***TNF on Prime - Washington 7-3 at Philadelphia 7-2*** (-3.5, 48.5) NFC East Showdown - 8:15 Kickoff (1 Viewer)

Must be getting towards the end of another thrilling NFL game, time for referees to suddenly not know the rules
That was a face mask, he twisted the helmet, that's not legal

That’s not a penalty. He grabbed him where the helmet meets the head.

Terry sucks. Shut up, Terry.
you are the ONLY one not seein git. You can NOT use ANY helmet opening, including the big one around the neck. He grabbed the lip of the helmet near the neck, and pulled...textbook definition of "helmet opening"

No it’s not the helmet opening.

Can these referees see even in slo-mo? Terry sucks.
yes it was. he grabbed underneath and used the helmet for leverage.

Yeah, Terry is talking about the ear hole.

There’s nothing even near the facemask about what he did.

But you are all Eagles fans that are gonna Eagle, so I’m exiting stage left . . . now.
dude....its a helmet opening. ear hold isnt the only other helmet opening

Tell me where this says “helmet opening”

‘Facemask’ rules cover all helmet openings

What is little-known is that football’s “facemask” rules in high school, college and the NFL don’t just cover contact to the facemask, but to any opening in the helmet. That could be grasping the ear hole, the back of the helmet or the chin strap. Turning the helmet by grasping any of those openings is an expensive personal foul.

Why? Because it’s super dangerous, and in paving a path to the future for the sport, safety is key.
