UFC wagering: no longer stuck with the old thread title. The window to change it is here! (7 Viewers)

100% agree he should ditch the title if his next fight isn't defending it.

Not sure why he cares so much. He could talk so much #### towards Aldo (the likely FW champ) about it not being a real belt.
And then go get it whenever he wants.  Seems like the best thing to do honestly.

He definitely wants to hold two belts simultaneously, even if it's just for a minute.  RDA sort of robbed him of that opportunity, followed by a Nate Diaz choke.

I would say it applies to Conner, but certainly to a much lesser degree then Punk. I think when you look at Conner's first couple of fights in the UFC he certainly was able to avoid fighters with a strong grappling/wrestling base.

i would also say that this is the same for probably 15-20% of fighters. some are obvious like the Northcutt's and PVZ, but I am sure there are other examples. could also be all on the fighters as well to pick and choose which fights they want and refuse to sign off on others. Not really a big deal and Conner has certainly earned this right with how much he has brought into the company (i.e. if Conner faced 1-2 wrestlers before he fought Aldo when he was still developing I don't know if the McGreggor effect would have ever gotten to where it is now and the UFC would cost itself millions of dollars)
So Mendes on two weeks notice?

Silva is exactly the type of fighter Roy puts away easily.  The only thing that might save him is the height/reach difference, but even tiny ### Cormier was able to KO Silva.

Time to give Phillipe "the next GSP :lmao: " Nover his walking papers again. Guy is 1-5 in the UFC and showed NOTHING. Not once. Gift he was given 2nd chance in UFC. Definitely belongs at lower levels of MMA. Can't believe he was given the opportunity to partcipate in the co-main on any UFC card.

UFC 247 main event:    Werdum + Big Country in a handicapped match against Edmond, Big John McCarthy, and Hong Man Choi in a mask under the name "Seoul Man"

Cyborg looked noticeably less big and less ripped.   Not that it mattered.

It's a ridiculously good card, best in years IMO (although 200 with the actual intended lineup would have matched it). Either Cerrone-Gastellum or Edgar-Stephens is probably going to have to be on the prelims (along with Rashad-Kennedy and Miller-Alves) which is ridiculous. The prelims will be better than most of the recent fight pass cards lately.

Yeah, how much money do you think RDA cost himself pulling out of that fight?  You think over a million, or just hundreds of thousands?

Diaz got $500k + ppv for first fight. So that would be the minimum.

Had he beaten Conor, he cost himself millions.

Shame.

Not that I care. But there's gonna be some abbreviated training camps for a lot of fighters. Although this might be a good thing in that it could prevent over-training and injuries.
