Tony Scheffler and Ernie Sims being traded? (1 Viewer)

With the Eagles blitz-fast defense, adding a guy with Sims speed for some of the blitz packages will be quite interesting. :excited:
Thats why I like the trade. For what they gave up to get him I am not expecting Ray Lewis. He seems like a guy that could fit in nice with the way the Eagles play defense. He also seems fragile but in a draft where they have too many picks already giving up a 5th on some potential I don't mind at all.
:goodposting: Lifetime Lions fan here. Sims has had NO talent around him. I think he plays well for the Eagles. Nice deal for a championship contending team. I wish Sims well. While I'm interested in what Mayhew has up his sleeve, I'm not a fan of the move. That said, if Mayhew pulls off a trade down that nets us a top tackle (D or O) and extra picks that allow us to land a replacement for Sims and fills needs at CB and RB, I'll be happy.

Here's the latest information I have on Pettigrew's rehab (torn ACL in his left knee)

DET TE Brandon Pettigrew is rehabbing from knee surgery he underwent near the end of the 2009 season (December 22nd surgery to repair a torn ACL in his left knee). Pettigrew said on Tuesday, February 16th that he plans to do what he can during offseason workouts without risking his health. If Pettigrew isn't up to speed by training camp, Will Heller or the newly acquired Tony Scheffler (via 3-way trade with Den/Phi) are likely to start in his place while Pettigrew continues his rehab. The time frame for rehabbing a torn ACL fully is usually around one year (some players manage it in eight months, though). Stay tuned on this one, folks.
It's worth noting that Pettigrew's surgery went well and that he's been running on the knee with minimal swelling for the past month or so... His recovery looks to be going well so far. Link from 04/09/10.
This was Pettigrews second ACL injury to the same knee. I did not like the pick at the time and still do not like it. If you take a TE #1 he had better be a playmaker and or a difference maker. Pettigrew is a decent TE at best but is not the fastest..with two ACLs will he lose a step?

Mayhew has done some good things but wasted a high pick on Pettigrew.
