US Men's National Team (9 Viewers)

Before this season, the max number of American players, who have played in the Bundesliga, under the age of 21 was 2.

This season we are already at 5 yanks under the age of 21 who have played in the Bundesliga.

Some Adams stats (he did nothing that would make his coach question why he started him.  He should be in line for more minutes based on this performance)

-Tyler Adams covered 7.2 miles today, more than any other player on the pitch.

90 Minutes Played

81% Passing Accuracy

9 Ball Recoveries

8 Duels Won

3/3 Tackles Won

2 Fouls Won

1/1 Dribbles Completed

1 Key Pass

Anyone have an accurate kickoff time for tonight? I'm hosting some out of towers and want to get them the 5:17 sunset before the soccer bar if I can.

Not even sure I can sit through this. Nothing about this lineup even remotely excites me. Who the hell are most of these guys?

according to US Soccer, the last time so many players got their debut in one game was back in 1992.   And sadly there is less than zero chance this debut group comes any where close to that group which included Friedel, Joe Max, Lapper, Burns and Cobi Jobes

Jeebus.  Year of no coach, so we ##### about that, and we finally have a coach and still with the #####ing.

Just seeing the lineup/formation is already interesting. Attacking players in there will be interesting to watch... Jordgi and Baird especiallyb but ebobisse too. Outside backs as well.

How will the shape hold up...I'm guessing Caillou and roldan deep

Don't think jordis made a pass to a teammate yet. And the right side is playing too slow.

Are they playing three back? Lima pushing up?

We shouldn’t be in “instructor mode” at this level. If that is where we really are it’s gonna be 20 years before we get relevant again.

New coach, new system....that doesn’t bother me.
It bothers the old grumpy soccer guy in me who started playing in 1974 and desparately wants US soccer to win, even though I know to my core our country has grown leaps and bounds in my lifetime and I’m glad I lived long enough to see it

Baird and Milajavic are keepers.  Get used to Long and Zimmerman in the back and Roldan in the MF.  The only guy I could really do without is Lovitz.

More than anything though this tactical setup is built for the guys in Europe.  He’s trying to put people between their lines tactically.

Berhalter is confusing me. They talked about playing possession soccer and building out of the back. Then, the sideline reporter talks about Berhalter wanting to play fast, get the throw ins quickly....etc.

They then spend a large part of this game pushing, pushing, pushing....

I don’t see much build up here. And that is supposed to be his calling card, yes?

Not that it's a revolutionary opinion, but Taylor is spot on re: pulisic. Kid needs to play full time and I'm not sure that happens at Chelsea next year

I’ve been on record that I don’t love the landing spot for the USMNT

i seem to to be in the minority

Unless he's going to a mid tier team, where else would he be an auto starter? He's going to have to fight and earn his place anywhere... and I think Chelsea can use his skillset. Whether it's the right fit tactically- I dunno. But I like him in the Pedro role

I’d much prefer a mid tier team for the USMNT perspective

Your really not giving him the credit he deserves at this point. I think he's good enough to be a difference maker there or anywhere...just a matter of in what role. If healthy, he'll get the minutes.

Nips!

Baird showed a lot and love that he tried ####... But so much of what he tried didn't work, and against a better team was going to catch his own team out of shape.
