Tom Brady Predictions (As an Analyst) (1 Viewer)

Listening to Brady at eMerge Americas in Miami, a large tech event in Miami. He's good at answering questions about his story in a motivational way. He's a huge draw even at a tech event. Brady moved to Miami, so he represents the transformation of Miami into an international city with a fast growing tech scene. He play steet football, go to fire hydrant, turn right, until high school. Was 7th on the depth chart as a freshman at Michigan. He's a hard worker so maybe he'll succeed at the analyst job. On radio, he was a little vanilla.

Thoughts so far?

Still need to adjust to hearing his voice in this capacity, but he seems to have a lot of good insight like Tony made famous.

His voice does seem a bit bland for this, but it's only game 1.

Meh. So far he seems boring.
It's hard to great at everything. On the Monday radio show he did before Monday night games, he was also bland. This is not unexpected.

I haven’t been listening the whole time, maybe about half in total, but I would give him about a C or C+. Didn’t embarrass himself but also hasn’t been that impressive.

Was hoping he'd be more critical.

I've been watching the 8 and 4 games at once thing today so have not heard a lot of his commentary but on a 4th and 4 when Watson drifted to this left and barely got rid of the ball before being hit, he was trying to tell us that Watson had nowhere to go with the ball and I swear he almost caught himself for a moment when he saw Amari Cooper ridiculously wide open right in the middle of the field. But then he gathered himself and continued with his narrative that no one was open, even when he knew it was not true. Did not want to take a shot at Watson. Was disappointing.

I thought for a former player doing his first game on air, he did well.. Of course there are things he has to improve, but he wasn't bad.

It didn't help that the game was a dud, but Brady wasn't very good today. Just his first game, so you hope he'll get better, but a rough start. A lot of instances where Kevin would finish his play call and then allow his partner to follow up with a quick analysis and there would be dead silence for like 5 seconds or so before Brady would say something. That is a timing thing that will get better over time, but his delivery itself just felt stiff and lacked any personality.

he was fine, feel like there's just haters in this thread.

I didn’t watch the game, only caught snippets from RedZone channel, but I don’t like his voice. I’m sure he’ll get better at the delivery, and I’m certain he has some really great insights to share, I just don’t like the sound of him talking, and I don’t think that’s something they can fix.

The little bit I heard sounded disappointingly generic. But I thought the same of Greg Olsen and apparently he was good.

Obviously brady knows more about football than just about anyone. But he really just has the personality of a wet dishrag. I don't see him ever being great at this.

Just seems like an insane use of resources. Nobody is tuning into a game for the commentators. You could have Fran Drescher call the super bowl and everyone would just watch on mute

I wouldn't be as negative on him if I didn't grow to like Olsen as much as I did. The fact Olsen got pulled for this is really, really lame IMO. Hopefully he improves a lot, otherwise perception becomes reality where he's really just there because of his name and not his skill as an analyst/announcer and it's keeping someone out of a job who was not only better, but well received by most fans.
