spend some of the cap $ and go get a tackle.

Okung and Bosa seems pretty great to me today.

The other side of it is, aside from a top free agent cornerback I'd prefer the addition of a top Tackle with all their $

Thanks for all the comments and discussion and back n forth.

I won't be doing this here so much in 2016. Someone else has to take the ball n run with it or collectively etc.

New owners

New GM

New set of coaches

Then we rebuild.

Otherwise, who are they trying to kid?

ETA: Thanks Bri for all the hard work

Webster is gone

Mularkey will interview

Underwood made team pres and CEO so he's not interim anymore

Strunk to hire the GM(yep) and Underwood to hire the coach.

Zero interviews scheduled while many teams have guys coming tuesday. Again, the sale the sale the sale....if this takes too long (or is even going to happen) all the coaches will be hired. For this tangent, I'll be watching Peyton's boy Gase.

He is in Philly Tuesday and Cleveland Wednesday interviewing.

Delays will shred the talent pool of coaches

Wyatt, Glennon, and PK reporting all morning and much of this above

Thank you

They're in an excellent position for a rebuild if a new guy wants to. Rookie contracts aren't guaranteed and it seems like most of the team is still working on one.

Wright and McCourty at 7 mil are expensive and overpriced. Griffin's age- I think it depends if new guy keeps Lebeau and Horton. These 3 cut, plus cap room now, would give them 40 mil to play with-that's a ton.

Otherwise, there's no reason to cut any stars. The precious few that remain are all very good eggs any team or coach would want. Ya know it's not like some new coach is going to say "I don't want a man of the year finalist that led all TEs in receptions."

New guy could rebuild them this offseason, not some four five year plan but geesh look at all this available money-I'll take him in free agency and him and him...easy.

For the immediate future-

I would like a report that they are evaluating Okung and other Ts and Centers too, to pounce when free agency begins and some indication they will keep Lebeau another year.

Lebeau is currently unemployed working a one year contract. He has said he'd coach if he was wanted sooooo WANT HIM!

PK tweeted Underwood identifies coaching candidates

So he sets it up, Strunk interviews

That 80 is widdled down to a list of 14

All of this is not me but PK at a presser tweeting

Oregon's junior WR Bralon Addison entered NFL draft

He sat 2014 w torn ACL so despite twitter-world, that is not Mariota's boy. Familiar, played with, but...being presented all wrong.

A few guys have said he was awesome in high school, cream of the crop when texas was loaded at the time-maybe but he's 5-10 190 and his college stats are pretty ordinary for WRs in draft maybe even on the low side. Zero need with Wright and Douglas. If Wright is gone, I'd still probably say McBride over him. How many smallish guys do they need?

Looking for a story types.

His stats clearly look to me like should have stayed another year
