***UPDATE: Now OFFICIAL MNF Thread*** (1 Viewer)

Yeah, really. Got the ball, late in the 4th quarter, deep in your own territory, and you need a touchdown. You complete two 4th downs against a swarming defense and the whole world against you.Yes, my friend. THAT'S how a champion operates. Here endeth the lesson.
COMPLETE TWO 4TH DOWNS? YOU MEAN GIVEN TWO 4TH DOWNS?

Pathetic. I literally feel like I was robbed. Those referees should be fired. New England officially gets the win, but they should be embarrassed to accept it.
Which one or ones I should say didn't you like?Honostly I think there was some luck that went into the win.....but not really a problem with the officials.Baltimore did call timeout. NE did move on that 4th and 1 and it ended up 4th and 6 where Brady ran for a first down.On 4th and 5, that was holding on Baltimore, he hit him. Now, the TD catch was close. It's debateable but the call was a TD and I'd see why it was called a TD before going under the hood. With it being a TD on the field, I can see why it wasn't overturned.I think it's all sort of mindboggling how NE needed all that to go their way to keep an undefeated season going but that makes me respect going undefeated all that much more now.
Don't forget that one pass that was deflected way up into the air but wasn't intercepted.... that was pretty lucky too.And I don't have any problems with the calls, but I think the TD should have been overturned. I don't blame the loss on that call (or any of the others), but I think it was clearly wrong.

Big win for the Pats.I still think their D is average and will not stop the likes of Dal/GB/Ind/Pit (maybe)The problem with a team like, say Dallas, is they don't match up well against the NE offense...at all.If NE gets by Pitt, it is all over but the crying for Shula and Co.
Baltimore doesn't match up nearly as well as you think. The weather/wind had a HUGE part in this game nobody will remember who didn't see this game.Dallas would have had a lot better of a chance to win a game like tonight because basically the passing game was neutralized by Mother Nature. We can argue or complain but it must have been meant to be, what can you say but hats off. They did get lucky but often you create your own luck. It's the Patriots time, give them their credit. When you're team's up you'll want the same for them.
Dallas IS my team. They don't have the presonel on defense IMO to dial up the blitz and leave their corners on an island against the NE receivers. They could win a shootout though...they made so many mistakes (and penalties) in that game, and they are clearly a better team today than they were then, while NE is, IMO clearly not quite as good.I just hate the matchups that are created by generating the requisite pressure on the line.
ya, I know what you're saying and I'm a Dallas fan ultimately. I'm just saying Baltimore can be passed on themselves, but tonight the wind was their 13th and 14th defensive players behind their fans.If that games played on a beautiful night, NE has a lot less trouble. It wasn't, I understand but you can't also gaurantee bad weather vs. other teams. If Pittsburgh plays NE on a nice night, meaning not very windy NE will look a lot better.
I see your point.Having said that, I don't see NE stopping the steeler offense on a nice night either. I don't think they are very good (NE D), and Roethlisberger wold have finished that game.Boller is slightly better than David Carr and not quite as good as A.J. Feely.I am not a believer in the NE D......at all.

I feel bad for the Ravens too. There's a lot of former University of Miami players on that team, and I felt that they were playing that game for their fallen Hurricane buddy.

Oh well....

Like when it was 4th and 1, went to 4th and 6, and Brady ran it for the first down? Certainly was given...

You can thank Billick for that. Do you even watch the games?

Congrats New England. It must be something else with the level of intensity teams are going to bring to try and knock them off now. Baltimore looked spirited and emotional.

Well the Pats hung a pile of points in some nasty weather while the offense was forced to carry their over rated jocks.

HOW DO YOU FIGURE? YOU MEAN WHEN REX RYAN CALLED A T.O.? AND THEN THEY COULDN"T STOP BRADY'S SCRAMBLE? OR THE LEGIT, THOUGH MINOR, PENALTY IN THE END ZONE? UNLESS YOU MEAN GIVEN, AS IN THE RAVENS GAVE THEM THE 4THS.

I love Tom Brady, have loved him since my buddy told me there is this Michigan backup QB that is better than Drew Henson (at the time that seemed absurd, wow how times have changed). But after listening to that press conference- man, Brady is so ripe to be deflated. You just don't see a guy that cocky not take a big knock. I would hate to see it, but Brady is begging for a major disaster he will have to overcome.

Brady interview is classic...said he heard the Whistle, so he stopped! LOL
I would like to hit him in the teeth with a rusty crowbar.
I give these guys credit having to deal with the media...
These guys are just doing thier jobs. Never really watched a Brady interview, but struck me as kind of a pr*ck with his answers and attitude.
There is a reason Peyton gets all the commercial deals even though Brady has all the SB wins. He's simply not a very likeable guy.

Not Correct.

I feel bad too, that all those millionaires that get to play games for a living have to go through the mental anguish of losing. Poor darlings.

Lucky for me I have a crappy job that pays squat so I don't have to deal with such difficulties.

WHEN I TYPE IN CAPS IT MEANS I AM RIGHT. EVEN THOUGH WHEN I PUT EVERYTHING IN CAPITAL LETTERS IT DOESN'T EMPHASIZE ANYTHING SPECIFICALLY, AND IS GENERALLY INEFFECTIVE WHEN TRYING TO PROVE YOUR POINT.I BET YOU'RE ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE THAT TALKS LOUDER AND LOUDER UNTIL NOBODY WANTS TO LISTEN TO YOU SCREAM WHEN YOU'RE IN AN ARGUMENT.

Should the Pats finish the job and go 19-0, is it possible "The Timeout" will join the likes of The Drive, The Catch, and The Fumble as generic names forever associated with one specific moment in NFL history?

True, no one likes a cranky robot.

I usually like Brady, but he was a real ##### in that interview. He can't answer question for a couple more minutes?
No.
You don't like him either? And here I thought you wanted his jock.
grow up.
You're the one who is all mad.
Why would I be mad?
You tell me.

And that disaster's name is James Harrison.

I am not a huge Brady fan, but he didn't come off real well in that interview, but seeing the game he just played, I would guess very few of us would be at "our best".

I think Brady getting a really short fuse from dealing with the media circus that has surrounded the Pats this year. He should probably learn to cool down before dealing with them.

Anyone know a good heart surgeon??? I need a transplant! These games are friggin' killin' me. Great game, B'more. Full props.

Boller exceeded expectations in that game, but the playcalling at the end was atrocious. I don't know why the Ravens were throwing so much in the final 8 minutes.

That said, they also got beat by a pretty good football team.

It's great isn't it. I'm with ya.
