Titans 2018 (1 Viewer)

Oh cool we're getting all the pats rejects.

Kidding   :oldunsure:

I actually do like the tandem of Lewis and Henry.  But not so much the fact that Lewis will be compensated as a top-10 NFL running back.
The RB market has been arguably the worst in sports the last ten years. For the most part, it went from a bunch of well paid guys to only a few being well paid and replaced by rookies and 2nd year guys. 5 mil per doesn't seem too bad really.

He'd better out produce Murray. You can't tell me Murray wouldn't have stayed for 5m

With Avery gone and CB taken care of - ILB at 25?

Or G if Kline/Spain don't stick?

Or OLB to put the lid on the Dud experiment?

After Kline, I think they sign a free agent ILB or G(maybe Spain)

OLBs match up well with where they draft as do ILB.

They almost need to say what the plan is with Brown and Wallace (4 LB positions each) and how they'll use Morgan. PK thinks Morgan stays OLB but others think he switches to DE. "Set multiplicity" that Vrabel said has people guessing. Vrabel hadn't watched much tape then. Now he has. Lebeau had them play a whole lot of 5-3 the last few years with both Orakpo and Morgan at the line of scrimmage. (I'm sure he was aware with the Texans but I have no idea how much with him being DC and focused on offense...) The tape might show him that they have the horses to do what he wants. And again, Wallace and Brown playing either position.

DE is a considerable weakness as is NT if they don't count Woods. They gotta address those. Avery spent his whole career without a good NT in front of him. His job was so much harder because of it. We need a good NT to hold the point of attack and keep blockers off the ILBs

Cameron Wolfe @CameronWolfe

Titans are signing G Josh Kline to a 4-year, $26M with $12M gtd, per source. Potential to make up to $27M.
that's so high for a guy claimed off waivers that didn't play well in 2017.

Today was that the Titans are prepared to let Spain walk or make him a backup(at 1.9 mil). He is not mobile enough for the new O. I died a little reading that

Pats re-signed Burkhead to more $ than expected. Titans made offer the Pats went above. Very interesting considering they already signed Lewis

Per Cam Wolfe

Titans awarded Spain 382k performance base bonus; highest in the league. Each team gets 4.2 mil to distribute amongst (lesser) players to reward the least paid guys. The only requirement is a single snap.

No idea what happened to the rest of the 4.2

Malcolm Butler presser on, pretty unexciting/predictable but I'm enjoying this offseason news stuff

Giants C signed 5 year 47 mil deal with San Fran. Consider Jimmy G and Cousins' deals. Consider Butler 12 mil and Ryan 10 mil.

Now do you see how putrid the RB market is? Dion got 5 mil per and is a top 10 highest paid back

No Henne deal after a night on the town is odd.

Saints signed Tom Savage so that means Chase Daniel is very likely not someone they're going after. I have liked him every single preseason

Wasn't Suh pretty pissed when he had to play in a 3-4 alignment last?

I know Vrabel has said "multiple fronts" but that at least includes 3-4 - and I guess that would place Suh right in the middle getting the OL in his face....

I don't see it.

But hell, who am I?

I haven't followed Suh in years. He was super disruptive and an excellent NT that mouthed off from time to time. He could be more mature now, quieter, better "soldier"...I don't know.

From Wiki

During Thursday Night Football against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 8, Suh committed two unnecessary roughness penalties, including one moment where he attempted to choke Ryan Mallett and shove him out of reach. Suh claimed that his choke on Mallett was a self-defense, thinking that Mallett tried to attack him firsthand. The Dolphins were shut out as they lost 40-0.[66][67]
This is all they wrote about him for his 2017 season.

Granted, the other recent years are equally terse

On a prove it contract? Maybe

From NFL.com's four reshaped teams article

Tennessee Titans

Like Nagy in Chicago, new Titans coach Mike Vrabel was bound to feel like a jolt of energy compared to his sleepy coaching predecessor. The acquisition of cornerback Malcolm Butler will further invigorate a defense that was too often lifeless a season ago. Butler plays with a rare manic energy, not so different from his new/old teammate Logan Ryan, a fellow former Patriot.

The offensive philosophy of coordinator Matt LaFleur, who comes from the Kyle Shanahan/Sean McVay coaching tree, should only help open up this offense. In former Patriots running back Dion Lewis, the Titans got the perfect complement to bruising runner Derrick Henry. Both Lewis and Henry will be better players with lesser workloads.

My inclusion of the Titans here is partly due to the players that are no longer with the team. From Matt Cassel and Eric Decker to Harry Douglas, DeMarco Murray and Da'Norris Searcy, the Titans unloaded members of a roster that seemed destined for the soft middle of NFL standings. Butler, Lewis and a new approach on offense should give the Titans a higher ceiling -- and provide for a smoother viewing experience on Sundays.

Quinton Spain's agent has advised him to remain with the Titans. They met and he's not going to seek offers from other teams. This should mean Spain returns at 1.9mil and next year he's an unrestricted free agent. JRob said he couldn't comment on any negotiations. When asked if it's good when a player agrees to a tender and not seek offers, he said "that's excellent"

Eric Decker has been working out with teammates? former teammates? at Nashville Athletic Club. He is also in night time pictures with other players and appears to be part of the team still. I'm not gonna tell a guy who he can be friends with or how to live his life but...I thought this was interesting from facebook. Ya gotta follow the Titans mascot on there. He posts pics all the time and then deletes them as if someone said take them down, he's a great follow though

Derrick Henry looks awesome. Ya gotta see him, mascot, and Eddie George side by side. He's getting cut this year. Those two are the best workout buddies or trainers or whatever they're doing for him. I love it

I see Jalston Fowler so maybe it's not weird Decker is with them?
