My gut says That as well as Vick may do vs the Lions the Job is still Kolb's. That being said does Vick stay in Philly all year?
Yes. The Kolb injury means that they need the highest paid backup in the league even more so now than they did before the season started....My gut says That as well as Vick may do vs the Lions the Job is still Kolb's. That being said does Vick stay in Philly all year?
double post my bad.. apologies...Do we really need two threads for this?
Kolb signed a one-year contract extension worth $12.25 million on April 29, keeping him under contract with the Eagles through the 2011 season."The Philadelphia Eagles have given quarterback Kevin Kolb another vote of confidence, extending his contract by one year, the team announced Thursday.what exactly is kolbs current deal?
To be a starter and make more $. I think Vick has the big arm and flash that will get AL Davis to toss a big contract at him.Edit: Since two people have quoted this post without reading or comprehending what I posted in post #3, I'll restate what I said:"Stays with Philly all year, and is a Raider in the offseason."why wouldn't he stay in Philly?
why did philly do this? they need a new guy in charge in the risk department. seems as thogu two good games against 2 lousy teams shouldnt merit this type of pay.Kolb signed a one-year contract extension worth $12.25 million on April 29, keeping him under contract with the Eagles through the 2011 season."The Philadelphia Eagles have given quarterback Kevin Kolb another vote of confidence, extending his contract by one year, the team announced Thursday.what exactly is kolbs current deal?
The deal is worth $12.26 million, all of it guaranteed, over the next two seasons. Included in that sum is a signing bonus of $10.7 million, a source close to the player told ESPN.com's Matt Mosley. "

Do you think Kolb keeps this job all year once he gets back from the concussion? What if he starts playing poorly and Vick lights it up during (weeks 2 and 3 hypothetically).....what happens ten?Why on Earth would the Eagle's trade Vick mid-season when that would leave us with Mike Kafka to back up an ALREADY hurt Kolb? Now I DO think that if he plays well over the next few weeks, he will be setting himself up for a gig somewhere as a starter next year.

so Philly is going to trade him with kolb hurtTo be a starter and make more $. I think Vick has the big arm and flash that will get AL Davis to toss a big contract at him.why wouldn't he stay in Philly?
Because they have watched him for 3 years in practice and were confident in what they saw. Also, his contract was up at the end of this season, so if they did not extended him, he probably would have looked to sign with the highest bidder next year. Finally, if the 2 good games you are referring to are the two games he started last year, one of those games was against the Saints. If I recall they won the Super Bowl last year.If Kolb plays well this year, they have already taken care of him for next year, and will look to lock him up long-term. If Kolb fails miserably they only have one year left on his deal that they are obligated to pay. They may end up looking bad if Kolb fails because they did a poor job of evaluating him, but from a contract stand point, I think they handled it pretty good. Consider the $12 million that the Eagles have to pay Kolb to see if he is their franchise QB for the next decade versus what the Lions and Rams had to pay Stafford and Bradford to do the same thing.why did philly do this? they need a new guy in charge in the risk department. seems as thogu two good games against 2 lousy teams shouldnt merit this type of pay.Kolb signed a one-year contract extension worth $12.25 million on April 29, keeping him under contract with the Eagles through the 2011 season."The Philadelphia Eagles have given quarterback Kevin Kolb another vote of confidence, extending his contract by one year, the team announced Thursday.what exactly is kolbs current deal?

Thanks. This is a good post and definitely helps me understand the situation better. My bad on the games he started last year, i thoguht both were against bad teams.Because they have watched him for 3 years in practice and were confident in what they saw. exactly. Also, it would probably be a problem at some point when your backup QB was going to be making 5X as much as your starter. When they named him the starter, they almost had to adjust his salary.Because they have watched him for 3 years in practice and were confident in what they saw. Vick is a free agent at the end of this year - the Eagles won't be trading him in the offseasonNo way does Vick get traded in the middle of this season. He will be an Eagle all of 2010. The Eagles will let the offers come in during the off-season and will likely wait until the last possible moment to trade him for the best offer they can get.....pretty much right around the middle of April 2011.
Kolb is going to be given as much rope as possible to see if he is the Eagle's next franchise QB. I think when he is healthy, he is going to have to play awful for at least 3 or 4 games, before he gets pulled as a starter. From a fantasy perspective, I think you want to stay away from Kolb and Vick until you know for sure that one or the other is the established (and producing) starter.Do you think Kolb keeps this job all year once he gets back from the concussion? What if he starts playing poorly and Vick lights it up during (weeks 2 and 3 hypothetically).....what happens ten?Why on Earth would the Eagle's trade Vick mid-season when that would leave us with Mike Kafka to back up an ALREADY hurt Kolb? Now I DO think that if he plays well over the next few weeks, he will be setting himself up for a gig somewhere as a starter next year.
Makes more sense if you read all the posts. I said he stays in Philly all 2010, and that in 2011 he's gone and I think the Raiders are a possibility.so Philly is going to trade him with kolb hurtTo be a starter and make more $. I think Vick has the big arm and flash that will get AL Davis to toss a big contract at him.why wouldn't he stay in Philly?. this thread makes no sense

Give it a rest already. Your rightous outrage has been duely noted.I hope the Eagles can get a 2nd or 3rd rounder for this Thug. It is embarrassing that I have to cheer for him this week.
Oops, forgot about that, thanks for the reminder..........still, Vick won't get traded during this year either.Vick is a free agent at the end of this year - the Eagles won't be trading him in the offseasonNo way does Vick get traded in the middle of this season. This year? This is real football not fantasy. The Eagles have an unproven injured starter and they are going to think of trading Vick? Cmon.To be a starter and make more $. I think Vick has the big arm and flash that will get AL Davis to toss a big contract at him.why wouldn't he stay in Philly?
