Tre Mason (2 Viewers)

I honestly hope he goes off for 200 & 4 TDs. Not because I own him but because of your negative attitude.

Guys are excited about the guys potential and for good reason and you're just a snarky ##### for the sake of being a snarky #####.
Honestly, it's sad to know that there is anyone else on earth that gives a #### about my fake football team. :lmao:

Even if your dreams are answered (again... very sad) I won't get to enjoy reading your "I told you so!" as I will have checked out for 2014.
Who's interested in your fantasy team? What dreams?

You're not only a ####, you're delusional.
That didn't happen by the way.

Can't play Oakland every week
i had the audacity to point that out last week and pretty much got slapped down on this board
Me too.
There is a big difference with how you guys put it though. He doesn't play oak every week or he has a tough match up this week.
oh ...well i was listening to soulfly...he made him sound like the second coming of Christ...my bad

Sort of Jesus Christ/Jim Brown hybrid actually. Though Christ had better numbers at the combine.

It's true. There was some serious need to pump the brakes on this guy. There was a Bo Jackson reference for Pete's sake.

Lol. No knock on Mason but the Raiders pretty much lied down for him.

After his huge run they did...

Leveon Bell has had rushing games of 36, 20, 56, 63 and 59yds.

Some of you are ridiculous.

Newsflash: NOONE puts up 100/1+ EVERY SINGLE GAME

But you guaranteed the absolute, undisputed supremacy of Tre Mason versus that of Zac Stacy (not Leveon Bell).

Mason has done 30% less than Zac Stacy's 2013, so Mason has three games to make that up and then far exceed Stacy's number to fulfill that prediction.

I sincerely hope Mason does it, but it seems Mason will be lucky to just break-even versus that of the performance of Zac Stacy.

:goodposting: I wish there was a great posting emoticon.

But let's not be this hard on Mason so as to compare him to Bell.

Guess who had these games his rookie and second year...

11-29-0

17-24-0

18-62-0

Yup, Mason's body-double and slightly-less-talented peer...Jim Brown.

These are stone cold facts. Indisputable. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/B/BrowJi00/gamelog/

To compare those 2 is just silly.

Really silly.
You realize Im not "comparing" the two, right?

Im giving a reality check of how even the BEST rb in the league has put up some stinky rushing games
Hey again I like Mason but to suggest he's going to be a top back in this league, or even consistent back, is way to premature. Your pom-poms are working OT to be honest. At the end of the day, he had 1 ridiculous game and against a Raider team who clearly didn't want to play that day. My opinion he's more of a complimentary 'spiller/ellington' type rb who are not built to run it between the tackles. It remains to be seen if Mason can as well.

Are you crazy? He's better than Jim Brown was at this stage in his career! :lmao:

My pom pom's have been out since college. I was in here prior to the season sticking my neck out that he would take over the lead role in STL, and I got hammered for it.

The evidence is all in this thread.

And in the end, I was more than correct. I even said by midseason - also correct

I believe in mason's talent, and his vision/power/speed/elusiveness are built for a lead role, imo.

If some of you want to remain cautious, that's cool with me... Im not here to make your picks or help you draft. I acquired him in all leagues, dynasty and otherwise, and I am more than happy I did.

He's his body double, well minus 5 inches and 30 pounds

Some of you are ridiculous. Who cares about his height and weight? His feet (you know, what running backs use to actually run) are spitting images of one another. They both have unusually large right pinky toes. That's where you get the power. I've been saying that since his first day at Auburn. It's all over this thread.

Anyone else feeling like this Cardinals run defense isn't as scary as it looked earlier in the season? They got shredded by Jamaal Charles last week, but most teams do... but even SJax ran for 100 yds against them of all people the week before.

I'm in a bind with injuries at my flex spots to Torrey Smith, plus some uncertainty in Eddie Lacy & Julio Jones, and I'm not totally confident R. Jennings won't lose carries again to Andre Williams in a tough matchup vs. WAS. So I'm thinking of firing early on Thursday night with Tre and looking for positives.

Hill and his receiving crew won't be scaring anyone, but if you want to take any positives it's that neither is Stanton and the Cards running game. Plus, the Rams defense is playing lights out, so there may be a lot of offensive opportunities for Mason, even if he winds up with a pedestrian YPC.

In a similar boat with Julio and his uncertainty. This Thursday start complicated things...

I don't feel like I can trust Mason this week in a tough divisional matchup against a stout Arizona run D. I almost feel more compelled to go with Latavius Murray. Of course trusting a Raider in the fantasy playoffs feels like suicide as well.

Same boat and doing the same thing. At least we've seen Murray blow up against KC...

This is nonsense. He's MUCH better than Stacy. Stacy received the workload in the third game and was active for all of them last year.

Mason didn't even receive a touch until 10/13.

Zac Stacy started getting the ball October 6, 2013. Mason October 13, 2014.

Throw the bye week in there for good measure to help your argument, and there is still no way to make the case that YTD Mason has been as good a fantasy performer this year as Zac Stacy was last year. Sorry.

Any other point is still up for grabs (of course):

  • Mason could kick butt the rest of the way...even though he has a long way to go to catch up to Stacy, but he could
  • Mason's ADP next year will probably be where Stacy's was this year; if he actually performs to that ADP next year then of course we'd all say Mason is better.
But your claim (ie "much better") regarding 2013 Stacy vs YTD 2014 Mason is just plain false. But hey, I hope to hel* Mason catches up in the next few games.

I just hope I win this week so I can start him against the Giants in week 16.
Looks like a good matchup there.

Many seem to be stuck in the same predicament for this week...

Mason

Blount

Herron

Im leaning Mason, but the hesitation is that Cunningham looked as good to my eye as he ever looked last week. Still undecided....

I'm going herron over mason. Cards are tough and although mason will get the carries I can see a week like last week.

Seeing herron in at the goal line on the winning drive was big to me and in a PPR league he has the better chance for a big game.

Love the kid.

Love his talent.

Love his situation.

A supposed tough defensive matchup doesnt scare me - he's put up solid ypc against the best of em

Yup...at my RB2 Im going Ingram over Mason, Crow, L. Murray, and Herron. In my other league Im going Mason over Matthews and Evans in the flex.

why is that a benchmark? or relevant?
