Uh Oh, Fred Jackson hurt (1 Viewer)

Jackson got over 1/5 of his yards for the season in one game against a 3rd string Colts D that weren't even trying. Take away that one game and you have a below average season for a starting RB.
:goodposting: Jackson was the 12th highest scoring RB in weeks 1-16 in my league.
In what format? In a standard PPR league scoring...Fred Jackson finished 19th among RB's. I think it's a valid point....the Colts were playing for nothing.

I owned hqim last year and he would just kill you some games. Unless you think Spiller is a total bust that simply can't play in the nil I don't see how you think he won't start the season. Meaning if he plays well he's probably going to take the starting job and run with it.

People need to seriously rethink their stance on this kid considering these injuries just made him the defacto number one. I mean he just went from 30% pf the snaps with the starters to 70%. That alone is huge. The fact both guys project to be out game 1 and possibly game 2 makes it even more likely that he secures it for the season.

Their first two games are v Miami and at green bay. I see no reason why he couldn't bust out some big games with that opportunity.

Both of those teams have solid to good defenses. GB was one of the best run D's in the league last season....Miami drafted Dan Williams in the first round to anchor the unit and signed Carlos Dansby....so they will be much improved as well.

Dan Williams? Jared Odrick is the guy they drafted. And the Miami defense has some real question marks. Not siding with C but Miami is not in the top half of defenses right now. They have largely unproven OLB and their DL is pretty iffy with Starks rolling to NT, Odrick and Misi both rookies playing in the front 7, Merling is gone for the season too. Check out the Miami Dolphins thread, I went over their performance in last night's game. I was largely unimpressed.

Green Bay did look strong last year but was torn to shreds by AZ in the playoffs. They have a lot of work to do there.

Regardless unless bell beats him in camp (no way IMO) he's going to get 60-70% of the carries in that first game and probably the second as well. He'll have the opportunity to take the job for the season in those two games. It's just a matter of whether you believe he can do it. I think he can.

Hahaha good call....I mocked Dan Williams to them a bunch. Forgot they lost Merling....perhaps the Phins won't be.But GB got torn to shred through the air by the Cards....just like the Browns last nite. The run D was very impressive last year...take away Jolly and Kampman....but they are still a good run D.Then compansate for a lack of a passing game the bills have, playing from behind most likely, and below average OL(before people start busting out the 9th in ypc stat....minus out that useless Colts game and tell me where they rank).....and that leaves much to be desired in a Bills running game.

In what format?
he was 10 in Zealots
But still unstartable about half the season.
He had some bad weeks (6 games under 10 pts) but what player doesn't? He averaged over 12 pts a game (1-16) and didn't have any 30 or 40 point games to skew that average. Maybe he was unstartable in TD heavy leagues... he did only score 4.... but his 1400 yds and 46 receptions was very respectable IMO. (not to mention his 1020 return yards)
In what format?
.25 per RB reception... .03 pts per return yards

Hi TF,Looks like you just signed up in February so you probably didn't know but the Shark Pool really frowns on cheering when players get hurt. We understand you might own Spiller or Lynch and perhaps that helps your team out but it also could cripple another owner's team and in general we try not to cheer it on here. A better way to discuss it would be something like "If Fred Jackson misses time, maybe this will mean Lynch actually stays in Buffalo." or "With this unfortunate news I guess we'll see more of CJ SPiller than we first anticipated." Like I said this looks like your 1st preseason here at the SP, welcome aboard. We just try not to jump up and down when players go down because it could always be your team that gets hit next. Cheers
Are you a mod now or something?
He's as close to a mod as possible without being one. Besides there's a level of respect and etiquette that these boards possess. MOP is a long time member of these boards and very well respected. He showed a tremendous amount of respect in letting a newer member know what is expected around here...that's how we roll.

So what can we forecast Spiller if both Lynch and F. Jackson miss significant time? I have some guy in my league already spewing out predictions of 1200+ and 8-10tds, I find that hard to believe given what they did last year, then again, I havent seen much Spiller.
