Sargent is 4. The last one is tough, let me think of a hint...Weah or Sargent?

more recent than Davis. Looks like Davis started his US career in his early 20'sRicky Davis?
I was thinking Gooch or Eddie Lewis before you wrote that. Razov? Harkes?oh I know a good hint. The 5th player is the first US player to ever be on a team that won UEFA Champions League.
nope to all 4.I was thinking Gooch or Eddie Lewis before you wrote that. Razov? Harkes?
I take it he did not look good? This is my old teammate's kid - how is he looking?I did miss that Griffin Dorsey is breaking his cherry tonight. Dorsey is a U20 USMNT player and played 2 years at Indiana before signing a Generation Adidas contract and being drafted recently by TFC.
I posted this earlier in the thread before I buried it with dumb triviaHere's a pretty good Miazga interview. It clarifies his story on the ####-show in Nantes. He seems to be doing pretty well. Has a huge game Saturday in the Championship relegation battle. http://www.americansoccernow.com/articles/after-a-rough-ending-at-nantes-miazga-eager-to-help-reading-to-safety
they will never live this down. I have no idea how the pr person did not see the players being set up here. Remember this was also 14 years ago when this was much more flammable.ChiefD said:I wonder if we will see anything like this for the young lads coming up for the USMNT.

maybe its just best at this point to assume we are never going to see Pulisic, Adams and Weston play together :(USMNT Only @usmntonly
Christian Pulisic suffered a muscle fibre tear in his hamstring in the match vs. Spurs and will miss the matches against Nuremberg and Leverkusen.
US c vs CR c was pretty competitive for a bit.I had a disturbing thought today. I believe since I started to follow the national team closely in the late 80's, this has been my longest stretch of time where I have not seen a competitive (ie non friendly) game.
Really looking forward to these gamesHere are the pots for U20 WC draw. Draw is on Sunday

me too! I really enjoyed the qualification games. I just hope we can send a solid squad and can get players released.Really looking forward to these games

good timing with Berhalter in the stands today....Big day for Sargent as he gets his first pro start for Werder Bremen! Lets hope he takes more advantage than Bello did last night.

he was not good. you can't sugar coat it. He did nothing that makes me think he gets another shot in the return leg, but we will see.Reading the reddit comments from guys watching the game.....![]()
I've stated in this thread that Sargent feels overrated and Weah underrated. I haven't seen anything that disproves that these past few months.NewlyRetired said:he was not good. you can't sugar coat it. He did nothing that makes me think he gets another shot in the return leg, but we will see.
Sargent was a mixed bag today. He played 60 minutes and saw very little of the ball and not once in a dangerous situation. Of the few times he touched the ball, his hold up play was good and passing was crisp.
just to make sure it is clear, the "He was not good..." comment has nothing to do with Sargent. That comment was about Bello.I've stated in this thread that Sargent feels overrated and Weah underrated. I haven't seen anything that disproves that these past few months.
My money would be on Weah having a larger impact this cycle.
Weah's upside might be higher.I've stated in this thread that Sargent feels overrated and Weah underrated. I haven't seen anything that disproves that these past few months.

Hello, exactly!!And I hate gingers. Well... I hate lalas. And they're pretty much the same, aside from the soccer playing abilities.
I agree he seems to lack some quickness. He seems to lack quickness and ball skills.
Sure, I'm not rooting against him. And I think we need pieces like him to get through CONCACAF qualifying, I'm just trying to be realistic about his long term contribution.I agree he seems to lack some quickness.
In terms of his technical skills (trapping, passing, shooting, shielding, etc), they rate out very high for me.
Lets just hope that both he and Weah progress because we are going to need both of them.
Berhalter in attendance too.Looks like we have Fab and Brooks coming on in a few hours!
I'll take Brooks at face value...less concerned with how he performs vs. TnT.sounds like Brooks had a good game today in front of Berhalter. I have not read either way about Fab.
Speaking of Brooks, I thought this tweet was funny![]()

It’s real simple with Brooks: are you playing a top 25 country in the world? Play him. Are you playing anyone else? Sit him
Bold strategy Cotton!Weston must feel good he was out hurt for this one. Look at what the Schalke coach had the players do after the 3-0 loss.

I don't think I have ever seen this type of "punishment" before. It is very unique to me although I have no idea if something like this has any effect on the players.Bold strategy Cotton!
Yikes.
