How do you watch the Jets' season last year and not have a viable backup?

I mean, Waldman loves Skylar, but I'm not sure I'm willing to go along for that ride. He's got a longer leash for that, but Waldman has been wrong before.

Thompson looks like he has an adequate arm and some mobility. We'll see about everything else.
Name me viable back ups in the NFL.
Andy Dalton, Jake Browning, Jameis Winston, Joe Flacco, Carson Wentz, Jimmy Garoppolo, Tyrod Taylor, Sam Howell.

Backups for a reason (mostly, maybe Browning/Howell can be more) but could certainly be able to move an offense with this much skill position talent. Of course, so could Tannehill, and he's free.

These are the guys I was going to list, but you've got it pretty well covered. Browning, Winston, Howell, Taylor, and Flacco.

Browning, Winston, and Flacco all came to mind first.

I'd include Drew Lock in there.
Lock might be starting in NY soon. That's why I left him out.

I wonder if Teddy 2 gloves would come back? He knows the system from 2022.

Jimmy G actually makes a ton of sense, as McDaniel/Shanahan are extremely similar offenses, and McVay seems to like Stetson Bennett.

Strange game. Miami with more first downs, 20-12, more yards, 351 to 240. The defense played ok except for 2 big plays, the run by Cook and pass to Johnson. 3 ints and BUF DEF stopped Miami on multiple 4th downs.

Family in locker room with Tua.. is that normal?

I mean if your family member is hurt in the game are you waiting in the stands for the zeros to hit the clock?

I think on Hard Knocks this season a Bear had his mom in the stands and she was outside the locker room waiting to see him come out of the medical area before the game ended

Can't imagine anyone would have thought the Bills would score 31, and Josh Allen would have single digit fantasy points.

Miami can’t bring in a statue with this offensive line. What’s Heineke up to these days? They’ll probably just roll with Skylar.
Does it really matter at this point. Their season is over.

This. In the history of the NFL no team has lost their starting QB and gone on to win a Superbowl with their backup.

NY Giants and Hostetler down?

Oh wait, just thought of Brady and realized you were being facetious :)

You guys in here aren’t being serious with his career being done right? He’ll be back the minute he’s cleared. He just went head first into a linebacker when he could have easily slid, he clearly does not care.
no, he will be lucky to finish the year
Hope he doesn’t come back, just doesn’t seem like he’s that kind of guy.
It's over Cap, believe me

-He will be put on IR for 4 weeks and then likely transferred to season and then they'll talk about it in the off season but it's over
You can't let him continue to play, he's a danger to himself and there's no reason to enable him more than they already have, $167M guaranteed and flushed down the drain

Godspeed Tua's recovery, CTE is a major factor at this point

yeah, he wants to back under center no doubt.

Tom Brady. Kurt Warner. Nick Foles. I've been sitting here since he posted it wondering just how many there are.

Haven't thought of any more recent ones. Googled for older ones.

Earl Morral. Jim Plunkett. Hostetler mentioned. Doug Williams. Trent Dilfer.

Jim Plunkett and Trent Dilfer. Think there may have been some in the 70's too.

Edit: I post too slow :laughing emoji:

I see what you're saying and YES in theory I would see your POV, if the Phins can wheel him out next week or he cleared concussion protocol (HE WONT) but yeah they don't care, they would play him and get him concussed again

Earl Morrall was Miami's starter for most of their undefeated season.

RGIII is probably available now that ESPN let him go. 💡

ETA I hope this is acceptable lightbulb usage. It’s the 1st time since the warning, and what with the laugh reaction hullabaloo (I’m assuming there was at least a kerfuffle) I’m a little gun-shy.

NFL has to do the right thing here, and I think that likely means shutting him down. Seeing him in the fencing response was awful a few years ago, and just plain frightening tonight. At some point, it's on the NFL. The optics of Tua coming back and that happening again...nobody but the NFL to blame.

I'm already a parent who won't let my son play football (may have felt differently a decade ago). But we watch every weekend and he loves fantasy. But I refuse to participate in watching and supporting a sport that puts profit and gain above concern for humanity. I'll drop this sport, no problem. And I don't think I'm alone.

I think Tua played his last game tonight.

How long should the NFL shut him down?
Would you let him back on an NFL field?
I think Tua will actually try and play the minute he can get cleared
Hope I'm wrong
