[Unemployed Teacher]

I am a teacher, teaching out of field, which means I have a year to take an exam. I signed up for the exam, then COVID19 closed the testing centers down and put us all in quarantine. The testing centers opened up, I signed up for an exam, but the earliest I could get was June 15, my Administrator said that she could not offer me a job because I have to take it before end of year. Do I qualify for unemployment?

Just teach math, they will hire you eventually. 

The test isn't hard to pass thru Alg and Geometry, just be careful of those pizza problems they like to slip in there.

First talk to the union rep.  Then talk to your district Human Resource director about the timeline.  There should be an extension due to the test being unavailable.

I don't think you would qualify during the summer, since your contract probably specifies that you are paid over 12 months, but it wouldn't hurt to try.
