Uhhhh….Antonio Brown just quit mid game (2 Viewers)

AB only had to limp his way off the field instead of running like he was celebrating just winning the gold medal at the Olympics, for his side of what happened to have any truth to it.  Julio Jones can barely walk sometimes and he gets on the field just to be a decoy to help his team.  No matter what, it is crystal clear that AB is not a team player.

Something tells me he'll be in a Bucs uniforn again after Evans gets hurt this weekend.

They are only dotting i's and crossing t's from a legal standpoint.  He's gone.  No more distractions.  Time to get ready for the playoff run with players that want to be there.
Yeah, I meant that more for MOPs who was insisting he should have been arrested for trespassing because he was on the field while no longer being a member of the team.

haha what?  Don't get the reference.

Either way.... we both know he's absolutely done in Tampa.  Zero chance they bring him back.

Agree to disagree...if you're going to hire someone to deflate balls you'll figure out a way to make this go away.

Bucs should have grabbed OBJ as I suggested.

you honestly believe that Brown is going to play for the Bucs again this season?

Let's put it this way...if Brown was on the Chiefs and this happened, the Bucs would be first in line to pick him up.

I mean I guess you're right and it's not zero. But I'd say it's more likely Calvin Johnson plays for them than Antonio brown.

They picked up L. Bell, there's no stone Brady will leave unturned.

Had the three Browns as my WR's, starting only two.....AB and AJ over Amon-A. Still have Najee, but am 20 points underwater in non-ppr.

You made a championship then decided on sitting the hottest player because you wanted to play brown? No one lost that title but you my man..

Despite the AB debacle, won the Title on the last play TD run by Najee. Told my wife that, in 22 years, I had never won a championship game on the last play on Monday night....sweetest victory I can remember.

Guess I had the Rally Monkey this time!

Peace out.

Could the refs theoretically have called an un sportsman like conduct penalty on the Bucs for what AB did? Or 12 men on the field?

I knew you were down 20 from reading your post earlier in the evening.  So I was paying attention to Harris's stats.  Before that play, I say the game clock and realized it would be the last play before a kneel down.  Doing the math in my head, I said to the kid, Harris will bust this next play for a TD.

When he did, my son looked at me with this quizzical expression... How did you know that?   Just had to bust the first level - the "D" was shutting down for the night.

Congrats.

Yeah, I went nuts on that play too.  Thought I had won a DFS tourney but I got Landryied and finished 2nd.

So, his ankle was so injured that he was able to run and dance in the end zone while leaving the field like he was at the prom?  Sure, okay.

But I will say this: there are a zillion cameras now and if Arians did make that motion at Brown, one of them will have caught it. Will be interesting to see.

Having played a little bit of WR back in my time- obviously not even close to the level of AB….

You would have to play WR To understand why WRs are such divas. You are are out there running and beating your man all day and if you aren't getting the ball thrown to you - after awhile It comes to a head.

Not strip half nekkid come to a head but you get my point.

Funny that only a small amount of them turn out that way.  Not an excuse.

They did throw the ball to him though.

If his ankle really is all messed up, the Bucs are going to have a real problem on their hands. Makes sense why the Bucs haven’t actually released him yet.

I don't see it that way.  Whatever Arians may have said or motioned at AB doesn't justify AB's actions on the sidelines or in the end zone.  Arians can tell him he's never going to play again but until paperwork is submitted to the NFL, which can be challenged by the NFLPA based on the CBA, AB is still a player/employee on that team.  So, his actions as such can be held against him.  If Arians somehow violated the conduct rules of the TB Bucs or the CBA he can be held accountable separately but I don't see that he could have done anything that justifies the behavior AB exhibited that is going to separate him from the TB Bucs organization.

I didn’t excuse the behavior. Most of the really good ones are divas though. Rice was a super diva, it’s just that very few people heard about it. Part because the SF media hid it and mostly because he was before social media.

Brown has a history of quitting on his team and not giving his all when he feel it doesn't benefit him.   I'm not a doctor and I don't know if he had a bad ankle or has mental illness issues but the one thing I do know is that AB is a selfish jerk.

If he was telling the truth he would have just stayed on the bench, not strip down, throw his gloves in the stands, run to the endzone to do jumping jacks, and high-five as he is running in the tunnel.   It was the ultimate "it's all about me" action to take.

By taking off the jersey on the sideline he was saying he quit the team.  I am going to immediately dislike any team that gives this guy another chance.

What should matter here is not verbal sideline exchanges, gestures or statements issued through attorneys. It should come back to the processes in place for injuries.

Players who are GTDs test their injuries pre-game with the support of trainers/doctors and a decision is made - active/inactive. did that happen with AB? Yes/No

Players who are injured during the game also go through a process and are designated "questionable to return" or what have you. Some return to the sideline without helmets, some in track suits, some don't return at all. Did AB go through that process? Yes/No

If AB came off the field, did not consult a trainer / doctor and then refused to re-enter the game, he'll have to explain why. If he did consult someone and indicated he couldn't play, Bucs will have to explain what happened next.

I didn't see anyone throwing ABrown out .... I also didn't see any sign of a limp when he was jogging and if the pain was that bad, certainly didn't keep him from smiling and trying to raise the crowd

ABrown is a liar, a quitter, a head case and very probably needs mental health on deep deep levels

Sweet, we've reached the point where armchair doctors start to weigh in.

Apparently AB has been doing AB things on Twitter and IG, posting texts from Arians and Guerrero. Haven’t seen them but it’s been the topic of the morning on Boston sports talk radio. Something about getting a bill for $100K from Guerrero and suggesting they all were in on it (whatever that means).

Can't stand that some sports broadcasters are backing up on their criticism of AB.  The coach tells him that he won't be playing after he said he doesn't want to play and then he throws a temper tantrum.  The guy is 33 FFS.

Plus, he says he's injured with a torn ligament so can't play.  Where the hell was the limp when he was walking off the field.  I understand that there's a difference between walking and cutting on the field, but if he is saying he has a torn ligament then he should be limping slightly.  Guy is a loser.

I've played a lot of sports - watched a lot ..... I've neve seen a player with surgery required ankle injury jump and frolic and de-cloth themselves and run out of the stadium/court egging the crowd to cheer them all the while smiling

Have you?

Don't have to be a doctor to figure that one out

I don't know what happened on that sideline, and AB certainly hasn't earned the benefit of the doubt. But something about the way he described his exchange with Arian didn't ring true to me. Can a coach really just order an injured player back into the game like that and then cut him if he refuses? Is there no check provided by the team physician?

I have no idea how the process is supposed to work in those situations, but I would imagine that if that scenario is possible, we would see lots more of those types of incidents.

I'm sure AB has an issue with his ankle...at week 18 in the season I'm sure that every player is dealing with injury issues and if you declare yourself good enough to play you play.  It's not as if his ankle was a surprise or the pain was new if he had an MRI and had the conversations with the medical staff beforehand.  If it was truly that bad as he said, just don't suit up and tell them that you aren't ready but instead he says he good to go, comes out in pregame looks great, is chatting with fans, everything is good.

Then something suddenly changes and he can't play...look at Thielan the prior week.  Guy had a bad ankle, tried to play through it and obviously get re-injured on a play...laid on the turf in obvious pain and there was no way he was coming back after that I thought.  Well, he did give it another shot but couldn't go on and ended up having surgery this week believe.  I know injuries are different, pain thresholds are different but there didn't appear to any kind of tweak that occurred, he wasn't in the tent getting any kind of observation for a reinjury, didn't have to get taped up so how is Arian's supposed to know anything has changed or gotten worse.  AB declared himself well enough to play, he played fine, no obvious tweaking or need to get him looked at so Arians says go into the game we need you and then all of the sudden his ankle which has been an issue most of the year is too bad to go any further.  Even if that is the case, fine, take your helmet off and sit the bench but instead he needs to make a spectacle and strip down ala Slapshot.  He's trying to use his injury as an excuse for his inexcusable behavior and I don't buy it for a minute.
