Undocumented Immigrant Thread (1 Viewer)

why do you keep asking the same questions over and over?

better yet, to everyone else, why do you keep giving him the answers?

It's clear he's ignoring them...why bother?
Agree, I gotta spit the hook.  You can only provide the same answers so many times.

Oh, I see its your turn.  Can you resist?

Considering the GOP held both houses of Congress and the Presidency for two years and didn't provide funding for the wall, I assume you don't think the GOP cares about the American people either?
RINOS, yes, I agree with you.

Again, why is that?  Yes in 2013, no in 2019.
My last reply...

I asked you earlier, and provided you links to the relevant info, to list the differences between the Dems current plan and Israel's wall.  Can you do that?  I gave the links as you obviously missed it the first 2 or 3 times in this thread.  If not, I'll just assume you're trolling.  TIA.

Trump just backed away from his threat to shut down the border. Now it’s tariffs on cars first, and then maybe a shutdown.

I don’t know why other countries should take anything he says seriously; he constantly changes his mind.

Can’t get what he wants so he is going to tax Americans to get back. Everything with him is about keeping score with dollars.

I sure has hell don't read it in MSM.
Then where do you read it? Cuz it seems like you really don't read anything. You sure haven't bothered to read any of the many, many links you have been supplied with that completely refute your arguments day after day.

My guess is your primary news source is conservative talk radio, and has been for a long while. Your postings have all the hallmarks.

Exhibit A as to why its so difficult to have any meaningful conversations with Trump supporters sometimes.

WASHINGTON — The House of Representatives plans to sue the Trump administration over the president’s national emergency declaration to build a wall on the southern border, House Democratic leadership announced Thursday.

***

The Bipartisan Legal Advisory Group, made up of House leadership from both parties, voted to authorize the lawsuit, Pelosi’s statement said.

“We authorized,” House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer told BuzzFeed News after votes on Thursday. “I presume we’ll follow through on that.”

The House’s Office of General Counsel did not immediately respond to a request for comment on when it plans to file the lawsuit.

We can cut back on our Avacados, tomatoes, fruits, and nuts for awhile. Plus, how quickly can we produce the car parts we get from Mexico in the US?   As for labor, we have enough of them here already to work the fields.
:lmao:

This is so naive. There are 400,000 vehicles that cross the border every freaking day. Do you think they all contain fruits and nuts?!?

Do you even have the slightest idea of how complicated (and expensive) it would be for U.S. manufacturing to suddenly start producing parts in America? It's not like all of the old production lines are just sitting there under some canvas tarps! Most of them would have to be built from scratch -- hell, we probably couldn't even build some production lines because some of those parts are only made in Mexico! So the first thing we'd have to do would be to build production lines that built production line parts!

All of that would take months, if not years.

And then what do you think would happen if American industry invested BILLIONS into restarting all these production lines, only to have Trump pull the rug out from underneath us by re-opening the border after 6 months!?!

Oh, and your line about having enough people to work in the fields is just a riot. Imagine getting a bunch of homeless/welfare types to harvest the crops. You think they'll be as efficient as current workers? OF COURSE NOT. So, get ready for your food prices to quadruple. And that doesn't even touch on the fact that we don't even have enough current farmland to self-sustain the country (because we rely so much on imported foodstuffs). So if we close the border, we would face a serious possibility of a food shortage.

And yeah, we could plow more fields to increase our food production. But what happens when Trump re-opens the border and all those newly-plowed fields go to waste? Our farmers would lose billions.

Come on man. Think this stuff through before you post.

I really wish they'd sue over this "national emergency" that has allowed him to do the tariffs...probably for the other thread, but I'm pretty surprised they haven't pushed back on that bogus "national emergency" too.

Wait...he's giving Mexico a 1-year warning? If they don't stop the "invasion" within a year, THEN he's going the tariff route? So nothing now? His emergency situation doesn't need to be addressed for a year?

He has a tough time with the concept of "emergency."

That’s what he said. A one year warning. Then the tariffs; and if that doesn’t work, the shutdown. It’s an emergency!!!

I guess he decided it would take too much work to keep the faux outrage going for a full year and a half. See you in a year for a push towards election night!

Wait, don't we have a new trade deal waiting to be approved between the US, Mexico and Canada? So before its approved you are going to threaten to impose more tariffs? If I were Mexico I'd say screw you....your word is as worthless as the paper it is written on Donald!

Oh, come on.  He doesn’t write his ideas down.

I think he's realizing that his rhetoric isn't helping him now...so he's going to wait for an election year.

Fixed:

Trump: If you don't stop illegal immigration into the US I'm going to shut down the border!!

Mexico: meh

US Business: Oh dear god no

Trump: Okay, if CONGRESS doesn't stop illegal immigration by Friday, I'm going to shut down the border!!

News — Stephen Miller directly lobbied President Trump to withdraw Ron Vitiello’s nomination to lead ICE, multiple sources say. Miller went to Trump and said Vitiello was not fully in favor of closing the southern border.

- LOL. This guy was caught appearing at a racist, full on extremist web site, but this, this is what gets his nomination pulled.

The US should be self sufficient when forced to.  Never depend completely on another country for things you cannot do without if possible.
How big of a hit to GDP would you accept? Considering a decade worth of 3-4% is required for the recent tax cuts to pay for themselves.

Are you willing to let the US go into a prolonged recession on this topic?

Last week, Trump justified the idea of closing the border by saying, "Security is more important than trade."

Then he changed his mind and decided not to close the border.

Soooooooo.....he thinks trade is more important than security?

So what's the defense of essentially wanting to ignore the law of the land and do what he wants?  Trump that is.  Has there been a person that "resigned" that didn't do so because the Trump was trying to make them break the law?  I'm sure there are a few, but this is quite remarkable to watch. Thank God he's not very bright with rules/laws.

Head of the EPA resigned because he wanted to break more laws than he was allowed.

Seems like sanctuary cities would be the logical place...no?
Totally. Designing immigration policy to score cheap political points to punish your perceived  political enemies is always the way to handle the lives of real human beings. These are gods children man. These guys are clowns.

Ok....so I fully admit, I have only been awake for about an hour, but I am struggling to see the outrage here.  If these cities are good with the people being there, why would it be bad for them to go there?  It's better than sleeping under a bridge in a tent isn't it?  If I am being honest, the part of that article that pisses me off the most is the definition of "sanctuary city" they've created.

"Sanctuary city" is a broad term applied to jurisdictions that have policies in place designed to limit cooperation with or involvement in federal immigration enforcement actions. Cities, counties and some states have a range of informal policies as well as laws that qualify as "sanctuary" positions.
"we aren't paid to do the federal government's job" is not a policy.
