Everyone keeps bashing Vandy for being a loud mouth. He called out the QB for being emotionless and not having any fire. Is he wrong? Maybe if Manning had a little bit of fire he wouldn't be watching the super bowl each and every year.

Here's a pretty good article on him:http://patriots.bostonherald.com/patriots/...rticleid=131785
Over rated loud mouth? Perfect fit for the Cowboys in my opinion.....Jerry Jones fits that mold as well. As long as it makes us better, I could care less what a loud mouth he is. The Cowboys haven't had an average kicker in decades. You have to admit, Vandy is better than average.

He's a big upgrade for them. No doubt. He's very accurate. Whether he can get it done in the clutch is the biggest question. That has not been his strong suit in the past.

Pure drivel.
Too funny...too bad it is all true. Why would a team like the Colts get rid of the most accurate kicker in the NFL and sign someone else for more money if he is such a great guy??? Oh yes, that's right, Mr. Broken Clutch could not kick the winning field goal against the Steelers. Guess they could not forgive and forget since it happened too many times before. His mouth and antics always seemed to make those situations worse.

Name all of these clutch misses? Twice in his career? He played on a team with the biggest choker on earth...Manning, maybe it was just contagious.

Because he questioned Mannings heart and fire??Geez.....What could he be thinking there.

Vanderjact failed in the postseason and still called out Manning for doing the same... that's what's wrong. Also he's a kicker and many feel kickers aren't "real" football players or part of a team, so he's the last one that should be making comments like that.

He signed with the Cowboys now, so he's a good guy

To my knowledge...and I could be wrong but Vandejagt said nothing about Manning this year. He took responsibility for part of the loss (Rightly so). Yet, Manning blabs about how his O-line was sub par.Why is Manning not a Cancer then?

Also, I never said Vandy was a great guy.......he is a great kicker period.

He is one of the top 4 kickers in the league.

Vanderjagt>Cortez

Translation: As a Cowboy fan I am happy we signed a better kicker.

Why is that so hard to understand?

Peyton said they had problems with protection after the game, he was included in that because he points out a lot of the protection pickups. People hate Peyton Manning, so they say he blamed his oline and say his explanation is just a cover up.I agree Vandy is a good kicker, it just sounded like you were trying to justify his comments..

*Pittsburgh last year.*Against the Pats in a game that lost them homefield advantage.

*Playoff game Miami.

Those are probably the three biggest situations he has faced and has failed.

I am trying to point out 2 things. 1) I love how the word cancer gets used to some players and not all. Just using the Manning piece as an example. For the record, his comments were partly true, but he was stupid to go public with them.

2) Vandy...... Good guy or not, who knows For me as a fan I root for the Jersey not for all of the teams players individually. He is an upgrade to a huge whole we had last year.

Like Al Davis says...Just win baby!

Also...I saw the PC were he called out his line. That is not made up.

I don't think anyone thinks he is a bad kicker...he has just had some problems during the playoffs lately.

This is a great signing for the Cowboys, and Vandy will probably finish his career here. Hey I have him in my Dynasty league, and I think fantasy wise this is a great move...more FGs, less extra points!

I remember thinking, wow, he really missed that kick badly. Does he get paid to make kicks under pressure? Sure he does.

However, it was a 47 yarder, not exactly a gimmie, will some of you at least concede that point?

(although I'm sure the average FBG poster that can bench 350 lbs, dates supermodels, and drives a Mercedes while making $200K a year would also claim to be able to make that kick blindfolded in 40 mph winds)

For the record he called out Manning before he was to blame for losing in the playoffs. I think now he looks at Manning a little differently.
