Vick negotiating a deal for a plea bargain (1 Viewer)

NO!

Ask your self these questions:

Ok do you want Mike Vick playing for your home team?

Do you want to go games that have 100's of protesters every week?

Does the NFL want to stain their Image Like that?

If Vick takes any plea he is done in the NFL. He will have admitted to Killing dogs, Gambling across state lines and telling lies to the commissioner and the public.
In response to your questions:1. Sure, why not. As stated before in other threads - some people don't think dog fighting is a big deal. He is a money maker as far as I am concerned.

2. This will die down. It already has to a large degree. Once he accepts punishment - most of the PETA people will go find something else to do.

3. As if there aren't worse human beings in the NFL. He is actually tame compared to some.

4. He's not on trial for killing dogs buddy. It's gambling and a slew of other federal charges.
You should actually read the indictment before you comment on it. Part b. on this page:

http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/years...17072vick2.html
what is your point? That means nothing to me.
Your inability to read is not my problem, but it basically says The grand Jury charges that Vick conspired to commit some crimes including (this was on the first page) -> part b. exhibiting an animal in an animal fighting venture. In other words he was fighting dogs and a guilty plea would be admitting to it.
You are correct - they were exhibiting dogs. What else would they be exhibiting? Kangaroos! My point is that killing dogs wasnt a charge, but it sure is the main reason the public-at-large hates him right now. It's almost as if people dont even know the charges because they are so outraged about the animal abuse.

So will he play in the NFL again?
Yes.J
Ya really, where? OAK and only OAK..and you bet whoever has the gaul to sign will be put to misery..I know this I will go out of my way to harrass any team that dare sign this maggot. I will call, right, and email you name it and i will do it every single day until something is done. I would be willing to bet anyone here that Vick will never play another down in the NFL if he admits he shooting, eletrcuting, hanging, and beating dogs to there deaths..any takers PM me here including you J!He plays again and I will never spend one red cent on ANY NFL product ever again and that includes FF!

Looks like Vick is going to own up and accept some responsibility. It's time to forgive him and move on. He's obviously learned a lot from this experience and will be a better human going forward.I hope the prosecution deals fairly and he gets a 3 or so month sentence with probation.Good luck Mike, your fans were let down, but you've shown a lot of maturity and i forgive you.
You must be joking.
:lmao: Are you kiddin me :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Fair would be 3-5 ... YEARS

actually, this is very new.

He's pleading now instead of going to trial. Looks like he knows he's cornered.

I think he is looking at a 1year prison time commuted to 6 months with good behavior...and 5 years probation with fines.
WTF!!!!???? Does the prosecuter and or Judge have Vick on there Dynasty teams or what?>?? This is BS..how can he ever get off the cheaply and then get all his money back as well byt oplaying in the NFL again? Before you know it he will be attending dog fights again if this is the case!

Like being sued for harassment?

I agree with you, man. This is just my opinion on what he'll plead it down to. If it was up to me - I would make sure he received more prison time.

Believe it or not, morality still trumps greed to most of us...even in the NFL...
No it doesn't and you should be ashamed if you're foolish enough to believe that. The NFL is full of scumbags. It's full of saints but to think fans will tune out because there are some sleazebags on their hometeam is naive.

Fed time is 85% of your sentence at BEST. There is no "time off for good behavior".

If the others plea bargained that Mike was the ring leader (moneyman/property owner)... Vick plea bargaining wont get him off.

He would just be trying to avoid the maximum sentence of 6 years.

Dropping 50% of it, is a serious plea bargain. 66% (down to 2 years) would be a great move by the lawyers.

6 months? 10%? We should all be so rich & famous.

You seem pretty emotional about this. Is it the dog thingy in particular?

Seeing a distinction between "fighting dogs", "being cruel to animals", and "killing dogs" is splitting a hair that most of us don't care about. If he admits to fighting dogs for sport he will be guilty of torturing and killing dogs in the eyes of the public.

Exactly ... some people don't get it ... He's going to prison, the only question is how long. And This NFL won't touch him the Commish will prolly see to that. I hope

if harrasment is telling them that myself and my family will never spend another cent on there product and how they are in the same boat with a concicted Dog murderer over and over then YES sue me all you want!

Forget the public, in the eyes of the law. One word ...conspiracy

ALSOpleaing out of this does not protect him from anything local or state, does it?any lawyer type people around?
Does anyone have any educated information on this?
I am pretty sure double jeopardy applies if they accept a plea. The only time the state would get a bite of the apple would be if the feds dropped charges. Once you have been convicted of one criminal act you can't be tried for that specific set of facts again. What does happen sometimes is that local prosecutors will drop charges to make way for the feds to prosecute. Either because they have a stronger case or harsher penalties. /not a lawyer

I'm talking about the owners, chief. No business owner in their right mind (IE who has morals) would ever hire Vick again. PS the NFL is full of good people sick of getting their reputation tarnished by scumbags.

As I said in the post you quoted, the NFL is full of kind individuals (saints) as well as scumbags. Warrick Dunn is the main guy that comes to mind but there are loads of others that do not receive the praise they deserve.Didn't a new team just sign McMichael? Has Ray Lewis received a new contract? You can't possibly tell me an owner would refuse to sign Vick if they thought he would help the team make money. Owners constantly sign less than reputable characters. Fans dictate things-if a player is going to help put butts in their seats then they'll get signed. Vick would be a lightning rod for controversy but he would bring people into the stadium.

If he's pleading out, the charge he'd be banned for life for would be the illegal gambling. You think Goodell wants any hint of a possibility Vick would resort to football bets? Gambling is a slippery slope and what does Mike know best - football. Add the lying to the commish's face and I seriously doubt he sees the field again in the NFL. He is a mediocre talent as it stands now. If he misses 2 full seasons the game will have passed him by and he'd be at best a back up somewhere. And who would want all the extra baggage just for a backup?

He may very well play again, but it will NOT be with the Atlanta Falcons. Blank has washed his hands of Mexico.

I am sorry you are so jaded. I am telling you that any owner with morals would 100% refuse to sign Vick even if they thought he would make them money.

Yes.J
Disagree. IMO Goodell will take the plea as an admission of guilt. He be suspended at least this season. He will still have a year of jail time. And any slips while on probation will incur an adidtional year's suspension. With all the nagative press, him being out of football shpe after prison, and his never being a very good QB, I doubt any team takes a chnace on him.

They're DOGS! NOT PEOPLE! Not even real dogs, but pit bulls that ARE bread TO FIGHT. They are agressive and dangerous animals. You people act like he was the leader of an underground child prostitution ring or something. When people equate animals to humans, there is something wrong with that person. Sure pets can become sentimental, but they're just animals, and one could argue it's cruel that you keep animals as pets and they should be free... So as far as I'm concerned all you pet owners are on par with slave traders.Good day, sirs!

Bob if your right then our country is in serious trouble. At worst if there isnt as many or more fans who would rebel against Vick playing for their team as their are fans who would welcome him then IMO we are in seriuos troube in this country and some God awful things are in out future. I think we should all pray that people like Mike Vick are not rewarded for ther past cruel deeds. We ALL should also do whatever we can to make sure this does not happen. Call and email everyone you can and lets let it be known that letting this guy off the hook so easily is just unacceptable and we just wont have it.You mention Lewis, but at least he was found innocent by a jury of his peers if I recall that situation right? The others who had DUI problems were under the influence at the time and went through the system. what Vick has done here if all is true is something different IMO. A man with this bank who is dumb enough to put himself in a situation where he could lose it all if caught deserves the very worst consquences. Guy has what 100 million or so in the bank and is betting of which Dog will kill the other one for 2,3,5 10k? Why? It has to be the dumbset thing I have ever heard of. He riksed it all doing this so he should lose it all for getting caught doing it! I just thank goodness thant he was caught..he would still be murdering dogs as we sit here had be not been .Sad to say but the old adage of do what you want but just don't get caught does sadly come into play here. What others don't know can't hurt them. Like I say the audacity of him to be in this line of business when he has so many reasons not to be..all 120 million of them really just mystifies me to no end. Makes me sit here and wonder what all these super rich people might be doing behind closed doors with all there money?

There is a direct correlation between people who are cruel to animals and people who are cruel to humans. That and I agree with the other post that points out that you forgot.......It's illegal.

OK, but whats next? After we allow or tolorete things like in that indicment to take place whats comes next when these people in years to come become board with just watching Dogs rip each other apart to the death? They will want more and before you know it HUMANS will take the place of these dogs..and you better beleive this can and will happen...actually being a realist it is very likely to be happening somewhere in this world now..but when the day comes that our children can go around the corner in this country inside locked doors and watch to human beings fight to the death has to make one think about what our future holds for them?

I don't think he is real, so we should put him in ring with a pack of those fake dogs. What's the action on it?

The only way I can see this working is for Vick to come out with a sincere, crying mea culpa that clearly communicates how wrong this was...and some effort he's now contributing to you name it...animal shelters, peta, etc...to assert his behavior in completely the opposite direction. If he does this, I can see a team bringing him into their camp to compete. But, that being said, he was never a very good QB to begin with (tons of talent and a 2-cent head). I doubt he'd get out of jail before the 2008 campaign, so we're looking at '09 at the earliest. And, by then, his skills will have eroded, and he'll be a backup. So, unless he can mature a little bit (or a lot) in the next two years, I don't foresee any semblance of a substantial football career ahead of him.Great news for the Falcons...they can recoup most of their money now, right?

See boxing?Better yet, maybe the NFL will wise up and support dog fighting, they can clean the sport up. the NFL can donate shoulder pads and helmets for the dogs to wear to help protect them :bag:Like I said before, the NFL makes billions of dollars off of violence... You can make a million arguments and I don't have the time, but if Michael Vick does his time I don't see how he's not back in the NFL. The only thing I'm disappointed in is that he broke the law. The law is the law, if you agree with it or not. He broke the law he should pay a price, but 5 years would be ridiculous. Like Vick or not he's a person and thus > dog(s). A million dogs isn't worth a half hour of a humans life in jail. Good day, sirs!!

Oh just give this some time..when Vick gets off so easy and gets out in six months i am sure he will be working on making things like that happen...Humans vs Dogs and humans verse huamans..fight to the death..bet all you want..just don't tell anyone so we dont get caught.

Good day, sirs!!
someone else please handle this one..i am just shaking my head and am disgusted with some of theings being said here now...enough for me for one day..a million dead dogs is better than the human who killed them in jail for 30 minutes?

Looks like Vick is going to own up and accept some responsibility. It's time to forgive him and move on. He's obviously learned a lot from this experience and will be a better human going forward.I hope the prosecution deals fairly and he gets a 3 or so month sentence with probation.Good luck Mike, your fans were let down, but you've shown a lot of maturity and i forgive you.
I wonder if the Dogs he drowned and electricuted feel the same way as you do BEER.Hes done with a capital D...

Boxers and NFL players have the free will to decide whether or not to enter the ring to fight and they are compensated for that decision. Dogs don't get to choose whether or not they fight.

He gets suspended for the season and does absolutely no jail time. Then comes back next year and plays for the team Atlanta trades him to.

And to think, people like this are allowed to vote in this country.
I don't think he is real, so we should put him in ring with a pack of those fake dogs. What's the action on it?
Oh just give this some time..when Vick gets off so easy and gets out in six months i am sure he will be working on making things like that happen...Humans vs Dogs and humans verse huamans..fight to the death..bet all you want..just don't tell anyone so we dont get caught.
Wow, that's not a borderline ######ed comment. You know in nature animals each other right? I guess Nick Tunes has ruined humanity... There is a talking dog in a cartoon and I can relate to that dog! Again, people who can't differentiate between humans and animals are the ridiculous. Are you vegetarians or do you just overlook the fact that eat a ton of animals every year? You know that leather in your car... I have some shocking news for you... Oh and these concrete jungles we live in are eliminating the real ones full of animals.
