Trent Richardson owners: Are you starting him this week @ SF? (1 Viewer)

Yeah this dec between trich and pierce is easily the toughest so far this season. I think it's a good problem to have though. I could see both backs playing well. Neither matchup is easy though. It would be a whole lot quicker decision if one of these guys was playing a softer def
I have the exact same decision. I'm starting Richardson.

Christopher Harris was talking about this on his podcast, and he said if he owned Richardson he'd start him out of sheer joy that he isn't in Cleveland anymore.

That's funny because if I'm not mistaken Harris ranked Pierce 9th this week and Richardson much lower.

I am going with pierce. Too many unknowns with trich. If he has a big game, so be it. I just find it hard to belive after 2 days of practice he's going to take 20 + touches. .. Pierce knows the system, is at home, and the only rb in the stable. Trich will def be back in my lineup next week vs jax though. He's gonna be a nice play in that one

still dont trust him this week to get the bulk. going to go with b. pierce and j.bell.

sadly, even if trent was still with cleveland i was leaning the same way...

I've got the same issue as a few above. I can start three of T. Richardson, D. Richardson, Morris, and Pierce. Right now I'm excluding Trent, but if Rice magically plays, I'll be monitoring down to the last minute to throw Trent in there.

I'm gonna feel really stupid if Trent goes off, but he just seems like the most risky option of the four. Also the highest reward...but I'm not much of a gambler.

got him in over Ridley right now. T Rich's 5 points might be sexier than Ridley's 5 points what do you think?
Your choice only has merit because Ridley is facing a tough defense. It's hard to go with Richardson when he (probably) doesn't know most of the plays.

No way am I going to risk it. I will wait until next week. Tough matchup too. I am starting Gordon over him at ppr flex. Might be just as risky.

Harris was just on 97.5 in Philly. I called in and he said Pierce over Richardson FWIW.

i expect about 5 points from each of these guys. but that's also been Ridley's peak score thus far. :kicksrock:

It's only been two weeks - and he's played two defenses with good front lines - of course this week they get no relief with the Bucs, but I couldn't go with a guy who may get less than ten snaps.

sitting him with confidence....

Indy vs SF is a tough match up for any RB.... let alone one with limited knowledge of the playbook and practice time.

Plugged him in over spiller this mornin. Hoping for tds.
I don't understand this unless you're in a TD heavy league. I have both and no way would I sit Spiller for him. Spiller can go 99 yards on any play. Richardson can't get even twenty.
thats exactly why I keep goin back and forth. Especially with all the touches spiller has gotten the past two weeks. Ill probly swap em back out. I just got a gut feeling about trich this week.

I have no choice to play him (or play Bradshaw).....was hoping Mendenhall would be out so maybe Ellington would see first team action...

I'm starting Richardson. Granted, I don't have excellent options at the position but I don't want him to be on the bench if he has a good game. On a good offense, it doesn't take nearly as much to be productive.

Between him and Gio Bernard, leaning with T-Rich because I don't think amount of touches will be an issue whereas who knows with Bernard. Still not an easy decision.

I've decided to sit him. My options are pretty strong though, and if they weren't he'd be in the lineup. Pierce, Morris, and D. Richardson are getting the call this week. DeAngelo and Trent riding the pine.

Werder reported 10-15 touches for him today
With that news, and the general uncertainty i'm going with Bernard. Could also start Wilson but need to see something from him first. Bernard it is, with something approaching confidence.
Richardson is not coming off injury he is shifting offense and can easily be told his assignment in the huddle. Did people think about sitting Lynch last week because he was playing San Francisco? If they did they probably lost with those 3 TDs on the bench. Trent will be better than most players with 20 touches with his 15. His team is a good one now he will not be the only focal point anymore.

TRich was a 1st round fantasy selection.

Never sit your studs.
I dont have him this year anywhere but T-Rich was not drafted as a 1st rounder for a short week/new playbook/new offensive scheme/new coach/new personnel

If he had the off-season to prepare fine but I can see why people will sit him this week.

Um, no, but they might have if he had been traded to Seattle a few days before.

I hope you're right!

Not sure how credible so take it as you will...

ESPN's Ed Werder reports the Colts plan to give Trent Richardson 10-15 touches in his debut with the team on Sunday against San Francisco.

I'll roll with Moreno and Miller in leagues and wait till next week against Jax.

Gone back and forth with him...have him in 3 leagues.

PPR league Im going with Gio over him. Just a hunch that Gio gets in some good work reception wise this week making him the better play.

TD heavy league...went with Gore and Moreno over Richardson this week.

Standard league is the one I am really back and forth on...Bush already out...right now Moreno, Pierce and Starks are in my lineup. But close to putting Trent in over Starks.

I am going to sit him. I can flex him, but I am going with Carson Palmer and Miles Austin in my flex positions and Spiller and Pierce at RB. I just don't know how many carries TRich is going to get and I don't want to have to rely on a TD to get decent points.

Starting over bradshaw and wilson, but i'm not happy about it.

I figured of the 3, i'd be most pissed about richardson scoring on my bench

Happy to say I chose Trent over Pierre Thomas. We'll see if it was the right choice after this game is over, though.
