I really hope that Tuivasa hangs around as he steps up in comp. He has high entertainment potential.
Yeah, made for some really entertaining fights. There were a lot of heavy chins last night. Some of those guys took shots that would have killed me ten times over.
love the rugby guys. Shoot the Boot!!NutterButter said:Some fun fights tonight. Tai Tuivasa just chugged a beer out of a fan's shoe on the way back to the locker room.
I couldn't tune in till the Alvez fight, but I'm in.Looks like no one is watching the fights tonight, but this has been a great card.

I didn't watch this card yet -- probably will go just snag highlights.
I know him pretty well from the MMA Lab. He's a really great guy, super nice. And so damn athletic. Like, more athletic than anyone in the gym. He does things to heavy bags that blow my mind.Bruce Leeroy is now 3-6 in his last nine fights. I guess being entertaining provides you with some job security.
I’m surprised to see Khabibs takedown percentage that “low”.NewlyRetired said:it is so rare these days that I see a card that I know almost every fighter well. But UFC 223 has that look:

of course now that I am excited, it is sure to be ravaged by injuries.
Saunders Gets KO’dAnyone watching tonight? Ronaldo-Jouban notched a maaaaaaassive KO on Saunders, crumpled him in a Napão/Cro Cop bent-leg heap.
Then Hill/Moroz stunk up the joint. At least Hill won. Pretty sure I auto-hate every fighter who kiais all fight long.
Also, Yahya is so damn slick on the ground, even though he’ll never be more than a midcarder.
Tall gangly dudes have a special way of getting cartoonishly KTFO. Struve has some monstrous ones too.
id be shocked if his jaw wasnt dislocated after that shotTall gangly dudes have a special way of getting cartoonishly KTFO. Struve has some monstrous ones too.
glad to hear (the nice part, not that he sucks). always seemed like he had good potential because of that athleticism and he seems to enjoy the training/learningI know him pretty well from the MMA Lab. But he kind of sucks as a fighter. He just doesn't keep his hands up, and he tries to rely too much on his athleticism. If he would be more disciplined in his standup and focus on form and technique instead of trying to be entertaining, he'd win a lot more fights.
If no belt is on the line, I’d say this main event fight is pretty standard for a ufc on fox show. Also, I have no idea how we ended up with a Stephens/Emmett main event. Lawd. I could not possibly care less. BOTH of them qualify for “who tf is that”, but one Lamas KO and here we are.
I seriously don’t know if I’d even heard of Emmett before the Lamas fight.Bobcat10 said:If no belt is on the line, I’d say this main event fight is pretty standard for a ufc on fox show.
How does Dan Mergulata still have a job? He's the worst.Clayton Gray said:Stephens should have been disqualified. Two elbows to the back of the head and then the knee.
No he’s not. Mario Yamasaki is the reigning, defending, undisputed worst referee in the world. How does Dan Mergulata still have a job? He's the worst.
I thought the one angle showed the knee was a total whiff besides a slight contact when his leg was working back towards the mat?Clayton Gray said:Stephens should have been disqualified. Two elbows to the back of the head and then the knee.
he missed by hair...but the intent was thereI thought the one angle showed the knee was a total whiff besides a slight contact when his leg was working back towards the mat?
I guess I get the elbow debate, but it was close and in the moment I can see how it was let go. Probably was over either way.
But that doesn’t matter. Although these guys always have intent to knock someone into oblivion.he missed by hair...but the intent was there
it would have mattered if he had landed that knee...would have been DQ`d and suspendedBut that doesn’t matter. Although these guys always have intent to knock someone into oblivion.
Is it possible he thought Emmett was getting up?
I have no experience, but I’ve always thought this is a very difficult situation for a fighter.
And he'll be juiced to the gills again because the UFC will allow him to be. This is #1 BULLSIT!!In other news, Brock Lesnar sounds like he is coming back.
