Unofficial President Kamala Harris thread (1 Viewer)

I can understand the pronoun thing. I really can. I find it annoying. Mostly because my workplace is apparently a birthing ground for they/them folks. But I am used to it and now I rarely think of it.

What confuses me is the issue with the physical description. If anyone here has a friend or daughter or spouse that is blind I would be curious what their thoughts are on this. Everything I have seen says it is the kind/appropriate thing to do.

Here's a blind professor discussing an Atlantic article that discussed/criticized the intro.

btw kudos to you for actually wanting to hear from a blind person before passing judgment on an effort to accommodate the vision-impaired. As far as I can tell you're the only person who actually expressed an interest in hearing from/deferring to that community .. including Graeme Wood, who wrote the Atlantic article and wondered aloud what blind people might think of it but apparently didn't feel bothered to ask.

If she's describing herself, why doesn't she say black woman and then give her height and weight?

Lets make height and weight a standard too. See how long that lasts.
