In the Canadian Championships, Halifax host Montreal. Matko Miljevic with his debut for Montreal (and first game of any sorts since Feb 2020). One time he was a top 2001-born U.S. prospect but had a falling out with Argentinos Jrs. - now rebuilding his career. Curious to see this

Goal! Matko Miljevic.. great moment from him to score in his first game for Montréal. At the start of the 2021 U-20 cycle, I figured he’s be a top U.S player for that team. Great start getting his career back on track in the Canadian Championships

What I really like is that Allegri has subbed in every phase of the game (losing, tied and winning) and used all 5 subs and Weston is going to go the distance (if he does not get hurt).

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri after the 3-2 win over Spezia “There are players who have important qualities and who need to improve. [Weston] McKennie for example, should have scored at least four goals and those chances make the difference.”

I don’t mind this. It isn’t the type of comment to bury a player, but rather to show you see his potential and motivate him.

I'm told Ricardo Pepi could agree a move to Europe in the next two weeks #USMNT

- Clubs from - 4 #UCL clubs

- Fee higher than Alphonso Davies'

I haven't seen Venezia. Not sure if you or anyone else has but are they capable of staying up?
Their fans celebrated like they'd won the CL when they scored their first (and only) goal of the season.

I like Busio as a prospect based on what little I've seen. But I keep staring my amazement that he's stepped into a starting role immediately. Either he got better, or they don't have anyone better.

They're going down.

Thanks to you both.

Agreed on Busio. Strange to me how much he's played and Tessman is getting very limited minutes

It is a statement that is more confusing than motivational.

His xG for the game was only .23.

He only took 3 shots (there was one play he laid off that maybe he could have shot but even then it was hardly a great chance)

His best chance was blocked for a corner on which Juve then scored.

Maybe with some luck, that .23 xG can be a goal and and maybe if everything goes right he gets a brace.  But there was not 4 goals any where in that game for Weston, not even close.

This is odd

[Nicola Balice] A delegation of the American embassy is arriving at Juventus training ground. There will be a meeting with Agnelli, and later with Mckennie.

The US Panama game start time has changed.   The game now starts at 6:00pm eastern (Paramount+ is the only network listed on the US Soccer site but I think that may be in error as one of the Spanish stations is sure to carry this game.)

From ESPNs player ratings of today's Barca draw.

DF Sergino Dest, 6 -- Blows hot and cold throughout games. Does some good things but cancels them out by switching off at key moments. Needs to find more consistency, even if he is playing on the left instead of the right

Boavista have still not paid FC Dallas for the transfer of Reggie Cannon, per sources. Cannon joined Boavista a year ago, after incentives the fee hit $3.25m. Boavista have also yet to pay Houston Dynamo in full for the Alberth Elis deal, which was around $1m. Not great.

Pulisic out for Chelsea's game against City tomorrow.  Was really hoping he'd be playing in CL next week, but that seems iffy now.  Will he play at all before the window?

I think Chelsea have a small incentive to not play Pulisic before the window.  If they hold him back from dressing, they can make a fairly strong case to GGG that he needs to stay in London for the break.

If Chelsea play him before the break, they are all but telling GGG to feel safe in calling him and then they risk losing him for even longer if he gets hurt in qualifying again.

Everything seems to be lining up for no Pulisic, Gio or Adams in the next window

In news that no #USMNT wants to hear/read, Tyler Adams is out of today's Leipzig game vs. Hertha with what the club says is a "muscle issue."

As speculated, Sarge starting for Norwich after being rested in the Whatever It’s Called Now Cup. Perhaps a bit more unexpected is that he is not on the wing, but rather paired up top with Pukki in a 3-5-2.

I feel like that's a system that works with his strengths and minimizes his weaknesses. At least I hope so...be interesting to see.

Yeah, I can see that.  Although on the other hand, Mount was out today as well and it sounds like they created very little in a 0-1 loss.  Hopefully the desire to integrate him back into the attack is larger than the desire to hold him out of qualifying.  And that he's actually healthy of course...

Werner was also doing his very best Sarge impression as well as they went to a 3-5-2.  I’m not exactly sure why they veered from the 3-4-2-1 since they looked much better once Havertz came on.

It is good for Marsch that RBL finally woke up today.  They are pounding Hertha 5-0 in second half.

Edit: Now 6-0

Richards vs Brooks today.  Richards has an assist.  Hoff is up 2-1 over Wolfsburg in second half.

If Pepi plays in all 3 qualifiers, he is cap tied for good.

If Pepi plays in 1 or 2 games, his window resets back to 3 years for being provisionally cap tied.

If Musah plays at least one game, he will be provisionally cap tied for three years.

If had to choose three players to roster from this group, who do you choose?

Pepi, Hoppe, Sargent, Pefok, Zardes

*Pepi seems a no brainer since we have to see if it was a fluke or something real.

*I would choose Hoppe over Sargent for three reasons

1) Sargent won't be able to play in Panama

2) Sargent has received a lot of chances with very little offensive production

3) Hoppe can play on the wing better than Sargent which provides more flexibility to GGG

* The last choice between Pefok and Zardes is tricky.  I lean towards Zardes because I want to see if his willingness to run the channels helps the offense more than Pefok's need to stay in the middle to get service.
