My wife and I have wanted to see them for several years, but just haven't got around to it.

This year, we resolved to go!  We went last night.  It isn't a concert, it's a theatrical experience!  Crazy laser show with over the top pyrotechnics.

I would say the guitarists are ok, but taking the entire experience as a whole it was amazing!

I went many years ago b/c the wife wanted to go.  We both thought it was pretty ridiculous.  It was a bunch of guys that looked like they were in a bad 80's hair band. There was also some black old dude telling stories at times and at other times sitting on a stool playing air guitar while the hair band took over.  I'm glad you enjoyed it though.

I will admit halfway thru the show I leaned over and told the wife the guitarist thought it was 1986.

However, on a purely entertainment level, it was fun.  Over the top, but still fun.

My wife and I took our 16yo son to a show earlier this week.  He saw the word "orchestra" in the name and automatically assumed he'd hate it.  It was closer to a rock concert than a symphony.  We all thoroughly enjoyed it.

To be fair, they were in a bad 80's hair band

Savatage was not really a hair band. They were not pretty enough. The original lead guitar player was also criminally underrated. I still love TSO. For those of us that still love 80s metal, TSO puts a nice metal twist to the beat down Xmas music.

We took our kids (at the time 16, 12 and 8) a few years ago and we all loved it.  Lots of fun and plenty to watch.  Loved it.  They hit SLC every year but it is always before Thanksgiving.  Wish it were after, but that is better than after Christmas when some cities get them.

Funny how the world works - Russia 's been sending trans people to Siberia for so long that they were able to form a band and it ends up that their original oppression gives such positive exposure to the trans community that it's become a Holiday must-see for the entire fa......huh?......nm

We went last year because my wife and her friend love some of their Christmas songs.

Definitely not what we were expecting. It is not all Christmas music and the hacky Lifetime-story that they have accompany it is just weird as hell. We left halfway through.

We didn't make it the whole way either. Once they played the three songs we wanted to hear we bailed. Stayed a lot longer than we should have but the ridiculousness of the show at least lent itself to some good one liners while we waited.

Anyone seen this lately? Wife was gifted tickets for this Saturday and asked me to go
in the past i worked part-time at a venue that hosted concerts. have heard this show a few times.

it's very popular for some reason. you have to really like Christmas music... a sort of soft hard rock/metal lite rendition of said songs.. be really in to the stage show/pageantry or all three.

it's very................................................................... white.

You should pass
Went. And it was...different. Music was ok. Never got me  :headbang:  but didn’t put me to  . Lasers/lights/pyro kinda cool. Didn’t feel like the “story” really added anything to the show. That part was just weird to me. Wide range of people in attendance. Surprising number of very old people and (even more) very young people. Seemed to be an overall festive and positive message conveyed but didn’t think it was really something for young kids. Even saw some folks with infants there. Seriously, WTF is with people who do that? Anyways, it was entertaining enough I guess. Wife dug it more than me. I’d go again if we were given tix again but I don’t think I’d pay to see it at this point.
