Italy almost always reports in net. Most of the time England reports gross. If that's true and given England's and Italy's top tax brackets... Pulisic has taken about a $1M paycut per year net. Significant, but not outrageous to get more playing time.Italy has always reported strangely. I think it has to do with before and after tax.@NicoSchira
Christian #Pulisic to #ACMilan from #Chelsea is at the final stage for €23M (bonuses included). Contract until 2027 (€4M/year). #Milan are planning medicals and signing before Monday. #transfers #CFC
€4M/yr is less than half his current contract (just over €9M/yr the past 4.5 years). Sometimes salaries are reported differently in different countries, so I guess its unclear, but we knew he'd have to take a pay cut wherever he ended up. Regardless, it seems like he really wanted this Milan move so I'm happy for him and it seems like a win-win-win for both clubs and the player.
That being said I am sure he took a massive pay cut.
That's what I was thinking as well. If the quoted number is net of taxes, he's done pretty well here. I mean, its fantastic for him to go to a club like Milan in any case, but that's not too much of a drop in salary if its a net number.
