Very high risk/reward (1 Viewer)

So the saga begins... In a 14-man, IDP (18rounds) draft last night, I started with pick 12. I knew things would start moving fast, so I kind of pulled the trigger on something that I would have laughed about if you told me someone else did before hand. The problem was that the players fell accordingly, and I ended up doing it. It is what it is I guess.

Well, I ended with a Moss/Brady combo, picked in that order with my 1st and 2nd. Still can't believe I did that. If I had that combo in '07, we all know who would've escaped victorious.

Not that I post in the shark pool much, or any forum for that matter, but it always amazes me to see a post like this. There is a thread that has been pretty popular in this forum talking about the exact same strategy, then someone comes in here and posts somthing like this. Do you not read this forum very often? Do you only look at stuff you post? Are you looking for a pat on the back saying your team is going to be great? I dont get it...

Actually, I was hoping that a few posters would post something to make me feel a little more comfortable about it. No, I do not post very often, nor did I see anything on this matter within the first couple pages of the shark pool. I have just started coming back to the forums a few days ago, so I'm sorry if I missed something. Last thing I would want to do is piss off the forum police like yourself, which, if I remember correctly, was a major reason why I stopped coming here regularly last year. I am legitimately worried about it, as it is my primary (expensive) league and would hate to have my season blown over an "impulse" buy. I am also a tad bit confused how some are calling Brady the #1 QB. Do I think he is really good and has a slight possibility of producing '07esque numbers? Sure, which is why I picked him. Do I realistically think he'll come close to Brees' numbers? Hell no. I am looking back at last year when someone picked Brady @ 7 and what that did to his season. Although I did not come in here looking for a "pat on the back," I'll take one if you're offering, buddy. It's now the time to leave the donut shop and go back to patrolling your district, as I am sure there are other un-ruley, non-regular posters running these mean streets of Shark Pool Ville.

Well you just did. So are you saying a major reason you stopped coming is because you always pissed off the forum police? Sounds like you're a bad poster  All kidding aside, I was just giving you crap for posting something that has been on the front page for the last few days. Don't get all in a tizzy. I get excited when I see a thread with an interesting title like "Very high risk/reward" and then open it to see somthing that has already been beaten to death.

Long story short, I dont think taking these two players is high risk at all. You are getting yourself two players each ranked easily in the top 3 of their position (dont think there is much debate on that), and everyone has been talking on here all offseason about the value you can find in rounds 3-6 at rb's this year. Depending how the rest of your draft went, I would be willing to wager you have one of the top teams in your league. Good luck

Thanks for the feed back. The problem was it being a 14-man league, and at my position, my next shot at RBs was at the bottom of the 3rd, a long, long way away. Needless to say, I'm not happy with my RBs at all. I ended with Bush > Eddie Royal > in the 3rd/4th, then I got Avery/LJ/Maroney (don't remember order) in the next few rounds. I then went Willis/Ruud, Hillis/Heath Evans/Harvin/James Davis/Goodson towards the end, then filled the rest of my D very, very nicely. We went 20 rounds. Trying to work out a trade for LT right now, by packaging Royal/Ruud, which I'll just deal with another receiver later. To put it straight, I'm worried about my lack of RBs due the size and competency of the league. If the super combo does not produce really great numbers consistently, I'm gona get crushed.
