**TNF on Prime Video - Patriots at Steelers** (-6, 30) 8:15 (1 Viewer)

Played Engram over Johnson at the flex.......in a league where I was 9-2 lost my last 2 NFFC games 154-153 and 162-161......snake bit. Oh started Pitt DEF over Jets. (Did start Zeke at least)

Did I mention I really hate Thursday games

Pittsburgh 7-5
Cleveland 7-5
Indy 7-5
Houston 7-5
Denver 6-6
Cincin 6-6
Buffalo 6-6

...Which 3 teams do you think are getting into the Playoffs?
I say Houston, Indy and Cinci on a late push with Browning

I’m trying to be positive, I don’t think it’s on Tomlin like so many of you do. But…this is so depressing,
It’s not on Tomlin tonight but we have seen this outcome so often. Does anyone really think Tomlin is capable of winning another superbowl? It took a top 3 defense in the history of the NFL and even that one was almost lost.
Top-3 defense in history of the NFL is really pushing it. Not sure it was a top-3 defense just in Steelers history.
That’s fine. It’s hard to compare defenses across different eras. Let’s leave it at one of the greatest defenses of all time?
That's fair, but Tomlin should get a lot of credit for the defense being as good as it was.

Total tangent, but the defense that won the SB against Seattle will never get the credit they deserve because of the supposed bad calls in the SB.

They held Cincy, Indy, Denver, and Seattle FAR below their PPG average during that playoffs that year.

Doesn't matter - it's still a SB win :towelwave:

Pitt 7-6 (after tonight with no QB)
Cleveland 7-5 (with Flacco at QB)
Indy 7-5 (with Minshew at QB)
Houston 7-5 (with Stroud killing it)
Denver 6-6 (Still not buying into their resurrection
Cincy 6-6 (Much better team then their record and Browning looking better after last week)
Buffalo 6-6 (Another team much better than their record)

I think Buffalo is scary for everyone in the AFC. I'd honestly rather play any of the AFC South or West (including KC) teams than Buffalo.

I'll say Bills, Texans, and Colts.

Followed by some strong bets against Minshew at Miami, and probably the Bills over the Jags.

Probably need to set my Thursday lineups on Tue/Wed from now on and don't even look at them again. Every one of the disaster sits have been done on Thursdays.

Some credit but he inherited a lot of it including James Harrison and Polamalu.

Bellichick somehow felt the punt coverage team should have had a better shot at grabbing the brief muff by the Steelers on the return.
He was screaming at his assistants

Sat Miami DEF for Pitt in the league where I sat DJ Moore and Moss in week 5 and I am still chasing those 70 pts lost. Difference of 1st place and no playoffs as of today.

Tomlin inherited the only roster he's ever been successful with. It was built under Cowher. The team won the Super Bowl 2 years before Tomlin took over and only finished 8-8 the year before because of Ben's motorcycle accident. Tomlin had success with that team for a few years and the last 13 years have been nothing but underachieving and progressively getting worse and worse. The Steelers have won a single playoff game in only 2 of the seasons since 2010.

He's not a great coach. Im not sure how good of a coach he really is. I dont think hes bad, but his reputation is way better than he is.

Lol watch your language dude! This is a family friendly forum.

2 takeaways so far:
1. There’s a commercial for a medication to prevent hot flashes, and one of the side-effects of that medication is (check notes) hot flashes.

2. Kurt Warner describes responsible gambling as
• not betting more than you can afford. Ok, I’m with ya there.
• never chase your losses :oldunsure:

So if you lose, never make a bet again? Have you met gamblers, Kurt?

And this is how bad the Steeler defense REALLY is. Pats haven't scored 14 points in a game since Woodstock. I thought Tomlin was a defensive mind??
You bag on Tomlin every week. Do you want to see him gone? Really? You think the team will be better with another coach?
I've soured on Tomlin. Great quotes and interviews. Not good enough on Sundays. They have won only 3 playoff games in ~10 years or whatever. The word "stale" comes to mind.
Feels very Andy Reid/Philly. Great coach, but maybe his time is just up there and both sides would benefit from fresh starts elsewhere.
He’s not at all on the same level as Reid. He inherited a hall of fame QB and one of the greatest defenses ever. Since that superbowl loss to GB, he’s been outcoached in every single playoff game. I’m not saying he’s awful but despite his overall record, I would not categorize him anywhere near “great”.
Not comparing the quality of the two coaches, just the situations. He doesn't have a HOF QB or great defense right now, so I'm not sure he'd suffer from a change in scenary.

Andy was stuck after a few years of playoff disappointing losses, then went 8-8, then 4-12, and it was just.... time. Both sides had great success after the split up, and I could see Pitt and Tomlin both benefiting from a fresh start maybe. But I don't know.

I can’t recall - was Reid fired by Lurie or did he “retire “? Because no matter what anyone thinks about Tomlin, the Rooneys don’t fire coaches (especially ones with the class and success of Tomlin). But yes I believe it is time for a change (for both parties).

Trubisky Ain't pickin' Pickens
I'm gonna throw it out there, that Pickens also just might not be all that good. Like he's good at the contested acrobatic stuff, but he also doesn't really separate.

I'm a little concerned Pickens is another Gabe Davis, where he'll pop off with a nice game here and there, but always leave us wanting more.

I don't disagree with this take at all
