Tomorrow may be the bottom in the stock freefall (1 Viewer)

Still no word from our fearless leader..

Let's fast forward about six months and this is the spin we will get from him.

If by chance 10/10 was the bottom, we will hear how he called the Bottom.

If it gets worse, we will be hearing how he predicted that as well.

Looks like a great call by kaa. I moved some cash over Friday in the 401K as my allocation was too cash heavy. I may attempt to play the swings for awhile. This volitility is amazing.

DO not be suckered into a late Friday rally. The down still has some fall left to it. The botton is the day it closes at 7500 +/-100.
Maybe so, but why chase 500 on the bottom when there's more upside. Any conservative investor should be dollar cost averaging in.

 Wish I had gone all cash last Fall and jumped in on Friday, but I didn't, so I am riding this out with my normal contributions every paycheck. Getting out last week will probably end up being a mistake for most as people tend to see a day like today and decide to wait until it goes back down again to buy and if it doesn't then they get the fun of selling at the bottom and buying back in much higher.Unless 2008 = 1929, then there is a good chance we are at or near the bottomof this bear market (there have only been 9 times where the Dow was down 40 percent from the high since 1885). Most of those occurrences were in the Great Depression. It is funny because in many charts I see, they point to the 2007 high of 14000 and it looks like this is a short bear market instead of taking in the whole picture, which is that at the beginning of 2000, almost 8 years prior, the Dow got close to 12000. Heck, in July 1997, the Dow went over 8000, which was at one point, above where we were over 11 years later.

Today's 700-point drop was pretty worrying, especially the way it happened, with the huge selloff at the end.

This should be a double-bottom or a triple bottom. If the friday lows do not hold, we're looking at Dow 4000. Possibly Dow 1000.

You REALLY don't want me to be wrong on this call.

I wonder if Beej ever found a place happy and willing to acknowledge his genius. For all his talk of "lurking in the weeds," recognition was mostly what he really craved. And we crapped all over him. Well, I crapped all over him.
