US Men's National Team (5 Viewers)

Good first half for CP. Drew a penalty that amazingly wasn't given, even after VAR. Had one in the net that was called back due to an earlier foul. Very active and making great runs.

Could be a good thing if Potter decides he likes this setup - 4atb with Mount in more of a 10 role and Pulisic/Sterling on the wings behind Havertz.

Then again, *its only Bournemouth*

here is the PK shout and the disallowed goal

This is an in depth scouting report of the best U21 players in the world, broken up into positions.

Gaga is the 4th best ranked keeper (and the youngest in the top 10)
Scally is the 2nd ranked two way right back
Musah is the 4th ranked attacking midfielder

You won't find a more comprehensive report online any where. This is really impressive to say the least

Sadly if CP doesn't shoot he probably gets the PK.

On the disallowed goal how was that a foul on Chelsea? He played the ball.

You missed a few.

John Tolkin is rated as the #1 Defensive Left Back. Real shame we are so stacked at left back that he hasn't been good enough to get a call up.

Tayvon Gray is another under the radar guy. Right back at NYCFC. Comes in at #4 on two-way right backs (two behind Scally). He barely has been mentioned in this thread but to be fair, it's hard to displace talents like Shaq Moore. I kid. Gray is talented but hasn't yet produced to a national team level as he's wildly inconsistent. He's barely an average MLS defender at this point (though tbf, so is Moore).

Jackson Hopkins is #5 on Center Forwards. He's likely not even good enough to make our U20 roster so I'm not sure about this whole system. It seems to rate minutes more than it should. There is something to be said for minutes -- non-prospects don't get them -- but if you are rating Hopkins ahead of Pepi, it does make you wonder the point.

The big name missing is Reyna who would be way up on what ever position the decided for him but with almost no game time last season, he does not show up.

What? Everyone bitching about diving while watching their first soccer for the last 8 years this past month needs to be shown this. That right there is why guys dive. If refs aren't going to call penalties because the guy got the shot off, even though the shot was hugely affected by a clear foul, then guys will continue to dive in the box when they feel any touch. Stupid.

And how was that a foul against Havertz? He was the one with the ball.

I don't know much about the player but Rooney seems high on him

Rooney sees him every day in training and I've only seen him play 3-4 games ever but he's been incredibly meh in what I've watched (all U20 games). Usually even if a guy is off, he shows some spark but I've yet to see anything that suggests he's a real prospect. He's a 2004 that has gotten several calls though so maybe he just hasn't shown out in games.

“Just like my future at club level, I am not closing any doors regarding international selection,” Balogun said. “All options remain open. Above everything, I feel English, but I also have an American side, because I have family in New York and I love going there. I have my grandmother and cousins in Lagos, even if I haven’t been there since I was very young. My mother sometimes speaks to me in Yoruba and it is important to me,” he added.

Dike also has Nigerian roots. Maybe he can convince Balogun. In Yoruba.

:lmao: , what ever scouting it takes I guess

Thanks to @marinonachison for confirming striker Dustin Aguirre was born in Virginia. Aguirre was first spotted with US nationality on Football Manager 2023 by a BigSoccer user. A late '04 (nearly '05) who's been scoring for the U19s of Nacional, the Uruguayan Primera champions

I don’t think this is the first time FM has been used like this especially in the 2000s.

I got COVID at the end of June and isolated in the bedroom. I had tried FM in the past but it never took. Isolation made me try it again and now I’m more addicted to that game than I’ve ever been addicted to anything in my life. It’s almost crippling.

3 points again for Fulham today. I think this moves them up to 7th now. Ream and Jedi with their normal full 90.
Biggest surprise of the year for EPL?

Them and Newcastle would be my two picks. I assumed coming in Fulham would be battling relegation and that Newcastle would be mid table fodder at best.
Yep. This is the time of year I like to look at the EPL table and find a few fun facts/wacky results.

1. So yeah, raise your hand if you had Fulham in 7th after Boxing Day. Now, Chelsea probably jumps them as they have 2 games in hand and only 1 pt behind, but still.
2. Even crazier, now that I look closer, but raise your hand if you predicted Newcastle to have fewer losses than Man City after Boxing Day. They've lost once all year. And, they have only given up 11 goals through 17 matches, which is better than 1st place Arsenal and 50% better than City who is 3rd in goals against. Newcastle in UCL?
3. Everton, West Ham, Wolves, and Southampton all real threats to be relegated making up 4 of the bottom 5 teams. They are all between 12-15 points, Southampton are in last place, and WH and Southampton have both lost 5+ in a row.
4. Man United has scored only 24 goals and has given up 20 goals. Leeds has scored 23 goals and given up 29 goals. MU is in 4th place with 32 points (10 wins) and Leeds is in 14th place with half the points at 16 (and only 4 wins). Crazy discrepancy given almost identical goals scored and not a huge difference in goals against.
5. 10th place Brentford has a 0 GD. Every team above them has a (+) GD and every team below them has a (-) GD. There's almost always a couple flukes when it comes to that, but so far, not this year.
6. Haaland has scored more goals than Chelsea.

USMNTProspects
@ProspectsUsmnt

Not promising anything as I stress I am not sure about it, but I heard there will be a surprise name on the January USYNT rosters, a player from a big academy that wasn’t previously suspected as being American.

Everton U18 midfielder Shae Cahill, son of the Australian international legend, is US-eligible according to his new profile on Everton's website. Thanks to
@amcalabrese12 for finding. Also spotted in Football Manager by a BigSoccer poster.

That seems like a very unlikely pull. Gotta think he plays for Australia
Kinda like George Weah's son, right?

Fair. Did he (cahil) grow up here?

I don't quite see how he is US eligible yet.

Tim is not a US citizen and neither is his wife from what I can tell (she is Aussie I think). Shae was born in Australia. I assume Shae lived in NY when his dad played for NY but I don't know for sure but I don't think it was any where near long enough to gain citizenship.

Does the mom have US citizenship

Shae Cahill joined Everton aged 14.

A creative midfielder with a varied passing range, Shae is the son of former Everton favourite Tim Cahill. He is eligible to play for Australia, England and the USA.

Shae's father is his football hero and his favourite current Everton player is Richarlison.

I'm not sure what to think that his favorite player is Richarlison though (besides they probably need to update their site). Maybe he dreams of being a world class ****houser one day.

Would work well in CONCACAF then.
