Trades this season that seemed bad/good at first, then became good/bad (1 Viewer)

Anyone have any stories of trades you did before the season or early in the season that you thought were steals or realized were bad, but in the end ended up the other way around?

Before any games were played, I had a feeling Ryan Mathews and Kevin Kolb would bust. So I traded Kolb, Mathews, and Kellen Winslow for Schaub, Forte, and Colston. A lot of people told me is was dumb, and that Kolb and Mathews were locks to have big years. I told them to sit back and :rant: . While it wasn't the biggest trade considering the disappointment Schaub and Colston have been, as well as Forte basically only having big games or absolute trash ones, I still laugh about it.

 
Traded Torain for Flacco after I lost Romo for the season. The next week Torain left injured, I'd also picked up keiland Williams that week. I feel good about that one.

 
Overpaid for Housh so I needed to get out of his two year contract. I traded Housh away for Braylon Edwards (similar money but only 1 year) and had to throw in Legarrette Blount in week 2 (4 year contract at league minimum) to sweeten the deal. I have a sick feeling I'll be hurting from this trade for the next 3 years...

 
0.5 PPR, Redraft. After week 2, I traded my WR2 Steve Smith (CAR) for Ahmad Bradshaw and have been very happy with the trade ever since.

 
Traded Vick for DeAngelo Williams.

I had Kolb and picked up Vick off the waiver wire.

I felt Kolb would be named the starter again, but we all

know Vick was chosen(correctly by Reid)

Just dropped DW after he was IR'd. :lmao:

I face the Vick owner this week! :banned:

P.S. I had Romo at the time of the trade and now he's gone too!

Oh my. That's a rough sequence of events.
 
TD-heavy league..........

After picking up Hillis off the waiver wire, I traded him and Kevin Walter for Marques Colston thinking I was selling high. Yeah, not so much. I wouldn't have normally looked to trade Hillis but I had Chris Johnson & Michael Turner as my starters and we have no flex. My WRs needed an upgrade.

Also, traded Cutler for Hines Ward 2 weeks before Big Ben came back

 
Traded Romo, Knox & Addai for Flacco, Fitz & Forte. Romo & Addai proceeded to get hurt & Knox hasn't done much of anything. I feel good.

 
Traded Best for D. Jackson in week 5. Was told it was bad, other than the concussion, DeSean's lived up to expectations.

 
Preseason, needed a QB to fill in for Brees' bye. Traded Hillis/Britt for Carson Palmer. I was stacked at RB preseason but sure would like both those guys back now.

I traded Fred Jackson for Garcon right before Garcon's big game against Washington. I thought I made out like a bandit, now the tides have turned...

 
Traded Shonne Green with another year in his rookie contract (keeper league, so new owner has him for next year, too) for Vick and Clayton. Vick got hurt first game I had him. Clayton went out soon after. It was a rough few weeks until Monday night. Things are looking up if I can sneak into the playoffs.

 
Keeper League Auction, 150 dollar cap, 3 year max keepers

Had Chris Johnson from last year at 39 dollars, and due to a stars and scrub auction, had little to nothing behind him. Got a nice offer 2 days before opening Thursday kickoff:

Trade my Chris Johnson (39) & Laurence Maroney (1) for Ryan Matthews (30), Shonn Greene (3), and Ricky Williams (4)

Oh, and because of gaining a player, I had to cut a RB to make some room. I picked that White guy on the Browns....Peyton Hillis (1)

Season is over at 3-7. Probably close to undefeated without that trade.

ouch. that is why I don't trade before season starts.I traded Barber/Bess (after his first huge game) for MWTB / Ronnie Brown. I have since then dropped Brown, but I traded MWTB for Orton after losing Romo.

traded roddy white for J best after week two. If I had kept white, my starting WR lineup would be white, nicks, AJ. Now I'm stuck with Santanna Moss as my 3rd till Vjax comes nack

Hmmm- With VJAX in the wings and Schaub as QB1 I traded Big Ben and Nicks for Favre and Marshall just as the Moss trade from NE was going down...Only to see Nicks light it up and Favre pretty much flame out. Not to mention Marshall sliding. :kicksrock:

A team in my redraft league actually has that trio at WR. His 4th is TO. He also has Foster and Mendenhall. Going to be a tough out in the playoffs. Anyway, my contribution isn't anything groundbreaking. I traded Torain for Harvin around week 5 or so. The same guy who I traded Torain to then traded ADP and Mike Thomas for DeAngelo and Jennings. I'm sure he'd like a mulligan or two right about now.
 
In our dynasty rookie draft, which is held the week after the NFL draft. I traded Arian Foster to the guy that drafted Tate for a 4th round pick. :yes:
