Inter will ask for final conditions of Folarin Balogun deal early next week. Balogun is open to permanent move but Arsenal are expected to request important fee Balogun, part of Inter list after Lukaku deal off. Mbala Nzola and Benjamin Sesko are not in the list

Aaronson scored today in a 3-2 loss in a friendly. Aaronson was a sub
this post left me wondering which Aaronson. (resolved a few posts later)
Big Duncan chugging for another goal tonight. He has English Championship written all over him with his style.

that ball in was fantastic. good finish though. great to see other americans banging in goals.

Per Twitter, during the Messi welcome video at the stadium there was a Berhalter spot and the vast majority of the crowd enthusiastically booed....so maybe it's not just social media.

We have a pretty good team, that's going to mature into its peak in the next three years, will have played together for 5 years, and is playing at home in 2026.

Odds are pretty good that Berhalter is going to beclown the **** out of an awful lot of people. You don't even have to think he's good to bet on him for the next three years.

AC Milan are now planning to advance in talks with Valencia for Yunus Musah — new round of negotiations soon. USMNT midfielder has agreed personal terms with Milan weeks ago, he wants the move. Up to the clubs but Milan want Musah after Reijnders and Loftus-Cheek

Latest on Balogun from the Athletic about Inter

Talks have been taking place with the representatives of Balogun. Although there has been no club-to-club offer as of yet, a bid of around €40million (£34.3m) is expected to arrive. Arsenal are believed to value him at £50m.

ARTETA on BALOGUN's Arsenal future. Much to be decided yet. "He's done incredibly well. And now we have to think what is best to do. We want to see him, we want to experience him in the next few games...And then we'll make the best decision."

Given how bad he looked during the Gold Cup, this comes as no surprise

Alan Sonora is now without a club. The #USMNT midfielder ends his disappointing and brief run with FC Juarez by mutual consent after just 8 appearances (3 starts) and 329 minutes in Liga MX
he and vazquez are head scratchers.

I watched Sonora play some Argentine games, and liked what I saw. also liked his early appearances for the US, where he provided a zippy close control similar to LDLT and similar field vision.

but he was god awful in the GC, albeit in less minutes than Vazquez.... Zendejas who seemed stuck in his head about the opportunity. someboyd here posted about that in real-time- something like he could see with each play the opportunity slipping away from himself, so would try more the next play... with worse and worse results. the quality is there from what I've seen, but he seemed like he got in his own way this GC and tried way too hard, which led to horrible decision making on his part

eta: thank you, Andy. I meant Zendejas, not Vazquez.

Vasquez did score 3 goals in 4 appearances (113 minutes) as a sub.

Agree with you overall that he looked Dikeian outside the box, but he did that one thing he does pretty well in the tournament.

@RapSheet
Leeds United Football Club has transitioned ownership to 49ers Enterprises, with President of 49ers Enterprises Paraag Marathe taking over as Leeds United Chairman. He’ll oversee all aspects (football and business), while his role with SF won’t change.

He had one really bad pass that killed a promising break that tired legs heat, etc. shouldn’t be an excuse for, but in no way was he Sonora or Zendejas-esque, IMO.

When he first got to FCC, they basically only tried to lump balls into the box hoping he could get a head on them, late-game, when the team was awful and always behind,

Then last year he blossomed. He really showed more with his feet. Still not great, but when he was clicking last year, it seemed like he was good enough to trap a pass, and hold it up just long enough to get it to Luciano Acosta at midfield. And then good things happened from there, with Vazquez getting to good spots and scoring with his feet and not just his head.

Part of that may be playing in a two-striker system and having Brenner have a career year next to him. This year his scoring is way down, but with no Brenner, more goals are coming from Acosta and the wingers instead of the forwards. They just brought in a new forward and we’ll see if he starts clicking again.

For the U.S., as has already been said, he’s done best in a dual striker setup, which they usually don’t line up in. But, if chasing a goal, or just want to send in a bigger dude to go up against tired defenders late, I think he’s shown he’s more than capable.

Now, I’m glad Leeds (Leeds Leeds) went down (down down).

Yunus Musah is not part of Valencia starting XI today. AC Milan, confident to get the deal done in the next days. Negotiations continue between clubs — it could be sealed soon after personal terms agreed.
I had understood that personal terms were already resolved and they were waiting on Valencia agreed upon sale number.
English is not his first language. He was trying to say at the end that personal terms have already been agreed upon.

saw a former Boro coach (asst) say that Balo is ready for the EPL, and should be open to a loan in-league, rather than putting his foot down about being sold.

same guy also said that Balo wanted to play the 9 role, even if he wasn't physically there yet for Boro. the guy said Balo understood the position really well, just didn't have the body for it at that time. feels like he's grown into the body more and now is ready physically, when he was already for it tactically.
