True Detective: Tom went in to listen to the Cardinals game...in November. Mmmmmhmmmm... (2 Viewers)

i tried to wach sons of anarchy but when they went to ireland and changed the theme song i said that is enough of that crap you go fight leprechans on your own time i would rather just watch the brewers lose because it stinks but at least they did not turn roll out the barrel in to an irish jig take that to the bank brohans

i have never watched one single second of this show but i bet it is about a billion times better than sons of anarchy that show sucked some serious you know what bromigos take that to the bank
I made it through 3 episodes of Sons of Anarchy. The carny fist fight was the end for me.
You missed out.
On bad stuff?
The thread was fun. It was like all of the shtick of this thread without the 300 different posters whose "critiques" are the same thing over and over.

Maybe also a huge regrettable waste of time.

Also, I started watching last week, so the thread wouldn't have worked for me.

In the end Jax apparently realizes he can't ever separate his lives of being an outlaw biker and family man and does the logical thing and rides straight into a semi truck, in Jesus Christ pose. And it's obviously a green screen.

And the truck is driven by Michael Chiklis. I swear I'm not making any of this up.

This could not have been a waste of anybody's time.

"I thought you wanted me to share? This is a safe circle, right?"

"Hell, yes, it is"

"Hey, let her share, man."

"Yeah."

"Yeah."

This basically sums up my feelings about this season of True Detective. On Sunday night I watched Masters of Sex, Ballers, Ray Donovan, The Strain, Naked and Afraid XL and Bachelor in Paradise. Then Monday I watched Bachelor in Paradise and Bachelor in Paradise: After Paradise before I decided to watch the season finale of True Detective.

Velcro told McAdams that he'd figure out how to make it, by stealing a car or something.

All he had to do was jack any of the cars that were lining the streets of the school when he found the transponder.

Yeah and I dont get the driving to a secluded forest trying to get away from professionals. However once there why not just hide? Or at least keep picking them off one by one instead of just jumping out waiting to get shot? Why didnt he pick up a automatic rifle from one of the dead dudes? Nothing in the last 2 episodes made sense.

Why did the bad dudes even need a transponder when Velcoro was literally right in front of them? Why not just pull up beside him when he got back in?

so there were 8 episodes, right? the first 7 were 60 minutes each for a total of 420 minutes. then the finale was 90 minutes.

so that's a grand total of 510 wasted minutes of my life that I'll never get back. what a ####### mess this show was. I can't recall a show that had such a stellar first season, then a total dumpster fire the second.

and Colin Farrell really showed what an amazing actor he is. but that's like being the fastest turd in the S###lympics.
I like Colin Farrell but his manly gruff voice was awful. I couldn't understand half of what he was mumbling.

Because they wanted to follow him to Bezzerides too

If he was smart he should have stopped and filled up with gas and just outlasted the SUV. But there I go again thinking rationally.

Just thinking that someone with over 18,000 message board posts to a fantasy football site might not want to throw stones. Not judging, just saying.

No, Jaysus is correct. People watch way too much TV. Message board posts are irrelevant. I think most of us post at work and just kill time.

Classic case of a show runner/writer getting way too much freedom after a great first effort.
What? You realize he had that same freedom in season 1 right? Because all of this is his idea as the creator.

Why wouldn't he have complete autonomy? His mistake was not taking on the right executive producers, like the kind that actually do work (not like Matthew McConaughey).

He needs some help with the writing and some with the editing, but this is his show and should have as much freedom as he wants IMO.
From a writing standpoint, he had autonomy in Season One but you're underselling the difference between having an entire season directed by one guy who could figure out a way to harness his story...and using like 8 different directors for Season Two mainly because of how much he ####### hated sharing any of the credit with the director of Season One. Not to mention how much he surely hated that the most revered moment of Season One wasn't anything story specific, but a camera shot.

That certainly was a lot of cop cars.

While I'm sure there are worse shows/seasons of TV out there, this is probably the worst I've watched through its ending and probably the most disappointing. It didn't just fail to meet expectations though. It was plain old bad.

They wanted to kill him, but also needed to know where Bessarides was.
