Carwin simply can't stay healthy. Such a waste. With his age and injury history, he should probably hang em up sooner than later. What the hell is wrong with Carwin? Nelson vs. Meathead now? <_<I'm more annoyed with the injuries than the new matchup, I guess.
Looks about right. If GSP wins it will be a decision. Silva could win multiple ways.GSP / Anderson Silva lines open....Silva -180GSP +155

it seems a lot of people love the line for Anderson and feel that he should be a bigger favorite. I'm not so sure, the way Chael performed makes me think GSP certainly has a clear path to victory. I also think the weight they fight at is the biggest factor, if it's closer to 170 i like GSP more and more. I also think Anderson's speed advantage won't be as evident against GSP as it was with the Bonner's and Griffin's we have seen. i just really hope the fight actually happens this time, and we don't spend months just talking about it. And everyone say their prayers.... no injuries!!Looks about right. If GSP wins it will be a decision. Silva could win multiple ways.GSP / Anderson Silva lines open....Silva -180GSP +155
Imagine if Silva gets the opportunity for a head kick like the one Condit got. I can definitely see this fight going either way, but GSP is a smart fighter and I think he'll look to take this one to the ground earlier than usual.'modogg said:it seems a lot of people love the line for Anderson and feel that he should be a bigger favorite. Keith is all fired up and ready to go.Headliner for the fight, BTW, is Nick Newell, the one-armed dude who is 8-0 as a pro.so if any of you guys happen to be in the Nashville area, a couple of my buddies are fighting there Dec 7 - will be broadcast on AXS.

it'll move to Spike in a few weeks, definitely worth catchingand good news on the UFC front, sounds like Cyborg will try to get to 135 and fight Rousey!!!! first thought it would be 157, but i am sure it is coming soon. going to be the headline bout, i think i will buy that card out of principal to support WMMA.and maybe the best news of the week.....Steven Seagal is trying to call Randy Couture out of retirement for a fight. Would LOVE to see that fightI don't think I get MTV2.![]()
Doesn't sound like its happening anymore. I don't think that'd be a very good move by the UFC either. They need to pimp Rousey as much as they can to get WMMA going. Her losing to Cyborg, a horrifying looking women who can't speak english, would be terrible for them. Not promote-able at all.'modogg said:it'll move to Spike in a few weeks, definitely worth catchingand good news on the UFC front, sounds like Cyborg will try to get to 135 and fight Rousey!!!! first thought it would be 157, but i am sure it is coming soon. going to be the headline bout, i think i will buy that card out of principal to support WMMA.I don't think I get MTV2.![]()

Maybe. But you could put them on a couple cards together before they fight each other.Cyborg off steroids and 10 pounds lighter would likely lose to Rousey.Doesn't sound like its happening anymore. Is there any chance they could get Carano to come back for a fight? She was suppose to fight last year but was removed from the Strikeforce card for reasons unknown to me. Carano did fight at 143 I think so this would be a doable fight from a weight cut stand point.Maybe. I'd guess that she makes way to much as an "actress" to bother fighting anymore. I recall she also had problems making weight a few times; no idea what weight it was.Is there any chance they could get Carano to come back for a fight? UFC president Dana White presented the women's bantamweight title belt to Ronda Rousey on Thursday, then announced that she will make her first defense on Feb. 23 against Liz Carmouche.
The five-round title bout will headline UFC 157 at Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.
Rousey and Carmouche will become the first women mixed martial artists to compete in UFC.
UFC officials worked diligently to encourage former Strikeforce women's featherweight champion Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos to take the fight against Rousey at 135 pounds, but according to White, she refused.
Despite Santos' reluctance, White is confident the highly anticipated bout will eventually happen.
"That was obviously the fight (Rousey against Santos) we wanted to make at 135 pounds," White said. "We worked hard to make that fight.
"This fight (Rousey-Carmouche) will happen and I truly believe the next one will be the Cyborg fight -- this fight first, then Cyborg at 135 pounds.
"(Carmouche) wanted to fight her. Believe me, people aren't kicking the doors down at Zuffa to fight her."
Rousey signed a multifight deal with UFC in November, officially relinquishing her Strikeforce title.
She claimed the Strikeforce 135-pound title on March 3 with a first-round armbar submission of Miesha Tate.
The 2008 Olympic judo bronze-medal winner is 8-0 as a professional mixed martial artist. She has won all of her fights by armbar submission.
"I've got a lot of respect for Liz," Rousey said. "She's the only one who stepped up and said she wanted this fight right now."
Carmouche (7-2) has won two consecutive fights. Her bid for the Strikeforce bantamweight title was thwarted on March 5, 2011, when then-champion Marloes Coenen submitted her in the fourth round.
Santos is serving a year-long suspension after she tested positive for a banned substance following her featherweight title victory over Hiroko Yamanaka in December 2011.
What's up pal. I still watch everything just don't have the time to look into it nearly as much as I used to. Quick glance and I like quite a few dogs but I'd need to rewatch some old fights to confirm. Shogun +195 is definitely sticking out to me at the moment.SHEER ooh nice seeing you lurking Sheer. any plays for the weekend? i like Nate i think though bendo loses me money quite a bit. got some others i like too, fun card. give us a breakdown old head..........
I think the free fights on Fox are great for the UFC. Especially to attract new fans.Nate Diaz is one of my favorite guys to watch and he's seemingly been on quite a few of these televised events (Fox/Spike).Do you guys think these free fights are working well for UFC? I know I (a fringe fan) have gotten more into UFC because of it.

If you like the free fights, tune in to AXS tonight to watch my buddy Keith. He will be in the first televised fight at 10:00 EST. This isn't the UFC, but there are some talented fighters who haven't quite made it big-time just yet.linkDo you guys think these free fights are working well for UFC? i think i stay away from that one, will put Gustafason in a parlay. Got some nice cash built at 5dimes, like the idea of putting a few parlays mixing NFL and UFC this weekend.i have to look into some more too, but i know i got quite a bit on Diaz so far. I read a good article about how he has a strong advantage and the right tools to win a lot of his fights, specifically against Hendo. It was either in the Fight magazine or Fighter's Only, have to dig through those tonight to remember the details. Made some real good pointsWhat's up pal. Caught the very end of this. Newell won the belt.Headliner for the fight, BTW, is Nick Newell, the one-armed dude who is 8-0 as a pro.
Nice submission win.Rousey is one of those fighters that you just don't bet against. When the odds are long just lay off and enjoy watching her mangle another arm.just saw the odds for this at 5dimes:Rousey -1500Carmouche +750have to be honest, i am tempted to take Carmouche. Ton of pressure on Rousey here...

Pretty interesting that the fighters have it even. I think Bendo will put on his best GSP impersonation and lay on Nate for 25mins. Hopefully Nate can get some good exchanges in before hitting the ground and maybe pull off a submission. Bendo is probably one of the toughest guys to submit in the game though.Pros Picking Diaz: 13Pros Picking Henderson: 13No Pick: 5
the card is a stacked one, and will be fun to watch. Not a ton of value (i think) betting wise, but still some we can pull out of there:I guess the plays i like the best for now are Diaz +135, and Easton -245. Njiem -180 and Cuishank -150 are good pays too.absolutely love the ability to parlay NFL and UFC on 5dimes, bigStoked about the fights tonight.Dont know a ton of the guys that are fighting, but for some reason I am amped.
man, i hope not. Has to be Dana and Fox's worst nightmare too, both Nate and Bendo have something like 9 Fight of the Nights between them. I'm banking on seeing the same Nate that wrecked Jim Miller coming out tonight, and if that is the case he will be alrightMy link

I would usually agree, but but her first fight on a PPV card as the headliner has to be a whole lot of pressure, especially since Dana has basically put the future of Women's MMA on her shoulders. I'm willing to put a little on +750 that all of that pressure may throw her off a bit. I haven't seen a ton of Carmouche yet thoughRousey is one of those fighters that you just don't bet against. Tim Means off UFC on Fox 5 after he slipped in the sauna when cutting weight
It's been a rough run of bad luck for UFC president Dana White.
Just over 24 hours from the start of UFC on Fox 5, the card had one more change due to an accident that puts some stock in the theory the UFC is cursed in 2012.
Lightweight Tim Means was supposed to face Abel Trujilo in the preliminary fights that will air on FX on Saturday. While cutting weight for Friday's weigh-in, Means slipped and fell in the sauna. UFC president Dana White tweeted Means knocked himself out.
LeVesseur had been scheduled to fight Michael Chiesa, but he scratched late last week due to illness. Now, he's back on the card and preparing for the next day for his opponent. Most fighters prepare for an opponent for at least six weeks.
The UFC has had a run of injuries in 2012 that bordered on unbelievable. Champions Dominick Cruz, Jose Aldo and Georges St-Pierre all took extended breaks from fighting because of injury. Dan Henderson's knee injury before his scheduled UFC 151 bout with light heavyweight champ Jon Jones led to the cancellation of the Labor Day weekend event. In May, the all-heavyweight main card of UFC 146 had to be reworked several times because of injury.
And now, even as the end of 2012 nears, Forrest Griffin and Chris Weidman both had to pull out of the year-end UFC 155 event. This is all topped off by a fighter slipping and falling the day before an event. 2013 can't come quickly enough for the UFC.
