Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (4 Viewers)

Maybe I've just played them too close together, but I'm not digging Uncharted 3 nearly as much as I did the 2nd.

Uncharted 2 was awesome, this one - only so so.

Just finished Uncharted 1 and just started part 2 and am loving it even more than part one (which was great as well).

What is it about Drakes Deception that is falling flat for you? Too much of the same old? I can see and feel the step up in part 2 from Drakes Fortune. Maybe 3 is not a true upgrade but more of closure to the trilogy.

Either way I will pick it up when it hits 20 bucks used.

I don't know exactly. I mentioned before that the mechanics feel off and that has remained true. Also, I don't seem to be as immersed in the story and I can't tell if it's me not paying enough attention of if it's that the story wanders a bit too much.

Don't get me wrong, it's still a great game and it looks incredible. Just a bit of a letdown from 2.

The controls are not the strong suit of this series. They are not responsive enough sometimes and the aim can be frustrating at times. But I can overlook that because like you have said the games are beautiful to look at the story and voice acting is top notch. Now if this series had responsive controls say like the Batman Arkham games......that would be a coup.

I'm still playing Infamous 1. I like it a lot, but I am having trouble following the storyline a bit. I probably took too much time off in between when I started playing it. I don't know who the chick is that keeps calling me giving me missions even.

Do I need to collect all the dead drops? Finding them is a PITA and I don't care about 100% completion really.

I went on the Playstation Store to download the Twisted Metal demo, but couldn't find it. Do they stop carrying it after the game comes out?

If you don't care about the 100% completion or trophies, the dead drops are meaningless outside of adding some back story. The dead drops however are very easy to find as you can hone in on them with your map using radar making searching a breeze as there are so few of them. The shards on the other hand are more of a pain because there are so many and some don't even show up on the map.

I bought Ultima IV complete on that GOG website. Then I found a program that runs in in any resolution you want! It doesn't just make the normal screen size bigger, it actually places more viewable screen!!!!!

I know 95% of you won't dig this, but this game was WAY ahead of it's time. This was easily the deepest RPG I had ever played in it's day. Fun to go back....Can't wait to get to Serpent Isle!

This was my response to Uncharted 3 "issues" if you have finished the gameI don't know exactly. I mentioned before that the mechanics feel off and that has remained true.

My response was in the PS3 thread.http://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=380005&view=findpost&p=14110122

basically my complaint was similar to controls and parts that drug on

I didn't know shards showed up on the map at all?I think I got all but 1 dead drop in the first map. I cannot find the ones on the jail wall in the second. So I am kind of looking for them, but not caring too much.

The new SSX comes out tomorrow; I loved the originals and this one is reviewing very well. :excited:
Looks like a lot of good thing. More maps, bigger air, better graphics and online multiplayer thats supposed to be next level. We'll see how it delivers but if its basically "Tricky" with better maps and bigger, better looking worlds, then its a win in my book.

99% of the shards show up on map if you hit a certain button. On PS3 you hit L3 and they show on map and fade out. Just spam L3 to keep them on map for longer.

Isn't Serpent Isle in VII?

I pre ordered MLB The Show. I am still playing the 2010 version. I am interested in the move option. Looking forward to that as well as Bioshock Infinite.

Okay, so the last couple nights of play have definitely picked up. After you get drugged and meet up with Marlowe it seems to kick into high gear.
The chase through the streets and navigating through the ship graveyard are both pretty dang cool.

So, how is Red Dead Redemption and the game that goes with it, Undead Nightmare? Been thinking of picking it up.
I did not play Undead Nightmare, but I did play just the normal Red Dead right when it came out. It was enjoyable, but it didn't have lasting appeal to me. From the "open world" games I have played there are more cities or at least cities that are bigger. I found Red Dead to be just a couple of smaller cities and then a lot of the "wild west" with some occasional things going on there. Then again, those games aren't exactly my favorite genre so if you enjoy other games such as that then this would probably be right up your alley.

Also am looking forward to Show. Do you have move? Would be interested to see how it works/how well it works.

Seems like I will be finishing up Deus Ex:HR and have just loved it. The only sad thing, of course, is that there is already a sequel, called Deus Ex, from about 8 years ago.

Anyway, I finally picked Dark Souls back up again. For some reason, I have a hard time playing this game for long stretches at a time, unlike the first one which I played non-stop for probably close to two months. Finished up NG+, which I had left hanging for Skyrim, and then immediately started a brand new character that's going to specialize in spear combat and pyromancy, with no miracles or sorcery or any weapons with high stat requirements.

Of course, I'll only get so far with this before ME3 arrives, but that's okay. One thing I'm promising myself I'm not going to do is grind away for the Dark Souls platinum trophy. The trophy requiring all the rare weapons is a huge PITA to get, so this is one where the completionist in me is going to have to live with 91% completion, or whatever it is that I'm on.

This is where I left off at. I think I am at like 97% trophy level but can't finish off the rare weapon one, specifically the damn one where you have to cut the tail off the bosses to create the special weapons. If you miss it, you have to play through the game entirely again and I gave up after NG++.Still all in all a great game. Loved using the spear. More fun using it as my melee weapon than I expected it to be.

Anyone who is interested in SW:TOR, Amazon has it for sale right now for $39.99. Physical box, which is actually one of the 2 things holding me back (other is that I don't know that I want to start another MMO still, and pay a month fee to play a game.)

Okay. Forget what I said about Uncharted 3 before. Ever since the scene where you get drugged the game has been freaking amazing.

The action on the cruise ship was off the charts (get it? see what I did there?).

Yeah, if you were judging Uncharted 3 entirely on the first 8 or so chapters, you were only just then getting to the part where things pick up steam. The only complaint I have with all three Uncharteds is that they take seemingly forever to get going. The last 2/3 of each game is awesome though.

Picked up Bioshock, Dead Space, Deus Ex, Mass Effect 2, Darksiders, and Portal 2 for about $55 bucks last night. I'm good for the year.

I'm still holding a massive pile of both PS3 and PC games picked up during Holiday sales. The fact that I've got over 200 hours into Skyrim hasn't helped make that pile go down.

anyone play the newest Star Wars MMORPG? any good? Didn't bother because I've grown out of building new computers to play games, but it looked promising.

It seems to me that gigantor is playing. Maybe his lack of posting is evidence that it is pretty good.I know a lot of my LOTRO friends are playing it and loving it.

Let me know how Darksiders is. I have been interested in playing it as the price point is great.
I actually started it last year, played about 3 hours of it, and then I lost it in a bet. Never picked it back up. Loved it then, though. Great voice acting. Someone once described it as God of War meets Ocarina of Time.

About 4 hours into Mass Effect 2. Just got done getting Mordin on my squad and did some various side quests. About to go and get Archangel on the squad, but have to go to class first. So far very impressed with it.

That is a very solid haul. Bioshock, Dead Space, and Mass Effect 2 are all among my favorite games of all time.

Does anyone have the PS Vita in hand? If so can you explain the feature they show on commercials where you can be playing a PS3 game on your PS3 and then continue it on your vita? Does that mean I could play Skyrim on the Vita if I am playing it on the PS3?

Smart man. I finished Dead Space and Mass Effect 2 and they are both first class titles. I still have not played Bioshock. But I will. Same for Deus Ex Human Revolution (picked it up for 34 bucks new a couple of months ago). With Mass Effect 3 and The Show coming out next week.....I decided to wait. I have so many games still yet to play so why pay 60 bucks. I bought Dead Space, Dead Space 2 and Mass Effect for 60 bucks total. Waiting is the smartest thing. I have the Show 11 and have a couple of great franchises going in that one. So I can get my baseball fix through the fall with that.....then pick up the Show 12 used for under 30 bucks by then. And then there is Skyrim. I have already sunk 170 plus hours into it and it has been on hiatus going on 3 weeks now as I played through the brilliant Mass Effect 2, Uncharted 1 and 2. I will pick that back up and get lost again and finish out the main quest and start the Dark Brotherhood. Then I want to play a second play through of Mass Effect. That game is so awesome i t demands it. Then I will have a couple of Sheppard Options for ME 3 when I pick that up at a big discount.Buying games new just makes zero sense anymore for me at this point. I don't have to have it now. It can wait.
