As it stands, Richards/Tillman start for the A Team. Ream too but need someone to claim his spot. Adams not great today but still a starter.

We have all tournament. Freeman and Berhalter are not very progressive which leads to everything going through the left.
It also helps that Ream is on that side but it looks to me more like the right sided players struggle to find space and everything is long balls with no buildup.

Maybe it wasn't him? Someone up front for the US looked like they had 20 pound weights on their leg as they were breaking for a long ball in the first half. If he's some sort of speed merchant I might just have gotten it confused. Wasn't Luna though.

Here is my review of the subbing pattern:
Aaronson in for LDLT: This was good. Not only was Luca having a poor game, but this got Tillman off the wing where he was starved of the ball all game and put him in the middle where he could touch the ball.
Tolkin in for Luna: Seriously, WTF. We knew the roster construction was an absolute mess but this made no sense especially when Luna's touches were the only thing working offensively
Downs in for Agy: 30 minutes+ too late. This was Poch's biggest mistake tonight. Agy simply did not have it
Walker in for Afsten: This was a very good sub. Put 5 at the back, bringing Tolkin back and telling Walker to do what he does best at the end of games.
McGlynn in for Adams: Adams was not having a great game but putting McGlynn into a game that required work rate and defensive chops was strange to say the very least

hard to compare imo. Those three WCQiers were against the full US team.
Even the biggest US hater has to realize how much talent is missing from this US team.
I don't think it is possible to have a bigger gap in talent between Dest/Jedi and Arfsten/Freeman (well except maybe Balogun/Pepi over Agy).

Somewhere in the future. He isn't there yet IMO.
He had a good game overall. Some loose passes and sloppy moments with some great touches and well taken goals. Definitely deserves to be seen against better competition and with the better players around him. Potential to be an impact sub now, future starter.

He is not going to start at striker or DM.
So you are left with him starting at one of the wings or one of the 8's. Which means he has to beat out some one like Weston/Tillman/Weah as a starter.
It may become a moot point as this team always has injuries so there may be an opening for him anyway.

they would have to change their tactics but it could work as a false 9.
But to have a false 9 be useful, you need really strong wide play, and outside of Arfsten (who is average at best), we effectively don't attack wide. Tillman and Luna are in the wing spots but neither of them are natural wingers, their game is better suited to the middle of the field.

All in all, getting to the finals is a decent result for this rag tag unit.
I can't say what they will do in the finals but even Mexico with pretty much their first choice line up has not looked dominant up to now. Maybe they turn it on tonight....

He's nowhere near good enough defensively at this level... Ability or tactical-wise...Despite his grit and determination (which I love too). Tillman is light-years ahead of him in that regard. So he either plays as the 9 or he has to beat out Swag, Weah or CP. I don't see him winning the balls he'd need to as a 9- again, he's fantastic with a little time and space and going at goal, but even in the MF he's getting beat to the space and ball too much for my liking on the offensive side, and far too much on the defensive.

Luna 100% should be on A team along with Richards, Tillman, Ream and Berhalter.
Still no striker. Would just run a false 9 or whatever the hell and just be done with the never ending line of strikers who can’t finish.
Not sure who will be GK.

I think he's ahead of Turner with his first touch... But it's his decision making on the ball that's scaring the crap out of me. So slow of thought.. and will take touches towards a defender and then pass it to rhem- already giving at least one or more defenders to get there.

Well, tbf bmav and I are pretty new to the sport, so these high level types of cliches will always go over our heads.
