Cedric Gray good first wk back, will likely use most if not all of 21-day window to evaluate.
What do we think of his value long term?
Awful right now. There's no spot available.
Their ILBs are playing great. Idk best combo in the NFL but they'll make you consider if they are. The lack of big plays and turnovers would hurt them. The Titans haven't had two sideline to sideline, "they're everywhere" ILBs in...maybe franchise history.
They have heady but slowish former starters for backups in Gibbens and Gifford.
Otis Reese and James Williams are former safeties that make intriguing subs for spots. Williams looked so good this summer. DC singled out Williams this week as someone pressing for time with his performance in practice. Snead loves him which can't hurt his chances either if a veteran talks you up whenever he can.
Gray was naive. He'd have a couple good practices then be called out for not knowing his responsibility or something. That was cyclical all off-season. They're surely hoping that sitting and watching made him learn to focus and be professional. He hasn't even had the chance to react to the speed of the game. He's gotta be done thinking, memorize whatever, then read and react. That's a lot to ask after his spring.
I think he's in the window to be traded. You can't trade an injured player. A lot of predraft folks had him as a kid with a bright future so I'm guessing they think they can recoup their draft pick.
Y'all IDP folks know that the LB market is worse than the RB market. Things can change quickly. Right now though, he's gotta be traded to have some value.
I expect Gifford to be on the Browns by years end. Schwartz and Vrabel really liked him and he's on the Titans PS. If the right Browns ILB gets injured he's going there for his film room contribution as much as his backup play. I'd bet on it if I could.
I don't really foresee movement for Gray to play. Jones took the spot he could have and has been excellent.
