Trade Deadline Rumors (1 Viewer)

For the love of my fantasy team, please trade Roy Williams. At this point I would rather he be starting for the Raiders than the Lions.

I think Gonzo is about a 50/50 chance. Don't think any other big names get traded.

Too bad Denver and KC play in the same division. Would love to see LJ in Denver.
You'll see a younger faster version once Torain hits the field. At least I hope so since I have him in a dynasty and a keeper league!
I think in the right situation, LJ could be a monster again.Torain is getting a lot of hype. No doubt about it. But if he is THAT good, why wasn't he drafted earlier?

I believe he had an injury his senior year at ASU.

I think a lot had to do with a foot injury last year and slow 40 time. That said, I'm not ready to call him a younger, faster version of LJ.

If the Chiefs are only asking a third rounder for Gonzo I think he gets traded.

Trades are happening more than they used to happen due to an increase in cap space. I would not be so sure about the standard line about trades don't happen. Chambers got dealt last season and Favre, Jason Taylor, Jared Allen and Shockey were huge names traded this offseason. I'd put Gonzo as most likely to get traded but would not be surprised to see another major deal happen.

Lions beat writer Tom Kowalski speculates that Jon Kitna could be on the trade block. The trade deadline is Tuesday at 4PM ET. Kowalski speculates that Kitna could be part of a deal with Dallas, which has lost Tony Romo for a month due to a broken pinkie finger. Kitna's back injury isn't thought to be serious, but it also seems unlikely that he'd be able to help Dallas right away. Source: MLive.com

Dallas must be looking for a QB....
I doubt it. Romo is only going to miss the next 3 games. I doubt they could bring in a new QB who would be a significant upgrade over the next 3 weeks over Brad Johnson and Bollinger since they know the system.I do think this makes them less likely to trade for a WR like Roy Williams. I'm thinking they are going to rely more on the run the next few weeks and with Romo missing time it would not allow him to get much work in with a new WR.

I think the difficulty of assimilating a new player into your system 6 weeks into the season is one of the biggest blocks to trading in the NFL before the deadline. You can see it in team's waiver moves. As players get hurt or cut, teams tend to bring back in the same guys they had in training camp that got cut. They know the system and at least have a chance of contributing right away.

I agree 100% with the bolded part. This is why we will never see trades like in the other sports. I do however think we have and will continue to see an increase as it used to be next to nothing.

I'm not expecting any trades.
Agreed. The NFL rarely makes trades even if it's good for the team. You throw Tony G. into the 2009 draft and some team takes him in the 3rd. You throw Roy Williams and someone probably takes him in the late 1st RD. But trade with a team for that same player using that pick? Forget it.

I wish Tampa would have traded a 2nd round pick last year for Chris Chambers. Instead we drafted Dexter Jackson with the pick.

Of course, there is the peculiar case of Chris Chambers...

There will always be exceptions, and this exception is an interesting one to look at in terms of having to adapt a player to your system. Chambers previously played in Norv Turner's system, so you might envision he would pick up the Chargers offense more easily than if he'd gone to, say, the Eagles.

If Tony G can be had for a 3rd and the Vikings don't do it, I would be speechless.
:hophead:
I am already speechless that about half of the NFL hasn't stepped up already. Sure, I realize you are renting the guy for 3-4 years or so, but I'd rather a guy in that time period capable of putting up 1,000+, 10+ TDs then I am to roll the dice on an underdeveloped player who may or may not EVER put up those numbers.

Nobody is coming, nobody is going. But a lot of fantasy players are furiously abusing themselves over the thought of their favorite player going to their favorite team.

Average career of an NFL player is 3-4 years isn't it? These GMs value their draft picks way too much.

Then there is the flipside. OVervaluing your current player you want to trade.

The Trenton Times reports the Detroit Lions offered WR Roy Williams to the Dallas Cowboys for two No. 1 draft picks, and were turned down. :lmao: REALLY?

The nerve of Dallas, who do they thin they are? The Lions are so clueless.

I agree that NFL teams overvalue their picks when it comes to trading them for proven players. The likelihood of a guy turning into a worthwhile starter isn't that great, especially as you get deeper into the draft. After the third round especially, I'd be happy to trade picks for good character starters with a few years left, especially if I already had a solid core team. Now when you're a team with a lack of talent (think the Lions, Texans, Raiders, etc in recent years), you may want to go with the draft picks (and lots of them) to build up that core group since teams won't normally trade away the kind of player that will be the core of a team.

Dallas must be looking for a QB....
I can't see Dallas trading for a QB, when they can pick up a guy like Culpepper.
why would they pick him up? hes garbage. Id rather have johnson.
I never claimed CPep was better than Johnson. I was just stating that they won't be trading for one when there are guys out there on the wire.
I would love to see M. Bush or Fargas go to Cincinnati. Chris Perry is not the future and he isn't really the present. They need a back desperately and either of those guys would be an upgrade. I could also see IND or DET or HOU being interested in these guys.Any of these deals would help fantasy owners of McFadden, Bush, and Fargas, because three backs is too many for RBBC.

It would be a total waste if Cincy spent a pick on Fargas or Bush. RB is not their problem.

Lol Cards should just go for broke since this is Kurt last year...most likely.

Trade for Gonzo. Boldin/Fitz/Breaston/Gonzo going downfield....me likey

I think Bush would be a great fit in cleveland. Lewis is a nice back to have but I believe Bush could be a differnce maker. His size and speed would fit well in a bruising defensive div. Plus he's young and a great fit for the future. Anyone have any idea what the asking price is for him?
