Vegas destination draft (1 Viewer)

Dentist

My league is having its 20th draft this fall and we're doing Vegas as opposed to the regular home draft.

I'm sure someone has done this, just 10 married guys looking to unwind and have some clean fun, what are some casinos with decent packages.

Golden Nuuget has a huge penis and prob fits your budget.

Guys in 20's-30's should consider Cosmo, Wynn, the Hotel.

Guys in 30's-40's should consider Bellagio, Ceasars, Venetian.

FBGs should consider reading the 75 page Vegas thread.

Not entirely sure what you mean by "packages". If you want some big ### rooms that are nice for a decent price I've found that the city center hotels have done a nice job with it -- I've stayed in both vdara and aria in their suites and we fit five to a room no problem and their living spaces were big enough for a draft.

As for drafting, I always thought it would be cool to draft at a sports book while betting on baseball. This may be a bit low end for some, but the rio is great because they have tables you can push together and drinks are free so long as you are betting (and tipping the drink girls of course). I've done the NFL playoffs there with a group of ten and had a blast and got absolutely #### faced for like 25 bucks (when a drink girl started with our table or a new one took over our table, we started out by tipping her like 5 bucks per guy and then would drop to the standard buck or two per drink and we were never dry).

I meant like is there some kind of deal where they set you up with a small conference room, some good wifi, food, server, etc.

Why would you willingly pay money to travel to Vegas? On top of that, spend money gambling on -EV casino games? Sounds like your worst nightmare.

I pay money to travel all of the time.

I probably won't play any casino games or if i did it wouldn't be for long... maybe poker where I'm +EV

My dynasty league has had its draft in Vegas every five years for the last 25 years.

The thing I will suggest is the best ones we have had have been downtown. The reason is you can walk everywhere as a group. When you bring taxis into the mix your people fragment and you have a group at the tittie bar and all over the place sort of defeating the purpose of going as a group.

The smaller the hotel the more likely they will accommodate you or give you a deal.

The biggest tip I can give is speak to the hostess and book as a group, if you ask they may let you link all of the rewards cards as group rewards that way if anyone gambles the points are added together, it usually results in free rooms.

Also booking as a group request a conference room they will usually toss it in for free and it is a decent place to have the draft and they can bring in whatever you order food wise. It is usually a better option than a bar or restaurant as there is no pressure to get out of a conference room on the weekend so you draft isn't rushed.

Also party bus. If you are going to be traveling a party bus is a good idea. Drinking and a designated driver. Party bus drivers usually have any illegal connections if you so inclined to that sort of thing.

You can rent dealers if you want to deal you own private poker tournament.

The suites at the gold nugget if you have a couple adjoining are large enough to host in room if you have a small group and it is obviously the nicest down down.

Other than down town the corner with MGM, New York New York is a good deal. You have easy access to the good casinos but you can get a deal at the trop or Hooters.

The crappier the casino the more they offer, in the past the San Remo/Hooters, Four Queens and Downtown Athletic club have been the most eager to deal.

Travelling sounds like a waste of money.

If you win money at the casino games, are you going to give it back since it's technically a bad beat?

In blackjack I'm like 45 percent to won, not a bad beat.

In craps I'll play the don't s. Poker is head to head.

Are you suggesting the only +ev move is death? I agree

Unless you're looking to score hookers and blow I don't understand going to Vegas.
Maybe we should consider garden city, Kansas or antartica? I'll run those by everyone.

I mean you're right, no one likes to gamble, have a nice meal, goto a pool to stare at pretty girls or get away from home with friends.

Rent a house.
Why even bother with Vegas then
Cabs are a thing.
We did a draft w/e out there a few years ago. Rented a house. It was fine, but it depends on what you want. If you're going to play golf, hit strip clubs, etc then it makes sense. The house also gives you maximum comfort for the draft. If you're going to bounce around the casinos on the Strip or downtown I would recommend staying there. Also, if you want to be waited on by staff during the draft, you can't easily achieve that at a house.

I'm in three leagues that draft there. I've done 20 some live drafts in Vegas. My favorite family members live there so I visit pretty much monthly from So Cal. Each of the three leagues does things differently. From what I gather, Dentist, your league is similar to my college buddies San Diego based league. We're from out of town, we're mostly married, and clean fun is the expectation (though there's a couple deviants among us, hey). You can blow 4-5 times the money on a catered suite or conference room, have bad service and food, pay ridiculous prices for booze and have a generally bogus experience compared to properly planning the draft in one of the resort's pubs/sportsbars/restaurants. Do the draft where you stay. Stay where ever you want. Every decent sized resort will have a place for you to do this. Just make arrangements with the Manager days in advance and be willing to draft during his/her slower hours. This is best for everyone. We opened Tap in the MGM at 11am last year and I'd be happy to make that a tradition, but there's dozens of other spots that would do the job.

The family league drafts at a house w/pool but w/o girls.

A high stakes league has used a poolside cabana (Moorea at Mandalay), a hospitality suite (half day rate), and a quiet early morning 24 hour titty bar. No set plan for season 4 yet, but we're leaning towards setting up at the funky Artisan Hotel Boutique, and contracting a couple independent servers.

Only way I would do this again is if we did it the morning of Week 1. I was too torqued up to bet football only to have the option to bet 1st qtr preseason games :/

Also, I can gamble and buy ##### anywhere - don't need to fly to do that.
