Newberry is seriously considering retirement at this point.

Newberry was on injurred reserve at the end of the season:
"(Nov. 28, 2005) -- San Francisco placed center Jeremy Newberry on the injured reserve on Monday, ending his season early for the second straight year."
Heitman filled in just fine, and that is when Gore actually had some of his best games. Having Larry Allen and Jonas Jennings on the left side will probably help him.

I know Newberry was out last year too, but in the off season, quite a few times I heard Gore backers say that getting Newberry back will help the OL. I guess not.....
