Cowboys: Owens needs another MRI
The News
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Monday night that receiver Terrell Owens may have another MRI exam taken to see why his hamstring continues to bother him after weeks of treatment. "Certainly it is sore and he is going to be working to improve that," Jones told the Associated Press during halftime of Dallas' preseason game. "We will be evaluating it more tomorrow." The hamstring has bothered Owens since training camp opened. He missed the first preseason game, then returned to practice last week, but coach Bill Parcells would not clear him to play.
Our View
Up to this point we have not considered this injury anything major, but if Owens does indeed need another MRI we will be concerned. Terrell has been very limited in practices and is already becoming a thorn in head coach Bill Parcells' side. We will watch this closely, but we fear that all of the media scrutiny surrounding this story will take it's toll. While Owens remains an elite wide receiver, his value is affected with each practice he misses.
