Anyone have any idea if it's possible to obtain a new passport asap? We were/are going to aruba on Monday (tomorrow)

Any suggestions/info would be greatly appreciated.

You can get a passport in 24 hours, but it won't be cheap. Actually on a holiday weekend you're probably screwed.

Google "expedite passport."

How far are you from the nearest passport center? Show up there Tuesday morning and he might be able to get a passport by Wednesday.

He knew you were going out of the country and he didn't bother to confirm that his passport was valid?

You should leave him and take a hot chick in his place.

BTW, Many places will not let you travel if your passport is within 6 months of expiration. Aruba is probably not like that.

What happened to the guy selling fake passports here. Change the 4 to an 8, and get four more years. Certainly a chance to go to prison is worth it.

Whenever I need a visa and would ordinarily need to go to the consulate in NY in person, I use CIBT... they also have same day passport service but it ain't cheap. And if you're FedExing back and forth, Wednesday would probably still not be realistic for delivery.

I used US Passport now to get a passport in a week... They're legit, but expensive. One day is probably absurd.

I use CIBT as well... strangely, for Chinese visas, they can get things done faster than NYC can.

Test the TSA out and see if they notice it's expired.
It is not just TSA. The last trip I was on, I had 6 different people check my passport on my return trip. An agent in the line when checking in. The agent which checked by luggage. The TSA agent at security gate. The agent who boarded me on the plane. The customs agent before I got my luggage. And another after I got my luggage.

Could be worse. It could have expired the day after you left. Then maybe they could have let him board, got him there, and then ruined your entire vacation whining and worrying abut how he was going to get it renewed in time to get back.

Best advice i have is get him on a flight to Houston. Now. Spend the night there. Wake up and go to the state dept there. It is the quickest in the nation. As soon as he's sorted get a flight from Houston to destination.

Fwiw, we were able to get my wife a passport 2 hours before our flight. We figured out the night before that she couldn't find it.

Basically, get him to a city with the closest regional passport office

Hey guys,

Just wanted to thank you and LYK what happened. I flew in to Aruba on Monday as planned and picked up my bro at the airport on Wed around noon. He went to the Hudson St NYC US passport agency VERY early in the am on Tuesday and had the passport in his hand around a quarter to 2 and then flew in Wed Morning. We extended the trip a bit so no harm done.

Loved Aruba and here are my impressions and what we did if anyone is interested.

First of all, the thing that stood out the most for me was the friendliness of the people! Truly One Happy Island!

Secondly, ARUBA IS WINDY! Got out of the airport and felt like I stepped into a hurricane! Took some getting used to, but it did help cool us down.

Thirdly, THERE ARE ALMOST NO STREET SIGNS IN ARUBA! Really odd and making it really difficult to get around the island. Thank God for google maps! Very helpful!

Additionally...

I stayed at a cousins house/villa which saved quite a bit of money. I read somewhere that the lodging is probably the most expensive aspect of traveling to Aruba. Beautiful home right behind the new Ritz. We could see the kite surfers from the back porch and the sunsets as well. Grilled on Thurs night while watching the Ravens/Steelers game. Very fortunate.

And the money we saved we made good use of with activities and restaurants!

Activities:

We took the 'ABC tours' 6 hr tour of the island with Range Rovers which included snorkeling at Baby Beach. We fed the fish bread which caused a a sort of feeding frenzy. The diversity of fish was truly amazing. My fav fish was what I think was a clown fish. They appeared to be smiling slightly. Perfectly content/happy with where they were.

I'll post more later...

Hello. I enjoy reading your posts and think we would be great friends. In fact, I feel like friends already. As friends I would not decline an invitation to use your cousins villa when it's not being used. Your friend, Rhymes.
