US Men's National Team (28 Viewers)

I was home sick today and watched Leeds to see how Aaronson is used. I think he's a withdrawn forward who's job is to dribble at guys and lose it every time.

But amazing result today with the last kick of the ball (2 assists and 2 goals from 2 subs) in a game where Sunderland seemed like they'd done enough to get a result.

These are the Concacaf teams that qualified for the U17 WC and their record in qualifying:

Canada 4-0-0 GD: +26

Costa Rica 3-1-0 GD: +19

Mexico 3-1-0 GD: +17 (advanced on GD over Nicaragua)

Honduras: 3-0-0 GD: +11

Haiti: 3-0-0 GD: +10 (advanced over host Guat, unscored upon)

US: 3-0-0 GD: +31 (unscored upon)

Panama: 3-0-0 GD: +12

El Salvador: 3-0-0 GD: +11 (scored a late winner in last game to advance ahead of Jamaica)

Musah and CP both starting in leg 2 of their Champions League tie with Feyenoord. Milan scored a minute in to draw level in the aggregate.

Theo got a second yellow, so if our plucky Americans are going to go through, they’ll need to do so shorthanded. Both yellows were pretty dumb. The first one, he just grabbed a guy and flung him down. The second one was for diving.

Absolutely magestic dive though. Milan is trouble now.

Theo is such a moron

I was out of contact today in hospital with my mother.

What is going on with Celtic and Bayern???? It is tied 2-2 on aggregate very late in the second leg. Does it go to extra time if tied at end of game(I think the away goals rule was removed)?

Looks like Trusty and CCV are the CB's again for Celtic. No better way to raise their profile for Poch than being a part of a monster upset.

Davies with the late winner in injury time. CCV with a desperate clearance that went into Davies and into the net

!@#$%. Carter-Vickers couldn't clear it after the save. That's disappointing.

It was an ultra long shot any way but with Italy losing two teams today, their hopes of a 5th team in Champions league next year might be all gone.

Which means teams USA are out of CL.

Are you talking about next season or this current UCL?

For next season, if the current season ended today, Juve would be in.

The likelihood that both Milan and Juve finish top 4 is low so one of the two appears they are going to miss out unless both teams go on a tear in the last 13 games.

Here is the Behind The Crest for January camp. It is hard not to root for Agyemang.

God, that was terrible luck for CCV and Celtic.

Yet another goal for Zendejas tonight continuing by far the best season of his career.

Poch has to figure out to get players like Tillman, McKenzie and Zendejas to replicate their club form against the better teams in Concacaf.

sempremilan reporting CP clashed with Concecao at halftime and wants to be sold this summer if he's still the coach.

grains of salt and all... but if true, it's oddly good to see CP step up a bit and not just keep being the team guy who lets himself get shuttled around and off the field.

CP said it was utter BS.

A response has been published by AC Milan to a story circulating regarding an argument involving Sergio Conceicao and Christian Pulisic.

In case you missed it, today’s edition of La Repubblica spoke of ‘extreme tension’ at Milan and a climate inside the Milan dressing room that is far from positive at the moment, given the Champions League elimination against Feyenoord.

The most surprising claim though involved Christian Pulisic, and the idea that he had a heated confrontation with the coach at half-time during the defeat to Dinamo Zagreb in the final game of the first phase in the UCL.

The paper alleged that the American winger had then gone to the directors and asked to be sold in the summer if they planned to keep the Portuguese coach, such was the level of his discontent.

It is not something we see very often at all, but on their X profile Milan have published a brief quote from Pulisic which responds to the story published this morning by La Repubblica.

“I have never argued with the Coach and I have never asked to leave. I am very happy at Milan and I want to continue wearing this shirt. Reading these lies is unacceptable, but let’s all continue to remain united and fight together on the pitch, for the Club and for our fans,” he said.

So Richie is that last starting* American standing in Champions League. Safe to say no one would have guessed when the season started.

*Gio and Campbell are still alive but Gio is nothing more than late game sub and Campbell is just there for the experience.

Yup. Considering that PSV have like 12 other Americans on the roster too.

Check out Feyenoord in CL though. There are 2 Dutch teams alive in the last 16 in CL and neither are named Ajax and neither are top of the domestic table.

AZ and Ajax are still alive in Europa league though Twente just got eliminated. Feels as though the Dutch league is coming up.

Was just looking at the Eredivisie standings, and it seems REALLY odd that Utrecht loaned Booth to FC Twente. Twente is only 4 points behind Utrecht with a game in hand, and actually has a better goal differential. You'd think that would be one of the last teams that they'd loan players to - he could literally contribute to knocking them out of a Champions League position.

Dortmund draw Lille in Champions League. Fairly good draw for Dortmund

PSV draw Arsenal. Given the opponent, and their current form with out Tillman and Pepi, this should be the end for PSV

Speaking of the kids, Peyton Miller picked up an unspecified "minor" injury but is being written that he is weeks away. He was slotted to be the starting LB for the Revs so he is going to likely miss the beginning of the season.

This is obviously a huge year for Miller. After cementing himself as a starter at just 16 in the second half of last season, a big year this year could lead him to Europe next winter as he will turn 18 late in 2025, making the timing near perfect.

This is a good read on Americans who are U21 and could have a nice impact on their MLS teams this season

Sporting Kansas City

I don’t expect any United States eligible players born 2004 or later to have a role with Sporting KC this season.

Good God we suck. :lmao::bag:

There is some buzz in preseason that Cavan may be getting some regular sub minutes this year with the first team, which at 15 would obviously be fantastic. Hopefully he can make an impression.

I'd honestly be VERY disappointed if that's not the case. If he's legitimately one of the top few players in the world in his age group, as advertised, then he should definitely be an MLS starter by late in his age 15 season. Even if he's just better than the previous US prospects, he should probably be starting in MLS by then, as Pulisic and Reyna were frequently starting at a much higher level by age 17 (and Adams and McKennie by 18).

From what little I have seen in preseason, he is technically ready for a sub role. Both skill wise and soccer IQ wise, there is nothing holding him back.

Now whether he is big enough and or quick enough to get things done against veteran players will be the key in how many minutes he can compile.

I will say though, that for some smaller players like Cavan, the difference between 15 and 17 can be enormous especially if he is a late developing kid. He is no where near the size of Quinn yet for example.

With Weah getting so much time at RB, do any of you think Poch may consider him over Scally or do you think he will stick with Weah at one of the wings?

Reyna still being in the doldrums and Tillman being hurt makes it a little more iffy to use Musah in place of Weah offensively.

With everybody healthy and playing, I'd love to see Weah used like he is at Juve. Allows for a Gio or Tillman to be in the field at the same time. But there are so many holes in front of him now, I think you leave him at RW and not RWB.

Jedi and Richards start against each other.

Adam’s with his first non start in a long time. Available as sub. Nothing appears wrong though health wise and manager was just gushing over his play a couple of days ago so this is probably just some load management I assume.
